    Weighted pack training has been a part of MTNTOUGH’s programs since the beginning. Originally specialized for backcountry hunters, our heavy pack workouts simulate what a hunter will experience in the woods, building critical back and leg strength to prepare hunters to carry heavy loads over long periods of time in rugged terrain. Now, we are bringing the same concept to military workouts with the MTNTOUGH Military Pack Test.
    The MTNTOUGH Pre-deployment Program is built for, and with the help of active members of US Special Operation Forces, for their specific needs. After two solid years of testing and developing, it's finally ready. You don't need to be an operator to do it, you just need discipline and a strong work ethic. We've seen absolutely incredible results in both our operator friends testing the program, and our local lab members, exclusively in MTNTOUGH+.

    Are there any Times that we could set as a target? I understand the parameters for moving up in load is how many FC DB drops there are. But what about time?

      Hey Kurt. This one is definitely about finishing more than time. It's going to be a lot different for every individual. That being said, we've seen times from under an hour (people went too light) to 2.5 - 3 hours. The longer times were people attempting insane weight. So they are happy with their time. Again, the pride comes from completion of this one.

      @@mtntoughfitness Thanks for the response! I'm planning on stepping off on this one at 05:30. I'll check in with how it goes. I only have 50# DBs at home... So picking loads is done... Simple - Not Easy!

      6/18/22 (BW 220#)
      Pack 60# / DBs 50#
      1.5 mile run (total time (TT) 13:50)
      1km (modified distance from depicted workout) farmer carry with 40 lunge each stop. (TT 48:33 w/ 6 drops)
      1.5 mile run (TT 1:03.38)
      Total km 6.26.
      To improve: muscle endurance in Hamstrings.
      Performed on a 330meter loop. Was on pace for one stop/drop first lap. 2 on second. 3 on third. Felt like it would continue this way for lap 4&5. Equaling 15 total stops.
      Objective: Will complete at least men’s level 1 by end of September 2022.

    All for being in shape for hunting but, this seems a little crazy. The mental piece is way harder out there. Unless this is meant to get you mentally tougher?

      Ha. Not cross fit. We don’t kip. We also do strict burpees. No pealing off the ground. We have a much higher over all focus on longevity, injury prevention, and heavy pack training. So rather than cross fit, it’s mission specific mountain hunting strength and conditioning for high elevation rugged terrain.
