Tool started in 1990 and have had their current lineup since 1995. Danny Carey is 58, and yeah this is a recent video. This song is off their new album.
Tool Army Here, Tool has been a band since 1990, so that makes it 30 years, and still going strong they have won 3 Grammy's including for 7empest off their new album. Danny Carey is #5 on the list of best drummers in history. He is 6'5 and 58 years old, he has height, strength, wisdom, and talent, makes him a beast. Please check out TOOL (Parabol/Parabola) it is a two part song first half slow and melodic second half beautiful and uplifting.
Seen TOOL 7 times, their concerts are so chill. No moshing or shit like that. Just one big family passing joints around listening to some of the most amazing music/ musicians.
Polyrhythms! He can play different time signature with each different appendage. I saw their very last show on March 11 in Portland before they had to stop touring. I’ve seen them twice before that they were always amazing in concert even the previous Portland show were Meynard had a sinus infection he still cranked it. Danny always brings it
1996 was my first show, i have seen them 14 times since then , the energy you experience is unlike any concert you will ever go to, words can not explain it. It is something you must experience first hand for yourself
Hi mate, Freddie G from down under. I have seen them 10 times. It’s a surreal experience that melts your face. Pure fire. The crowd follow the energy of the song that’s right in front of them.
I’ve seen them live 3 times by now, and it’s me most amazing thing you’ll ever witness in a rock band man, there’s no one and never will be no one like TOOL! Peace 🤟🏻
... last Summer i saw them for the 7th time and it´s a wild ceremony Brother with mind bending Visuals and a band that is live even better then on record. PURE LOVE. Do it! Peace ...
The hardest part about learning to play the drums is teaching all your limbs to to work independently, which Danny has mastered. Some people cant even rub their belly and pat their head at the same time.
Tool is the best band of all time. Seen them live twice and the vibe is indescribable everyone is in a trance and it’s ridiculous how good they are live.
That's the song that got me to play drums. I just played the beginning drum lick over and over again because it was the coolest shit I had heard at that time.
Danny Carey is just ridiculously amazing man! This level of drumming shouldnt even be possible when your 58. He definitely takes care of his body eats right and doesnt smoke..but damn man! Are any of us actually playing drums i think not after i listen to this guy!
Manu Lol 😂 Then it’s probably not going to help to add that I also watched soundcheck, got a photo with the band, and was served a chef-prepared meal with dessert before the show.
Imagine the investment of time it takes to write and perform something that complex and intricate. It's a massive investment in time. Now, imagine in the time it takes you to ascend to that level of competency through practice and learning, you also have to physically maintain your ability to competently perform at that level as your body ages and continues to degrade. It's like Kobe draining shots at 80 years old on all the new bucks coming up. Danny Carey is 58 years old, he certainly has the mental ability from his years of study - but he ALSO has the physical conditioning to execute at the same level that 20-year-olds can. Does anyone truly comprehend how rare and special that level of mastery is? That's some "wizard" level shit.
I do bro, is fucking crazy, for that level of drumming he needs to behave like a pro athlete when touring, a diet, gym, good sleep and suplements, is not just about the speed, he hits the drums and cymbals really hard.
And that´s why he wants to make a new tool album during the quarentine, he knows he´s at his prime, and he´s afraid of loosing it with the age, he already said that he won´t be able to do more than 2 more Tool albums.
Maynard correct sounding = May-nerd First shows were in 91-92 Seen them 4 times, 3x at Ozzfest and it is always a surreal experience. Maynard is an anomaly. Carey is a phenomenon. There is little question that this is one of the most intense and abundantly talented groups ever in any genre, ever.
I had tickets to see them here in Michigan, but then Covid-19 happened... I am truly pissed off and hurt. I hope their touring roster is re planned whenever this crazy time is over. It's the one thing on my life bucket list that I haven't checked off yet!
they started in 1990. released a demo in '91, an ep in '92, first album in '93. then changed their sound and got a new bass player for their next release in '96. other albums are '01, '06, and '19. seen them live twice. it's amazing and very trippy. lots of visuals, fog, and lasers.
There is a whole list of songs from Tool to react to. 46 &2, Lateralus, Schism, Parabol/Parabola (make sure you react to these together), The Grudge, Aenima, Wings for Marie (pt 1 and 2), 7empest. Those should get you started. Try to find lyric videos for them. The lyrics are deep and intricate. You have now enterd the rabbit hole...….spiral out!
Everyone talks about Danny's drumming, rightfully so. The thing that's over looked, but that's really impressive is the fact that Maynard is deep into his 50s, but his voice is just as strong as it was in the 90s. If you want to see what normally happens to singers, especially rock singers who do a lot of screaming/singing, go watch some recent Guns n Roses live video and listen to Axl's voice. He can still sound like he did back in the day, but for about 15 minutes, and then his voice is shredded.
