Dear friend, you have all my admiration and I honor your courage for facing the reality of things and sharing with us how things are. We care for you very much and all we want is for you to be happy and to be safe. I love your new plans which seem very reasonable for present and future. I'm secretly excited that you are building a new tiny because I'm in love with tinys and I can't wait to follow the step by step building process. I'm like you, living in a one room studio, no car, no money and I'm ok with that. My joy is not in what I own but the people I love and help as well as my projects. Take great care of yourself, my friend 🙏💙💫
Long time viewer here and boy am I glad sailing adventures are scrubbed. Like you adventure calls to my soul and my mind has more fortitude than my body at this stage of life so I’m learning how to find excitement in “safer” ways. So glad for the support system your friends are for you and looking forward to the new tiny house build. I see something very different in your inner being Moose and wishing all the best to you and your future.
Moose, documenting your tiny house build will be epic! A lot of people can benefit from learning about this, and you have the experience to know the ins and outs and what to do and how to do it. This is just a new adventure, like all your other ones. Sounds like you have a safety net of friends that have your back! That is worth more than money. Hope you keep your positive attitude and I'm looking forward to the new videos!
I'm actually happy for you. I do have a suggestion for your eyesight. Diet, sungazing, fresh air, sunshine - no pharmaceuticals. Try to detox from all the hidden toxins. I've gotten so much better for it, myself, Moose! This farm is GORGEOUS! I hope you can stay there permanently. :)
Sorry to hear this. I missed this video when it came out. I hope your boat sells quickly at a fair price and you are able to bounce back on your feet again.
Looking forward to seeing your new project. I'll admit, I was a bit worried about seeing you sail off and having a medical incident take place all alone out at sea, so I'm glad that that didn't happen. And now since you have experience with tiny houses, it should be very easy for you to build the perfect home for you! Much love and respect! ❤
Moose! Don’t be too hard on yourself. We all suffer from the human condition. Now, you won’t have to say, “Gee, I wish I’d tried to do some sailing before my eyesight got too bad.” You know what ya can’t do now, so yay! Love the spot you are in, looks peaceful. A great place to build, ponder, rest, plan, build some more, and keep on keeping on. Peace and prayers, bro. ✌️🙏
Being addicted to change is one possibility. Making one poor decision after another is also a possibility. As one who has done the latter I wish you well Moose and maybe the tenth time is a charm!!
Just like the weather, always changing. I can relate to your affliction. (Neofile) To me you seemed happiest at the tiny home in the UP. I think you may stick with the new tiny home. Only recommendation I have is when building Don’t go top of the line. Basics are cheaper and simpler. Rent equipment when possible. Good luck with your new adventure.
Moose, Glad to hear your OK, we all have problems! I might not be able to sail with you to bring back the boat, BUT, I can pull your tiny house where you might need it to be, even if it's digikey in MN. I will be following your adventure and praying everything works out for you. As always, we are in it for the long haul with you. God bless.
Wish! If youll be done in 5 wks, i will miss it. Heading to mammoth springs, little rock, crater of diamonds on the 11 - 23. I will be watching on the road though! My thoughts and prayers for a safe build !
a real little house in the prairie moment, lol thank goodness for kindness to others praying that your boat sells quickly and for a great price, someone is going to be very happy to buy your boat!! wish i was nearby to lend a hand, please do keep us all up to date on this unexpected adventure
I certainly will keep you all along for the ride. I love sharing and I need to make a little from the video monetizations to fund this new tiny house. So, watching is one of the best ways to help
What a beautiful spot to build your tiny house. I am pleased that you have a secure place to stay, to make good plans and good choices for the future. Look forward to following your journey.
It sounds like you have a good plan, Moose. Take your time, get the tiny house built, and start looking at areas where you could put the tiny house permanently and have access to public transportation. That way, you will have a solid base of operations. You could even travel by bus or train for adventures.
The whole world is open to me, I will carefully select my next home. I really enjoyed the homestead, I hope I can find something similar that takes lots of work and provides great exercise.
