So sorry for their loss. the fact that this keeps happening to families everywhere is so disturbing. From a father that had his son hit by a drunk driver, and losing my nephew, at 14, in that crash, prayers to you all
I had the pleasure of only knowing her for a very short period. She was so genuine and for sure daddy’s little girl. So tragic and gone way too soon. Take care MavEryckS!
LOL...I've told Barry in the past he should sell it...but he's plenty busy with his kids, grandkids and baseball still, that at this time he doesn't appear to have any interest in selling the seasoning...Thanks for watching John!
Thank you for sharing this video. I can only imagine what it would be like to lose a child.. glory be with that young lady's soul, my thoughts and prayers are with her family.
Sad news about your friends daughter, just terrible. As a father of 3 I could only imagine. On a brighter note we did get to see you on the 395 Friday around noon, hope me honking and waving as we drove past didn't startle you, just a fan driving by! Not sure how far off the beaten path my little Maverick could get me but hope to explore some trails off the pavement soon. Best of luck on your new adventures and thank you for sharing some of the best places out there!
Thanks Ted...As a father of three I also can only imagine the pain they are going thru. They are a strong couple that will pull thru! We saw you too! You'd be surprised how well-groomed some of the trails are up in that neck of the woods. Happy Trails
I'm going to miss your trip reports to areas that I have also enjoyed over the years and plan to start revisiting them. That said, I'm already subscribed to the new channel and looking forward to your new adventures.
My condolences to the family 🙏🏼 So it was a total of 11 rigs, 22-23 guys. It’s our anual “company” trip. It’s definitely grown along the years, It started with 4 rigs haha. Anyhow, love and will miss your socal videos. Hope you continue doing your content up in Idaho 👍🏾
What a tragic loss for your friends family and all who knew the girl. Drunk driving is inexcusable. My brother is paralyzed because of a drunk driver. So sad. Sad to see an end, or hiatus, to your travels along 395. I've had several friends make the exodus to Idaho. QOL is much better there than what is happening in CA. I haven't been to Monache in years but I've camped there a couple times. It's a long haul from the 395 and I wondered if it would work out for your group's timeline...you made the right call by moving to a different site and one I have had on my list for years...maybe soon I'll get up there. Can't wait to see the new explorations in a different part of the country...will there be a name change?
Thanks DERP. It is inexcusable and so much pain is at risk for everyone involved if something happens. Sorry to hear about your brother. And there will not be a name change. 395jnky is where is all started for my family and I and will continue to have great memories and meaning for us. Happy Trails
I have a 4x4 Sprinter Revel with lift and suspension upgrades and rear locker. Weights a ton…maybe 8,000 pounds…do you think if we can tackle the roads to Monache Meadows? She’s so wickedly funny, “you woke me up watching them rolling in”…as I said before, amazing chemistry between you two…thanks for all your contents…
Thanks EY. I think your rig shouldn't have a problem provided you have enough experience wheeling it in semi off camber locations with 12"-18" rocks in only a few areas to navigate thru. Good luck and have fun!
Monache was one of our go to spots for years when I used to ride ADV/Dual Sport motorcycles. Sherman Pass I believe is the highest pass in the Sierras.
Bummer to hear about your friends daughter. Hopefully for you there will be enough area to go over landing and making more off road memories. Hard to beat California in the 4wd category! While South Carolina is beautiful in its own right, there is nothing out here for my rig to play on. It's all private land. Actually after 5 years here I'm thinking about moving back west just to overland again. Thank you for sharing memories of many places I used to also frequent. Long before drones and go pro's!
# 1 condolence to your friends and family! #2 happy for you all in your move! but I also couldn't help but tear up at the lyrics of "ain't gonna live like this no more"! you will be missed all around the 395! .... anyone know which Forrest route/ road number they used?.... or if we want to discourage the trolls out there from trashing the place is anyone willing to share a few landmark hints for this particular camp spot?
Great stuff Daniel, really enjoyed the drone footage going into Monache. Sorry to hear about your friend’s daughter, I’ll head on over to donate. Also, I have a question about your We boost mount I’ll shoot you an email on that one, cheers!
Thank you Alastair. The trail is indeed open despite what the website says...I also saw it said closed online, but when I called the ranger station they confirmed it was open.
So sad about your friends daughter, I can't even imagine. Looks like your old pal "Richard" had used that fire pit the night before you. 🍻 Safe travels -roger
So FS website says the Monache Meadows trail is closed indefinitely? Can you shed any light on this? Were there any gates when you were there? Also condolences to your friends what a terrible loss!
Thats the plan....Although with everything we have going on right now, this years PNW is on the radar...but is honestly just a very faint beep at this time. But, the answer is...we will be attending future ones. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Happy Trails!
Daniel, you suggest to visit this destination (and other ones) but failed to include coordinates. Privately DM’d you already - have been an avid subscriber. ☹️
Hey Daniel, if you would please let me know the song and performer of the song playing while you were fishing the first day out. Would greatly appreciate it. As per your norm, great video!
Great question Scott and thanks for asking. You have a great taste in music. This artist name is Bo the Drifter. He has some great tunes which I can use on RUclips. Happy Trails
Somebody you need to contact/hook up with is George. Southwest Idaho Overlanding on RUclips. He is an Old School Overlander. He knows all of the country up there. Watch his channel. One of the most under rated Overlanding channels on You Tube.
have you guys ever made a pizza on your Skottle? if you haven't give it a try and let us know how it goes! one of these days we will get one of those Skottles 👍
Hi Brandy - We have made pizza on the skottle. Check out this video. ruclips.net/video/4_tZkcAIW1o/видео.html We almost nailed it. Kept it in the skottle a little too long and started burning the crust...But overall, it turned out great!