I saw their 26th gig in 1992 at a place called th OZ in Seattle. I still have the ticket stub. We went to see a Henry Rollins and "special guests"... They were special alright it was fucking Tool and they blew our damn minds! I bought their EP there. I don't know how many times I've seen them but it's in the 15 to 20 times. Never missed a show in WA and traveled to many. Saw them in SD this year and have tickets to Tacoma which is delayed of course. Their shows are pretty mellow now other than festivals. One of the wildest shows was rock on the range in 2018. I have pit video that is insane old school mosh from hell. It was also cool to see Tool and a perfect circle play the same festival. People will be asking you to do APC soon if they haven't already. Subbed for more Tool! Eric
Penny Rogers i know Penny i know you been asking me for a long time ever since i started my channel i’m sorry dude i just been grinding my butt off trying to make everyone happy but again i’m sorry for taking so long but now i’m here 💪🏾💪🏾💯💯
hey man, I enjoyed this video. I love this song and hearing it with someone new is always a good time.. for future videos IF you're interested, I recommend Animals As Leaders, and Clouckicker. let me know what you think.. if it happens, Ill be watching, If not, you are missing out my man. Have a good evening.
He’s a true basketball fan, why he always wears BB uniforms while he plays. He’s 6’ 5” and was offered a basketball scholarship but turned it down to play music. He’s a beast
Damn, my guy wasted no time! Holy shit, thanks so much for doing this bro. I haven’t even watched yet, but I was too happy to not thank you for getting to it. Go back to the beginnings now, check out Sober. We’ll talk after that 🤘🏼
good lord man, stop interrupting every 20 seconds! Danny Carey is ONE of the top drummers in history, but Neil Peart, Rush drummer, was called the "Professor" for a reason, he was & will always be the best drummer. Watch this one & you will see what I mean Neil Peart drum solo (Frankfurt) Professor passed away earlier this year.
For me, I have a only ever seen TooL indoors. Which is a way different concert experience than an outdoor one. However, in my opinion, I like indoor concerts better for them. I smoke a fair bit of cannabis before I go into the venue. Find my seat, and just drift away so it's like i'm the only person there and it's just me and the music.
I had the pleasure of seeing TOOL live in Raleigh, NC last November. Danny Carey is a musical god. I can only compare it to seeing Michael Jordan in 96.
Nice reaction 👍 Some other Tool songs you should listen to next are The Pot, Invincible, Vicarious and Lateralus. Avoid the official Tool song videos, just do the audio vids. Pull up the lyrics 😊
Many tool fans take shit a bit to seriously and its a known fact for folks who've seen them live. I want to hear the band also, not fans who won't shut the fuck up! But at the same time you want to enjoy pll to enjoy themselves. If notice, its pretty quite so the band can be heard. BTW Danny's almost 60!
I looked through your uploads.. nice list of reactions.. but.. (and if i overlooked it i apologize).. but did not see any Jinjer.. best metal band since pantera.. female fronted.. Tatiana is probably the best singer/vocalist in metal in the world.. please let me suggest Pieces.. (the zodiac sign) Teacher teacher.. Perennial.. live Retrospection.. (a tribute to family) .. you will thank me later!!😁😁😎😎😎
Tool started in 1990 and have had their current lineup since 1995. Danny Carey is 58, and yeah this is a recent video. This song is off their new album.
I've seen them 3 times and its just a lot of people staring in almost a trance. Tool shows are chill as fuck
I was gonna say the exact same thing lol!
They are now. They weren’t on the Lateralus tour and we had several telling younger people to stop moshing and watch the crazy light show.
It's amazing how 3 guys and singer can perform a full symphony.
When God wanted drum lessons he called Danny Cary.
I believe this man is 59 years old! We should all be inspired by him to be better at whatever we do. What a talent. Legendary band!
I’m so tired of people comparing Danny Carey to God.. I mean he’s cool and all but he’s no Danny Carey
Yes, I agree!
🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭💀💀💀
I like where that went.
Every time I have seen them live has been a spiritual experience, no joke.
Glad you've found Tool! They're a diamond in the dust. I would suggest the following:
The Pot
The Grudge
Lateralus
Jambi
Danny Carey was 58 years old during this. LOLOL!
Tool Army Here, Tool has been a band since 1990, so that makes it 30 years, and still going strong they have won 3 Grammy's including for 7empest off their new album. DOPE REACTION!!!
Haha It’s pronounced like May-Nerd
Seen TOOL 7 times, their concerts are so chill. No moshing or shit like that. Just one big family passing joints around listening to some of the most amazing music/ musicians.
I was going to see them for the first time in Sacramento in June, but it has been postponed for now.
They need to bring their asses back to Europe. I need to see them.
No moshing is a joke seen them several times and mosh pits are crazy. Especially if they play hooker with a penis.
thehalfnavajo We’re more chill here in Texas.
thehalfnavajo It’s TOOL, not Lamb Of God. They don’t even liked to be called “Metal”.
I've seen them live 10 times and there's honestly no good way to describe it. They're on an entirely different planet.
This was off their brand new album. How bout jumping back in time, try Undertow. You playing Tool, we all sub.

