I am getting conflicting info. Can people have unofficial servers from other companies other then Titrado or is it only privately owned servers that can be used?
Well that definitely clarifies the context of the mechanics when you say it grows up super fast. This whole time I was like "bro it takes 50x more work to raise a baby than to just tame the parent"
It wholly depends, but I’d argue it would be easier for the most part to just kill the parent, then claim the baby, Ntm generally a lot less dangerous, especially when cryopods are officially implemented. Especially Trikes early on, they can be a pain to tame for many
Doesn’t that also increase the level of the baby to the after tame level of the parent? Also does the stat allocation to the baby randomize when you do this?
I don't think you need the food on your hotbar (or it's bugged if you're supposed to need it). I've inprinted 3 baby raptors, a baby parasaur and a baby trike with mejoberries on my last slot. (They were only there in case a Pego comes up to steal stuff) I'm not 100% sure, but I think at least one of those actually didn't have food in my last hotbar slot at all. (Needs testing though, as I DID have cooked meat on second to last slot at all times)
Keep an herbivore and put the prime meat in their inventory. It extends the spoil timer. Even better if you can tame a hyenadon and get a meat pack on it.
Taming a mother near its baby will raise the level of the baby before you claim it. If you see a 150 dino with a 150 baby and you tame the adult, the babies level instantly raises to match the adults level post tame before you claim it. Good way to get a free 224 baby and a 224 adult at same time.
I have to ask, are you enjoying playing ASA? I for some reason enjoy it more than ASE. I have played the island so much I was sure I would hate it. I have cranked up my dino spawn rate because of the issue you discussed. Other than that, i have been having a blast. Love the new dino colors and the building has been great
If you don’t mind a random reply, then yeah, I’ve been enjoying it way more than ASE. I don’t even remember much from playing ASE, I think my steam playtime is only 80 minutes, actually. Though I used to play Ark Mobile for a good while, and enjoyed that. I think, for me at least, it was that ASA is much easier. This is just because I used the single player settings and didn’t realize at the time those were ridiculously scaled, but I was able to enjoy the game without getting pissed by every little thing killing me on a whim, while still having enough of a challenge at times to be engaging. Again, I don’t recall much from playing ASE, but I think I might’ve only played official servers, where obviously the rates are way down from SP. Another thing that I remember absolutely and utterly hating was the fact that quite literally everything could go wrong at a moments notice, and even worse, without you there to even give you a chance at doing anything. While it may be part of The Ark Experience, I’m probably just a more casual player for this game. I like taming cool dinos and that’s it to be honest. For Ark Mobile, it was similar to ASA, where I played on PVE servers mostly, so not only was I helped by others, but it was just a more chill experience in general. It was easier, but not enough to just make any encounter trivial, so I could actually enjoy it. God knows how I’ll fare on an ASA server though, official or not, but so far I’ve been enjoying a single player experience, though I have tweaked some settings to make it a bit harder.
Good tip, if you don't have kibble for tames and struggle to find a sheep for mutton, kill the babies for a good amount of prime meat, diplos and brontos are really good for prime
we've gone from knocking dinos out, force feeding them into stolkhome syndrome, to making babies orphans so we can adopt them... this game is teaching players to be psychopaths.
The growth rate is set to 10 on solo plays. you can lower this in your world settings before entering the game. this way you can imprint and care before the baby dino is fully grown.

Ty a concise vid on this. Tried teachersgametoo's vid on this didnt explain the bonus leveling at all merely hyped up the additions of babies while bypassing the actual important points of taming them, like a politician asked a toughed questing justing grasping for the time limit.
I keep seeing/hearing/ "You have to kill the parents" everywhere, but you can just tame the parents - sure, it's going to take a longer if they're a decent level, but there's no real sense in wasting a good tame, since the imprinting is bugged you're only going to get an extra couple of levels on the baby over taming the parent anyways

@xXDEUC35Xx interesting. I was curious about this and tried it a few times but each time the baby was always the original level regardless of tame efficiency.
I think they also did it in The Hunted mod- anything and everything can attack you in that, so maybe they got the idea from that. Makes sense cos the parents will mostly attack to defend their young. With the exception of some animals that will actually throw their baby at/near an attacker so they can run away.
