Its hard to put into words just how good Roxy and Ferry are, I'm 65 and have been into them since i was 20 years old and all i can say is they've made my life more fullfilled just by being able to listen to their music, nothing else compares not even the Beatles who are legends....thanks

one of the reasons Bryan's music is so good, is that he surrounds himself with professional musicians and very good backup singers, you add that to a very talented man with a haunting voice, and you got gold!!!!

I am ok with you, but an a another unique voice is that of Falco, the Austrian singer who died much too young, so charismatic. From the same generation as Brian Ferry, he had his own universe, never having been able to find inner peace on our planet.

I'm 68 years old, 30 years in my head... And music, artists are timeless. We are in ANOTHER DIMENSION OF SPACE AND TIME thanks to them. ThANK you, Brian FERRY. THOUGHTS to John LENNON, David BOWIE and so many others still alive even though they made a joke about leaving us.... THOUGHTS also to FALCO, Austrian singer, "l'enfant terrible" of Vienna who died much too soon and who was part of my everyday universe.
6:32 When you have Phil Manzanera (who sounded great on the 1st solo btw) watching you approvingly like that, you know you are doing something right.
Also, stellar drumming from Paul Thompson and Bryan ain't too shabby either, 😉.

My dad used to play Roxy Music all the time when I was a child; I'm older now and have started to appreciate how beautiful the music is.
I'm 80 and got turned on to BF with More Than This and had to more of him and Phil Manzanera. My Only Love has become my all-time favorite and reminds me David Gilmour's Live At Gdansk, one of the most beautiful concerts ever. Mr. Ferry should have been knighted a long time ago.
How can I have forgotten this beautiful gem. Just stumbled upon it after almost 40 years.

Outstanding! Why is it that we don't hear music of this quality much anymore?
I saw him play this in Philadelphia in a gym. Second row, eye to eye with the cellist as I cried. I had just come off interferon for hepatitis C, 6 months of hell. Then the gift of seeing Bryan so darn close. My emotions were raw. Will never forget it.
A lot of attention goes quite rightly to Bryan, but a major component of Roxy's style came from the tasteful excellence of Phil Manzanera.

1980 I was 18 I wanted to be him. I saw him play, in his Olympia Tour in LA in 2011, at the Hollywood Bowl. I was 49… and still wanted to be him. Too COOL.
This man is pure class, he was always mr cool and still is, a fantastic voice, brill band, great backing singers the complete package, and at 72 still got it.
He's the James Bond of rock and roll! There's no other!

Its funny (at least to me) back in the early 70s when i was a teenager I didn't overly rate him but as you listen to his music over the years you fully appreciate what a great musician he really is....wonderful stuff... he is a true artist up there with the very best..I doubt he could do ordinary
not underrated...he ist not for eyeryone, he is pure quality...pure feelings...and in his bands are playing always some of the best musicians...
A classic from a way underrated album. "Flesh & Blood" has been panned by many critics, but the album had some great songs on it... which is what I thought a musical artist was trying to create.

Have adored this man since 1985, it was love at first listen with Boys and Girls. Sadly has never had the air time here in the states. Unlike any other Artist, like a fine wine he just gets better with age.
Phil Manzanera is still a great guitarist. He also preformed with David Gilmour when not on tour with Roxy Music.
This song has one(two) of the best guitar solo(s) ever .. fantastic band !

going to see Bryan in Paris on June 2, 2018. saw him in Seattle and Portland in the spring of 2014 and countless Roxy Music concerts in the 80's...it's the end of an era. makes me sad but also so very grateful i existed in this time and space and was there for damn near his entire gifted career.

That kid playing for him is great, and Phil Manzanera must have NO ego, because this is the second live version of this where I saw him completely give the solo over to a talented young dude. (the solo in 1982 Frejus' was just golden)

I remember Martin Fry of ABC said something about some American music critic saying "Beauty Stab" was a Roxy Music doppelganger and he said, "I didn't know Americans even knew about Roxy Music" or something like that. I laughed out loud looking at just about every lp Roxy Music ever made in my album collection at the time. ;-) I'm pretty sure they got my ear tuned for what came after them especially in England. All of those "New Wave/post punk" bands probably did Roxy covers when they first started.

Just come here from watching a programme about the rave summer of '89. Yes, I lived through it and was at the Hacienda in '88 for the start of Acid House. But this music is so completely timeless, classic and mellow. Real music and great musicians and evokes feelings of nostalgia, missed opportunities and some regrets.
