- It has been a month since my last update and again, lots has changed. I am hoping to return to a state of normalcy but it will be at least a month before I am finished with the boat trip from Charleston to North Mississippi.

Hi Moose! My friend, you speak of a "trainwreck," but there has been so much more. You've taught and inspired us through your adventures, projects and even your mistakes. I admire you very much. Most of us are too timid to pursue our dreams because we fear the loss of perceived security. Don't get me wrong, I understand we are not kids anymore. I get that if one is not careful one may find himself in a "root hog or die" situation. Absolutely, a fella must think ahead and plan for the future, but he wants to live too. Living by the seat of your pants with gusto and imagination seems to be something for which you have a true knack. I know you are no fan of asking for help, but I wish you would consider setting up one of those "Buy Me A Coffee" accounts or something along those lines so those of us wishing to be good shipmates could help out a little here and there.
you can send $ to the email that is listed on his website..
Moose, your life has been a treasure to a lot of people. Just think of all the lives you have touched and helped, like Betty's. You obviously haven't given up! Remember, there is always someone that has a situation in life that is worse than yours. You have the Moose community pulling and praying for you. Keep us posted!
Thanks so much
Thank you very much for the update. I was really worried about you. You are such an inspiration. Keep your chin up friend. We make lemonade when life gives us lemons…. I hope you have a great visit with your daughters in Florida. Sending you giant hugs Moose.
Thanks so much
Moose--thanks so much for sharing all of this. It really helps to put what has happened to you recently in perspective. It sounds like you are now on a doable adventure. Wildlife photography from the boat sounds great. Do take time while on the Gulf to do some photography, since the wildlife there is so different from what's on the Tenn-Tom. Yes, please do some videos of the places you visit on this journey--I would love to see them.
Thanks, it has been a true epic adventure
Thank you for the update Moose. And for thinking of us long term followers who are wondering how things are going.. Wow you have had so many ups and downs, twists and turns. Enjoy the visit with your daughters. You need some family right now.
You are so welcome
I enjoyed the update. I really enjoy watching your travels. I love boats. You Are an Awesome Person. You have sooo many of us that love and admire you. We all have to deal with what comes in life. You Are an Inspiration to Us.
Thank you, it is good to know that I am not seen as just a nut or train wreck
What do your kids think of all this change? I’ve been following for years and I won’t stop but I grow concerned regarding your increasing erratic changes.
I get this same vibe from a lot of your videos that you have to go it your own way always 10000mph, but you’re not a quitter if you slow down. You aren’t a failure if you don’t see something through. You aren’t useless if you ask for help vs trying to do it all on your own. I know you don’t want to live in community and want to do these grandiose things, but you have a lot to offer helping people. You have led an extremely interesting life and have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. A community would be lucky to have you, plus you still can stick to yourself a lot, heck I barely know my neighbors. Hang in there man. All love from Michigan.
They have nit expressed an opinion
I AGREE with your comment 100%%%
Thanks for the update . I am thinking there are people who would sail the other boat from St Thomas just for the adventure . Seems like it would easier to sell in the US Especially in the gulf area. Just my thoughts . Hope all goes well for ya.good luck..
Thanks
Hang in there. I learn a lot watching
your vids. You have a lot to offer.
Thanks so much
Given the trajectory of recent videos and the title of this one, it is a relief (but not quite a surprise) to see you on a new adventure, "putting one foot in front of the other." We wish you the best and are looking forward to future episodes. Take care!
I keep pushing forward with some time backing up or at standstill
Quite an update. I hope, when you get situated in your new base, that you re-upload all the videos from your past endeavors. Sorted chronologically, in playlists. Your videos tell your story and it's a good one.
Thank you
Things could always be worse. You look well! Looking forward to what’s next and all the best on this next chapter.
Thanks so much
I really like the sound of the community vibe up in the marina. Moderate adventures lol. Thanks for tge update!
Thanks so much
I hope you have a nice visit with your daughter(s). Safe travels, Moose.
Hi Moose! Thank you for the update. I think you’re doing a great job adjusting to the changes that keep getting thrown at you! I’ll be here watching and praying for you! Stay safe!!!
