- The wait is finally over for Kregg Thommasen to draw an elk tag in one of the premiere areas of northwest Wyoming. Kregg and his wingman Garrett saddle up the horses and head deep into the backcountry to find a bull worthy of the wait, but after passing a nice bull on the first day the hunt gets tricky and cold. Will they find what they are after?

Amen! No regrets. Hunting is about the journey and the experience - not always about the kill. Great video and great bull!
Awesome hunt. Worth the wait. Great shot!
The guy made the right choice, to wait for another bull. And to get closer in order to mitigate the wind. Even though some will give grief because the shot was over 700 yards instead of 70 yards, this is the only way to get these bulls. They get old with big antlers because they are skiddish as hell. You can't just walk up in shotgun distance every time.
Granted, this was Gunwerks rifle and set up and it helps to show the capability. At least there was a harvest.
Dude that's awesome! Been waiting for this hunt to come out after talking to Kregg a while back! Really impressive shot👍 Good job Kregg & Garrett, the deadly duo👊
Oh right! Great shot. Another idiot applauding this bullshit you call a hunt. Shooting from your living room sofa.
Gosh I’m so happy this finally was posted. It feels like it’s been 5+ years since the original trailer.
Great turnout , great shot and the way he landed with the antlers up was classic . Well done ..
Nicely done 👍👌
Really nice
Great hunt!! It’s about the memories and adventures made with friends.
They don't even act like hunters, nor hunting friends!
You know the elk way out there when you yell at your buddy 635.
That means DONT SHOT FOOL..
Very nice,congratulations
You guys did 2 days and went home with your tale between your legs lol, I did 9 days straight this year and got finally got one. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy this video though and it was a good hunt, but can't get discouraged after 2 days. I'll admit after 9 days I was getting there lol
Great video, truly enjoyed it. The scenary is wonderful. Whereabouts in Wyoming is this?
“Hopefully there’s a silver lining at the end of this hunt” checks video *16 minutes left* oh yeah, there’s a silver lining
Assuming is legal to use a drone there while big game hunting?
What the heck man you actually got closer to an animal that you were going to shoot?! 🤭Over 900 you should be getting farther away. Lol. Good job I’m giving y’all a hard time about distance first time ever on this show someone actually got within respectable shooting distance. Well done congratulations on the bull.
Nice job Kregg. But where was the dance and the back flip?
Great video!
is this rifle based on a Remington700 system?
What cal. and ammo are you using for this hunt?
regards from Switzerland
Music way to loud while you talking, that was hard to watch...
Montana Wolf Hunting with Randy Newberg
What cartridge?
22 LR 🤓
You should take me on your next hunt
Game animals in Wyoming, Washington, Idaho, Montana , Utah, even California, also Canada are getting scarcer by the day , & it is NOT because of hunters it is due to depredation by predators ! In America’s west it is mainly WOLVES &Grizzly bear !! In many areas the Moose are down to the point , they are beyond recovery , without translating !! Go to u-tube ,Randy the real gun smith , & Brandon Pitcher on the carnage of WOLVES
Click on 2 or 3 wolf vids & you will get a sting of them and see the necessity of doing so
I would have shot that bull on day 1. No problem.
I’ve waited over 20 for a nw Colorado tag and I’m scared of a lot of the stuff this guy is talking about
Music is loud because these kids are NOT hunters. They are sort of poachers, with military sniper rifles designed to kill things you hate, from so far away it's considered SHAMEFUL! A hate crime, if you will!! Very sad to shot over 500 yds. 500 is pushing it.
Sorry but the first bull was bigger
Great hunt you for sure worked hard for that one , why do we Homo sapiens judge the quality of the meat by the size of the antlers, we know spikes taste better but we drive our selves to hunt for the biggest... enjoy those steaks as far as you had to pack him they have to be good lol.
Big set antlers usually means a LARGE bodied animal that will weigh 200 lbs more than an animal with a rack half as big !!
@@robertmintz63 no I think it means more people will watch the video.......
If you don’t have to whisper while shooting an elk your too far! That’s not fair chase when your shooting from another county!
I'll bet you think sitting in a tree stand over a pile of corn is fair chase though don't you.. grow up
Couldn't agree more, I think shooting your elk at 7 yards with dads old 30-06 is more to be proud of than 700 yards with a 15 000$ gunwerks rifle.
Why would anyone think hunting should be fair? LOL Maybe we should only bow hunt or use spears?
@@Saa45MIV You come on to a Gunwerks site and then complain about someone shooting an elk with a Gunwerks rifle? LOL
TexanUSMC8089 not complaining about the gun but the whole long range hunting to me is a joke, like buddy said above, if you are basically yelling and the animal can't hear you, that's not really hunting.. and I like gunwerks rifles, they may be ridiculous and total overkill for hunting but I still think they are cool if you have too much money.
pics or it didn't happen
Exhausted? Lol y'all rode horses...
Once again………. " Long Range " Shooting isn't About mounting a Scope to an Airgun, to hit a Target on a 100 Meter Distance! What Caliber, and what Distance do you shoot? Ironsights up to 600 Meters! get serious and don't suggest People Mountig a Scope on their .308, Shooting on 500 Meters is " Long Range " Shooting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