Danny Carey created Earth so He'd have somewhere to drum.
Facts
Tool Army UNITE!!!!!
Hi mate, Freddie G from down under. I have seen them 10 times. It’s a surreal experience that melts your face. Pure fire. The crowd follow the energy of the song that’s right in front of them.

I've seen them live once this past November in Toronto. Epic af even with my ridiculously high expectations . Tool are the truth. Best band ever imho.
The hardest part about learning to play the drums is teaching all your limbs to to work independently, which Danny has mastered. Some people cant even rub their belly and pat their head at the same time.
Danny Carey always has next.
🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
Love from the Tool Army! Cheers!
His nickname is “The Octopus “. You listen to Tool ,we will ride the train with you.
I thought Nico McBrain was "The Octopus"
Tool family 💪🏻❤🤙🏻😎
Tool The Pot. Happy 420 2020
I have seen them live. The energy from the crowd and the energy from them makes you wonder how the stadium hasn't crumbled
Tool is the best band of all time. Seen them live twice and the vibe is indescribable everyone is in a trance and it’s ridiculous how good they are live.
Seen tool 10 times. Twice this year in AZ. He’s 58!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the sound that is TooL. The army has your back.
I've seen them twice and they get better every time
I've seen tool love. I was so drunk I don't remember much. I do remember however they didn't play the song sober, and I was pissed
That's the song that got me to play drums. I just played the beginning drum lick over and over again because it was the coolest shit I had heard at that time.
Nice double pun there
This was recorded this year... Danny turns 59 years old next month (b. 5/10/61)
Saw them in Portland right before the COVID-19 lockdown started. Amazing performance
Seen them 14 times , best show on earth
HELL YEAAAAAAA!!! Have to smoke before I watch this one, be back in a second..... lol
Danny Carey is just ridiculously amazing man! This level of drumming shouldnt even be possible when your 58. He definitely takes care of his body eats right and doesnt smoke..but damn man! Are any of us actually playing drums i think not after i listen to this guy!
Loving your Tool reactions keep them coming mate👍
Danny is a big basketball fan. I believe he had custom jerseys made for every NBA team on this tour.
tyedye 28304 He was wearing a white rip city jersey number zero with his name on the back in the Portland March 11 show
He was wearing a white with gold center stripe set in Raleigh.
It's the best live show I have ever seen.
I’ve seen them several times... including at THIS concert. I was in the 4th row here.
Manu Lol 😂 Then it’s probably not going to help to add that I also watched soundcheck, got a photo with the band, and was served a chef-prepared meal with dessert before the show.
Manu Same! And agreed; I’ve earned what I have, but I absolutely didn’t do any of it alone and I’m thankful every day.
I am a TOOL fan. I just pushed that sub button.