Thank you Debbie
Mr Moose. 63 years old, stopped eating carbs, stopped all sugar, I eat meat, eggs, bacon 100 percent. In the first week lost 6 pounds and felt 100 percent better. Been doing that diet for 6 months now and 40 pounds lighter (240-200). Way more energy, last eye appointment I went from +2.50 contacts to +2.00 contacts. Everything about it has me feeling like I did 20 years ago. If it fancies you, do a bit of research on the Carnivor diet and see if it's something you might be interested in. Sugar is your mortal enemy. If I go to Sonic for a hamburger, I order 2 patties............no bread. Cravings for sugar are gone within about 4 days of eating 100 percent protein. I am not a doctor so do your own research. I also immediately started sleeping 7-8 hours without a wake up to pee, as opposed to about 4 hours on the bad diet. But you have to drink water like there is no tomorrow to stay hydrated. Everyone in the country could stand to lose some weight and eating meat and only meat (protein) was the ticket for me. Energy levels galore. And just FEEL 200 percent better.
Wow, will look into it
Appreciate the update Moose- been wondering where your wanders have taken you. For some reason I thought you were trailering the boat to Mississippi. I’m 65, so I understand how you slow down. The body ages but the mind is still young! Hope you’re able to get some exercise on the boat, maybe swimming some? Thanks for letting us know the latest status!
I wish I had a trailer and truck
Is it possible to add the boat’s listing link to the video description, so that we can forward it to anyone interested?
I do not think so, RUclips blocks links
Viewed the shore bird video few days ago. I have always enjoyed and learned from them. So of course I'll continue to lurk...
Yeah, at 69 im learning even van conversion can be a challenge. So i hear ya. On many levels. Shaking off a case of covid now too. We press on...thats something ive admired and been inspired by you.....
I am surprised how difficult some things have become, I need to learn new ways to get stuff done.
Sorry for the belated comment, I just came back from Europe yesterday. Dear Moose, I really honor your authenticity and resilience. I think your new plans seem very aligned with who you are, your strengths and interests. Never feel like you are a train wreck, see yourself as I see you: a courageous person that is ready to follow his dream through thick and thin and I personally honor and admire your resilience, responsibility, independence and how you never quit. To me, you're an inspiration my friend! I look forward to your upcoming adventures. Thank so much for the honest update. Lots of loving high vibes to you and to Betty for her journey as well. 💫💙🌊
Thank you dear and I hope your trip was enriching.
@@MooseHenderson1 It really was dear Moose. Thank you. My next step is that I'm moving to the West coast of Ireland: a dream I've had for all my life. I'm getting rid of my one room studio and selling to live my dream with one small suitcase and a bag. Freedom!!
@@thegroundedstarseeds Holy Toledo, a vagabond like me, with a PhD, no less

Hi moose, looking forward to the up and coming videos and take care my friend.
Thanks, you too!
My best wishes moose 🙏 God bless
Thanks
Great to see your update! Good health and all the best!
Thanks so much
You're an excellent teacher. I learned a lot from you on many differnt subjects. Thank you! ❤
You're very welcome!
Thanks!
Holy Toledo, thank you so very much. Thank you!!
@@MooseHenderson1 You are welcome. I want to see you get to where your going. Where ever that may be. Good luck. I will be watching.
@@decalboy4746 you inspire me to do more videos
love your channel and your amazing story.. you are doing a great job even when it seems like you are not
Thanks so much
Glad to see the update. Curious though, if you're going to end up staying someplace where the weather is hot, which you've expressed that you don't care for, wouldn't you rather do it closer to your family?
I have been thinking of that exact option
Great update! Inspirational ❤
Thanks so much!
2nd liker! Can’t wait for the videos to come 👍🏻
Thanks so much
Wow, I'm sorry it didn't work out in GA. Living not too far from where you filmed, I feel for you in this heat and humidity. Looks like pretty good weather in terms of no big storms coming for a few weeks. What do you do about noseeums, mosquitoes, and flies this time of year when the wind dies down? Wish you well.
