    Recommended actions: Play this for about 2 hours and then let your equipment cool down for 1 hour. Then, do the same again for about 1-2 days.
    Play at reasonable volumes (no mechanical noise) where you have enough excursion and on every play increase volume slightly.
    It is highly recommended to free-air the subwoofer driver during the break in so the cone can move freely without air resistance.

    great! cleared up the mechanical noise that was bothering me with my MK402 Dayton Audio bookshelf speakers as well as made them sound more natural and balanced.
    Also broke in my MTX terminator dual 12" subwoofers too now they dont smell anymore when playing at high volume and they also sound much cleaner and less boomy and more rich and deep. they are really stiff subs!

  • @MusicStudent1
    @MusicStudent1 5 лет назад +66

    I’ve tested my sound systems with a lot of bass boosted songs and bass tones but THIS ONE is different! It will definitely break in your equipment. Not only speakers, but the power supply, amp, and other electronics will heat up playing this one. Also, be very careful not to play it too loud....it seems like the amp and speakers are doing more than you can hear. I smelled some burned voice coils from my speakers after playing this. It’s a good tool, just be careful with it!

    • @simterproductions2537
      @simterproductions2537  4 года назад +18

      You should definitely not blast this one, it is amped up to peak gain, use responsibly and be sure your equipment is ready for it. You shouldnt blast this at full volume om the first uses on a driver.

    • @MusicStudent1
      @MusicStudent1 4 года назад +5

      SimteR Productions , I agree, thanks for posting it. I am planning on building some more speaker systems soon. This particular sweep will be used on my next build for several hours on the drivers starting at a really low volume. I’m going to break the drivers in with it free air - again, low volume. There’s also another use for this...if you want to DESTROY some stuff for the fun of it, this’ll do it, lol!

      If you’re breaking in subs, you should not have it too loud at the beginning, the only smells you should be getting is the excess glue burning/wearing off. They say 12 hours of break in time. I try to do an hour to two a day so it’s ready in a week

    Using this to break in a celestion vintage 30 guitar speaker. They say these v30s take hundreds of hours to break in, so I’m hitting the speaker with it almost on the daily.
    There’s been some
    Definite improvement and if what they say is true than I’m excited for what’s next. I’ve heard the broken in v30 is like a different speaker.

      The average subwoofer driver break-in period is about 20-24 hours of playback of this track (just to break in the surround and spider) However, If you still have some kind of mechanical noise or coil rub after this period, give it a 12 hour brake and play it for another 20 hours at normal volume levels.

      start with the sub barely moving and increase a little every 15-30 minutes, when you have played this 5-10 hours spread out within a week then crank it up a little more for another week, it takes time to properly break in large drivers so be careful. @@andrewmasaberg1116 basically for it to get broken in youd wanna start at playing this at like 30% gain and half volume and go from there
      later when you listen to music you just set your unit to max volume and gain to 0 and start increasing the gain and stop before the sub starts clipping, pay attention to low pass filters etc

    People don't understand break-in. Just use your speakers at normal listening levels and they will "break-in". No need to do sine sweeps or some elaborate 48 hr different in phase outta phase setup.

    • @terry1427
      @terry1427 5 лет назад +17

      It is recommended for high rms subwoofer setups to be broken in before the user wants to use max power. Immediately bumping them could cause surround or coil damage on the long run. The coil has to break in. So because manufacturing doesnt include breaking them in, if youre pushing some serious watts its just a safe approach.

    • @terry1427
