    If anyone does happen to see a baby that's not on this list please let me know!!
    One already known anomally - Alphas can spawn with the parent icon, and do inherit the code from non-alpha versions... but none of my tests successfully produced a baby, so it was left out.

      I can understand where you're coming from tbh. Look how different chicks are compared to adults in the vast majority of birds! Birds being dinosaurs themselves sheds a lot of light on how most dinosaurs might have changed, at times rather drastically, as they matured. Adding something like this to the game might just bring back some level of 'realism'.
      Take T-Rex for example... Chances are it had feathers which resembled something closer to downy 'hair' as a baby and lost it as it grew. Bigger dinosaurs would most likely have overheated if they kept the feathers. A juvenile Rex would also have been much faster and more nimble than an adult making it a better hunter while fully grow Rexes probably scavenged more often than not due to their sheer size and energy required for hunting. Could you imagine if certain species had unique abilities/perks and uses as juveniles, making them more than just an annoying stage of baby-sitting!? Seeing things like this, or Triceratops gain its horns as it grows, too, would just be a nice to have. Could also make babies look even more cute and distinguishable from their adult versions with potential of added benefits and uses for babies and juveniles, too!

      @freynlives  9 месяцев назад +1

      It's not the existence of a baby alone, after all we can breed them so baby ones are certainly possible.
      There's a specific command that spawns a parent+baby pair/group, with the baby actively following the parent and it's taming tied to it. Attempting to spawn any of the ones not on this list with that command causes a crash, because the values for it just aren't present.

    I don't think it has to do with being too powerful at all. Why would the Rex be there, one of the most used boss-fighting creatures, and not the multitude of other creatures in the tiers below it? We saw more babies in the trailer, and there's no reason wolf pups shouldn't exist. I hope (and will continue to think is the case until the devs officially state otherwise), that all the other creature baby specific spawns/systems are just currently unfinished and/or devs didn't have enough time to add them in prior to the October deadline to get the game out, and we will potentially eventually see the remaining babies at a later time once they have time to finish them.
    Baby flyers were an option in Kraken's Better Dinos in ASE (and other baby creature mods on the workshop) and distributed babies to everything outside of Titanosaur, IIRC (unless the creature was blacklisted). WC has a much larger team than a single mod author. I don't think it would be difficult at all for them.
    The only creatures that would make sense to prevent babies of on The Island are Gigas, Carchs, and Rhynios.

    They should adjust the baby rates to real studies of similar species of them / archeologically science theories, and have all creatures possible to have babies have a chance.
    Like sheep in the wild with babies sounds easy to rate, since sheep are alive today and real. Equus horses too. T-Rexes are massive carnivores, and similar to real life alive big carnivores, their offspring is more rare and spread out across their lifetime. Dodos probably easily have babies, terror birds off ostrich studies, as land birds reproduce fairly often as is. Dire wolves based off of wolf studies, sabretooth lions based off lions, dire bears off bears..
    Just do a cross study for similar seeming creatures alive today, adjust the rates of baby chance. Titans would be extremely friggin rare, (omg sounds so cute lol) and long neck ones can be based off Giraffes/Reptilians cross studies, so fairly rare too. Itchyonris bird baby can't perform the diving for fish as a baby, idk if they can even fly.. actually don't know if any baby birds can fly lol. So flying creatures certainly probably cannot have offspring, but irl anyway they are nest bound and when eggs hatch, not very long in retrospect until the baby is doing adult flying activities. So flyers can not have babies realistically for the game.

      Not dumb at all :) I originally had something explaining it but it started to cover a bit too much of the screen, and couldn't come up with another solution.
      It's the chance to spawn with that many children - e.g for the Diplodocus it has a 30% chance to spawn with 1 child, 8% with 2, and 2% with 3. The last number is the maximum growth they can spawn with.