Chuck Norris can literally do everything, except play drums like Danny Carey....
Hahaha this is great.
You have discovered the Achilles Heal of Chuck Norris! Ha! You have won sir.
Well done, good sir. Well done.
Lmao
I wish my brother had seen this he passed on and was a Tool fan like I am forever.
Day one would be "back in '92, on the first EP"
That was one Cold and Ugly day...
Sip your coke, OGT.
I had tickets to see them here in Michigan, but then Covid-19 happened... I am truly pissed off and hurt. I hope their touring roster is re planned whenever this crazy time is over. It's the one thing on my life bucket list that I haven't checked off yet!
Tool is their own entity and genre enjoy!!!
they started in 1990. released a demo in '91, an ep in '92, first album in '93. then changed their sound and got a new bass player for their next release in '96. other albums are '01, '06, and '19.

TOOL EQUALS SUBBED.
After this I will check out the other TOOl vids you have and then I will blow up your comments with my requests.
Yeah Danny is 6'5. He had scholarships for college. Every arena they play in he has the hometown Jersey on.
In my opinion Tool have been together since The Universe was Born to hold The Darkness at bay.
The Tool Army is no joke.
Tool army man!
I've seen them live twice in Orlando and once in Daytona Beach, FL. It was amazing.
I saw them in Daytona Beach in 2002. Amazing show.
Awesome stuff bud! Keep the Tool coming. Invincible is next on the album. Cheers!

Welcome to TOOL...
Just FYI, at one point in this song, Danny is maintaining a different time signature with each limb.
🎶
Saw them live at their last concert in Portland on 3/11 (about a week after the Vic Firth video you watched). Yeah, they sounded even better live!
The Grudge
hey man, I enjoyed this video. I love this song and hearing it with someone new is always a good time.. for future videos IF you're interested, I recommend Animals As Leaders, and Clouckicker. let me know what you think.. if it happens, Ill be watching, If not, you are missing out my man. There is 1 in 7.5 billion of us that can do this drum set.
Damn, my guy wasted no time! Holy shit, thanks so much for doing this bro. I haven’t even watched yet, but I was too happy to not thank you for getting to it. Go back to the beginnings now, check out Sober. We’ll talk after that 🤘🏼

Maynard..think of may as in month then nard..keep up the great work bro
pronounced may-nerd.

I was an OGT back from ‘92.
...jokes aside, I actually was 😅
Also, the only 3 concerts I’ve been to have been TOOL & they ruined me on live shows...I refuse to see any other band live.
Haha. That was fast
I had the pleasure of seeing TOOL live in Raleigh, NC last November. Danny Carey is a musical god. I can only compare it to seeing Michael Jordan in 96.
Now u gotta do invincible and descending, best songs on the album imo, do studio versions as the live recordings for those arent good quality.
Yeah this is the only high quality live recording
Lol yeah Danny has been wearing jerseys during live shows for years now. He wears a jersey of the team of the city they’re at.
Seen them live in 2019. Their energy is private.
It's May-nard
Nice reaction 👍 Some other Tool songs you should listen to next are The Pot, Invincible, Vicarious and Lateralus. Avoid the official Tool song videos, just do the audio vids. Pull up the lyrics 😊

“It’s pretty easy, but not that easy at the same time” How about ...It’s impossibly complex and clever.
You dont have to be under any substance to be high as fuck at a tool concert. It is unbelievable.
He was 58 when this was filmed
I looked through your uploads.. nice list of reactions.. but.. (and if i overlooked it i apologize).. but did not see any Jinjer.. best metal band since pantera.. female fronted.. Tatiana is probably the best singer/vocalist in metal in the world.. please let me suggest
Pieces.. (the zodiac sign)
Teacher teacher..
Perennial.. live
Retrospection.. (a tribute to family)
.. you will thank me later!!😁😁😎😎😎
Dig in bro.. they will take you for a ride.. in a good way