Hi Moose! That land is so beautiful that you are staying right now! I sure do miss the east and all of its greenery. I too like a life of changes. Just circumstances keep me from wandering too much. You know , life is short , so I understand your wanderlust and your adventurous side. I am glad you can get deliveries from Lowes/Home Depot, etc. I use their delivery systems almost exclusively now when I order things. Often, with the smaller items, there's not even a delivery charge. (I don't understand how, but , oh well...gift horse.etc). Having a vehicle is so expensive these days. Beyond the cost of buying one, there's the insurance and maintenance. $$$$ flying out the window.! Anyway, I am excited to watch your build , and to see you taking your time to enjoy the build==all good too. You make me wish I could do that. So hopefully the boat sells and that will give you a bit of a nest egg for your projects. Great to see you again Moose, and may each day bring you happiness and love! 🥰👋👋👍👍
You've worn a lot of hats in your life. Excited to see the new tiny house. Think twice before building a loft. Old bones and climbing aren't compatible....ask me how I know🙄 It looks like a really lovely location!
I'm surprised you are building another tiny house? Did you find the Casita too small? I like my 10x24 wood framed, tiny house but if I had to start over I think I would use a smaller cargo trailer or the box off of an old box truck? I find I spend 99% of my home time in a space 8x16. I don't want a loft as my knees are too old for climbing. 🤪
I'm pretty sure there are people near you in Georgia that have been living in the same 'travel trailer' for over 30 years. Converting a cargo trailer to a 'camper' is a lot less physical work than building a tiny house (I've done both.). Cargo trailers are built better than travel trailers, or mobile homes, and you can insulate them like an ice cream freezer truck. 🤪
Looking forward to your build. I have been a long time follower of your journey and am much more excited about tiny houses than sailboats. I would also like to build a tiny house but have health concerns myself and I don’t know anywhere that you can have them that has public transportation. I currently live in Ohio. Can’t wait to see what you come up with.
Hello Moose. I like this plan. It seems alot safer anyway. A neophile huh? I wouldnt sweat it too much, friend. I think a much worse "personality type" are those who feel the need to label everyone with a "personality type" 🙂. If your not harming anyone, including yourself, you dont have a problem at all. Happy for you and your new plan.
Thanks for the update. What does the tee shirt say? Maybe post your plans to get some input and ideas. Just about the time you were going to start out the second time I saw a movie on YT called The Sailor. Looks like it was filmed on the islands.
Making this video in many ways must have been hard as you commented as an example of how one has to admit that he or she is an alcoholic. Now that you understand your condition, you can move forward as you now are doing. You said you have purchased a trailer. May I ask if this tiny home will be similar to your vardo trailer you had while in Wyoming? Or will your tiny home be similar in size to the one you sold most recently? Whatever size the home, I know it will be magnificent looking once completed. I sure hope your sailboat will sale quickly so you can move forth at a greater pace. I am glad that you have shelter & are helping a friend. Good luck in the weeks ahead Moose as you begin this new build.
You poor thing. I think all of us viewing knew the rebuilding of a worm-infested boat and sailing it around the world, would never happen. Do indeed take the advice of a group of trusted friends, as you mentioned you would start doing. And, I suggest you should do exactly what they say. Will you find it difficult to find a place to park it close to a city so you will have public transportation? We sailed on the Great Lakes into our 50’s then when our younger children left home it was too difficult for us to sail on our own. So now in our mid 70’s we have a trailer to camp in and that too may be coming to an end in the next 5 years.

It was probably nice while it lasted. The sad truth is that time is not on your or my side. Would it be possible for you to get a elderly apartment style rental that takes your income into consideration? Possibly in a elderly community? I am concerned that you will put all your money into a tiny house and not be able to afford a place to put it or transportation. When you first bought the boat, I thought it might have been close to one of your daughters in Florida. But it obviously was not. I am thinking about what happens a little later down the road. Maybe you could build the tiny home and later sell it for more money? The intentionally created higher cost of living is putting stress on people with fixed incomes. We have a lot of people that come to our area from larger cities to beg for money. They all stand at the same exact locations and create the same kind of signs. While watching them I have noticed the people that seem to be living in their vehicles that don't beg. We now have a older man living in a old RR building next to the tracks. He can be seen dumpster diving at times. A manager at the local Walmart told me they had a woman living in their parking lot for 8 months. She refused to take help. One woman was living in the local park with her son after being thrown out of their rental. She died in her vehicle. You aren't all the way down yet. Be careful.