I had the pleasure of only knowing her for a very short period. She was so genuine and for sure daddy’s little girl. So tragic and gone way too soon.
Take care MavEryckS!
PRAYERS FOR HER FAMILY
Thanks Mike
Great comment on verification of the smothered fire using your hands cool to the touch. Nice camera action of road and aerial views! Enjoyed.
Thanks William! Take care and Happy Trails
Daniel where can the common man get said Barry Bonds seasoning?

Prayers out to your friends family on the loss of their daughter.

Sad to see. But I'm sure the new adventures will be awesome in the new territory!
I agree! We can wait to start exploring!

Prayers to your friends. May they be strong for each other. You and Mama Goose are good people. 🙏
I think people in the comments misunderstood. Pretty sure the channel isn’t ending. Just won’t be exploring the 395 since you will be living in Idaho
Correct. The channel will indeed continue with lots of fly-fishing, overlanding and cooking...but not so focused on the 395. Thanks for the comment.
Very sorry to hear of friend’s daughter, Kayla. Prayers for the Borden family.
Thanks E Y!

Sympathies for your friends that is hard to fathom for sure. Question how did you get to Monache Meadows as the USFS lists it as closed indefinitely?
Thank you Alastair. The trail is indeed open despite what the website says...I also saw it said closed online, but when I called the ranger station they confirmed it was open.
The Golden Trout Wilderness is right above where you guys camped.
395 is going to miss you guys. On another note. MG’s Jeep needs some upgrades Mr JNKY😊
Right??!! 🙌🏽
Dear - Your Jeep is very well upgraded...Don't listen to Eric. LOL!!!
So sad about your friends daughter, I can't even imagine.
Looks like your old pal "Richard" had used that fire pit the night before you. 🍻

Just drew G38, I get in no problem stock 1500 Ram 4x4. No lift is needed. The Wall is the worst of it and daylight is the better option.
Good luck on the hunt! I agree that daylight is much better option for someone that hasn't been here before.
@@395jnky Thank you and the best of luck with your new adventure.

Thank you! And thanks for the awesome content!!
Dang...no more 395...sorry for your friends loss.
Thanks Joe!
Now that you will be in the PNW, you should attend the NW Overland Rally and Overland Expo PNW!

When will you be doing more fishing 🎣
When you were there? The national forest website shows it is closed.
It shows closed, but its open.
Is this road open currently? All trails says it’s closed
😢🙏🏻
I was reading earlier Monache road was temporarily closed. Is this the main road into Monache? Never been and looking to go soon.
I read the same thing. I ultimately ended up calling a Ranger Station that confirmed the road was indeed open.

@@395jnky right on! Thanks!
I was coming up tomorrow a.m The road in is rugged but a GMC Canyon Denail 4wd this time of year, is it ok
Should be fine...We saw some bigger trucks coming in and they were doing just fine as we were leaving.
What kind of fuel mileage do you get?
About 14-15mpg....Which isn't dramatically less than what I was getting when I had only added a lift. But now with the re-gearing and all this added weight, it exceeds my expectations. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment !!!!
So annoying, you leave to the wilderness to leave people etc and then a convoy of overland bound clowns show up...
Is Sierra going to be a California dog or an Idaho dog?
She is a California dog.
She's been with her co-owner for a while now in training and she just recently gave birth to 12 puppies! She is doing great and is an amazing mama and is doing great as a working dog!
