Hello Jeff, You and your band are as good, or better than any other pop band ever! What a pleasure watching and lisening to you and you great songs.--Bob W.
I just want to say that was one hell of a concert , God Bless you Jeff and to all of the ELO People . That was my first time seeing ELO live. I will never forget it, Enjoy your retirement Jeff.
@@fmagalhaes1521 me too,Saw them first in 73 or 74 here in Memphus, they had a circular stage that revolved at the Mid-South Coliseum here in Memphis.Wow,they sounded Fantastic and played All the Classic's just exceptionally Great.Would have loved to have been there.♥️🎶💯
I was 11 years old when this song came out in 1976. I had no idea how special this was back then. I just knew that I loved it. In my limited experience, I hadn't heard anything like it. That hasn't changed 48 years later. A timeless masterpiece by one of the greatest musical minds of our generation. What a year 1976 was for music! ELO, Fleetwood Mac, Boston, Kansas, Al Stewart, Aerosmith, Frampton, Styx. Just wow!!!
Yes!!! I got my first stereo for my 10th Birthday in April 1976. It had a record player and 8-track that could record and receiver. My first blank tape was used to record ELO's New World Record off the radio which had just been released (they were playing Livin' Thing on the radio for a few days) - I had that tape and Led Zep II on record. I listed to Zep quite a bit, but wore out that ELO tape - til Christmas, when I had asked for Toys in the Attic (my neighbor had let me borrow his copy for a week that summer - and loved it) - I was disappointed to open the 8-track for Aerosmith "Rocks" and thought - WTH is this??? The record store told my mom that this was the new Aerosmith...well, til this day, Rocks and New World Record are 2 of my all-time favorite records ever! Also love Rumors, Frampton Comes Alive and Boston's debut I believe to be the greatest debut ever...What a year! What a time to be alive! How crappy is today's music???
@@toddschuster1039 I agree with all of your sentiments. I remember hearing Walk This Way in ‘76 as an 11 year old and was so blown away by it. I went to the record store and asked for the new Aerosmith record and they handed me “Rocks”. I looked for the song on there and obviously couldn’t find it. So I asked the clerk which album walk this way was on. He pointed me to toys in the attic. I came home with two albums that day. LOVE that era of Aerosmith. The deep cuts off both of those albums are just sick. And Boston’s debut is to this day still my all time favorite album.
The thing about Jeff and all his bands is that the performers obviously just love the music - they would do it for nothing ... true artists. Just fabulous and uplifting to the soul and every instrument is great - THANK YOU 😘😘💖💖😲😲☺☺
I drove all the way to Boston from Iowa to see this show with my wife. So glad we did! It was my last chance to see Jeff Lynne & Co., and no way were we going to miss it. The best show I've ever seen! Bucket List item checked off!
Yeah this year so many of my music stars got old , Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsted, Billy Joel and now Jeff Lynn , Thanks all of you for the memories! God Bless Rock N Roll
I am SO angry that I didn't hear about this concert until it was too late to make arrangements to go to the concert! I saw them in the early '80s when I was stationed in Berlin and "Out of the Blue" is still the album I play when I need to forget life and feel better.
@@Ozwald214 No, not at all! You are listening to recorded playback from a cell-phone with a small non-stereo microphone over a computer speaker. The actual audio in the stadium was excellent, you cannot recreate what was heard on a cell-phone.
@Ruger1022 I think you are also hearing the person who is doing the video singing along. I was there at the show and it was tough not to sing along. Jeff and the band were amazing. As other ppl said, worth every penny!
I saw it in Saint Paul. I’m only 15 and yet loved Elo for so long now. This was first concert and one of the best memories yet. When the last part of mr blue sky played it was a sad 😢 but awesome moment for me. Finally getting to experience what I’ve been waiting for for years
I live near Cincinnati and didn't find out he was going to be there until after the concert. So we traveled over 4 hours to see him in Nashville. I grew up with this music and have been a fan for over 40 years. This was my first time to see them and worth every penny. Jeff is a musical genius and i wouldn't have missed it for the world, even if he wasn't as sharp as in his younger days.
Cincinnati was a great concert. I drove over four hours to see it myself. I never knew Riverfront Coliseum, err, Heritage Bank Arena had such great sightlines.
This music brings back a flood of memories - when this music was released. What a different era. Going to a record store for hours - looking at all the bizarre album covers. Every purchase was a must - there was some reason you HAD to have the record. THEN, you overplayed certain records which would be totally scratched over time.
Jeff is one of two surviving members of The Traveling Wilburys. Bob Dylan being the other. The music he helped create with TTW is some of his best work. ELO are in the RRHF.. Quite an accomplishment.
Can anyone tell me what Jeff said between songs when he mentioned this was the last tour - he said something after that I missed. The guy next to me had a few too many and decided to be very loud at that moment!
Damn it to hell. I wish I could afford to take my son & daughter to these shows, like I used to go to in the 70's. I saw ELO in 1975 and it cost $8.50. For this current tour it's over $2000 for 3 tickets. These tickets should cost $30 to $40 each which is still 3000% inflation from 1975. Thanks Live Nation and Ticket Master. You both suck
@@duanerice6047 Surprisingly good! I’d never heard of them before but they’ve got some catchy, fun songs. I added a few tracks to my music library after their set
@@charleslynch9822Surely a great show. But excellent singing from Jeff? Nonsense. He struggles with some notes and also with his guitar playing. Logical that he retires after this tour
Hater go comment on what you like this way your life will be less miserable. The show in person was the very best i have ever seen among legendary bands. Jeff Lynne is 77.
He's 77, has stood on stage and sang these songs thousands of times. He's old, has a million road miles on him, he's going out gracefully. He doesn't have the voice and emphasis he once did,. I've noticed in a few cities he's been hardly able to play anymore and his voice isn't what it was when I saw him in the 70s. Phil Collins even admitted towards the end of his performing, they wrapped tape around his hands to hold the drumsticks. Jeff's onstage days are very limited, he's still going out giving it his all🎉
Hey man did you see him live? I saw him twice on this Tour in Toronto and New York in 2024 and it was spectacular. Best live concerts i have ever seen among many legendary bands. Jeff Lynne is the very best!