I have screens for front hatch and companionway
Moose! You know what they say about stuff: you can't take it with you. Also, it's NEVER too late to start over. Many people don't even start, let alone start over. Wonder what it is that causes us to judge ourselves based on other people's opinions on how to live life? Comparison, methinks. Who sets us up to do that!?! Doesn't matter, really. But, it sure takes a lot of pressure off of us when we stop doing it. I don't know much, but I do know this - you are not a failure or a train wreck or anything like that. You are a beloved son of your Heavenly Father. He sees that big heart you have toward others. He sees your adventurous spirit. He sees your intelligence. He sees your hurts, your challenges, your desires. He is with you on your journey, whether it's in a tiny house, a boat, a casita, or whatever. The past is the past, friend. He is with you as you go forward. Godspeed!
I feel Him with me, we have had some interesting conversations
Moose, are you okay? I'm not getting any videos from you.
I have been dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Deby, I am okay.
Were you able to sell the partially-built tiny house?
I got a refund on trailer
It sounds like you know or believe in God . Have you ever asked what God wants you to do with your life?
I do and I have asked
Great update Moose. I know I am somewhat of a pollyanna, but I don't think your recent life has been a train wreck. I have seen /known people who didn't go anywhere but to work everyday, no travel, earning a low salary, and guess what,
it didn't end up giving them any security. Life can get complicated and I daresay we all have had our trainwrecks and financial setbacks, etc. You have done so many things, you have so many skills, you are highly educated. Success is measured is many ways, but most importantly, we need to define success as to what is important to ourselves. You like adventure, you like helping people. You may get down sometime, but you don't give up. I hope each day brings you success; and, if some" crap" happens along the way, I wish you continuing strength to see past the moment and to strive for your right to live as you please. I think you are amazing Moose. Keep moving' friend!🥰👋👍 and you are debt free, how many people can say that? Not me! got that mortgage and hoping property taxes/insurance do not escalate to take it all away. And I am 67. I do have some land and your tiny home adventures have made me believe that if it all fails, I can head there and put a tiny home on it and live out my days. So thank you for sharing so much of your life via RUclips and videos. 👋💢👍💪❤
You are always so supportive
Thanks for the update Moose, good luck. ❤
Moose thanks for the update. Yes, you've had some bumps and bruises but from what you describe it's just life happening and not a train wreck. I'm also 68 and find life changes difficult but the wisdom I possess helps me. You possess wisdom also. As we used to say in the 1960s, keep on keepin on! Love you.
Keeping on
how did you happen to pick the marina in Mississippi? Do you have friends there?
Also curious . . .
Research live aboard marina and a friend pass there twice and liked it
Thanks for the update Moose and stay safe. Take care---Jimmy
Thanks, you too!
Great video Moose. We continue to live vicariously through you.
More to come!
I have had a CP 23 in the past on the Hudson, great sturdy boat, like you. How do you deal with the heat?
It has not been easy, usually find something to do during heat of day and good fans for nights
It's a shame you couldn't find a place closer to your daughters to dock the boat. Could you get someone to sail the other boat up for you? Then sell it or whatever. Just to clarify, the housing I mentioned before would basically be an apartment where they consider your income. Maybe take a percentage of your social security? Someone was trying to explain it to me a while ago. But it may be in an area that also offers services for long term care in other buildings. We have a local elderly apartment building in our town where people come from other states to live. Not sure how that specific one works. Just enjoy the ride. The goal is not the end but enjoying the time between now and the end. (destination) You can't go backwards. You can only move forward.
Safe travels best wishes to you on your new adventure!
Thanks so much!
👍🏻♥️
Thanks for the update.
Your life seems like a constant adventure. That's great.
I would prefer that to the opposite.
It looks so relaxing sitting in the boat like that.
It sounds like your new destination will be a good place.
Sorry your other plans didn't work out. I am about 3 years
behind you so I am very interested in what you do.
I am semi retired / self employed and not sure what I will do when / if I
stop working. I wish you all the best and will be watching.
I love to be busy, help others on my terms, try new stuff, etc. you will find the same mix soon.
@@MooseHenderson1 Thank you
