Bourne versus Desh is a great fight scene! Desh was a formidable opponent. Age difference is not much of a factor. Bourne's experience outweighs that of Desh. Would like to see a break down off Bourne versus the Asset. Great fight scene with both literally having equal experience and skill set.
Identity a pen, supremacy a rolled up thick magazine, ultimatum a small towel holy fuck I love how brutal and disturbing the fight scenes are in the Bourne trilogy. Especially when he has to choke Desh to death pulling on the opposite ends of the towel. So brutal and unsettling
I love how Jeff made give each character that he is working with whether it be Jason bourne or equalizer or the book of eli.they all have their own moves
@@JoeyBslash3he should be hired by Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman) or Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim) since Brad Allen fight choreographer of those movies passed away in 2020 😔😔
+spiderswebs william Yeah, I actually liked the shaky cam and quick cut editing effect. The fight scene itself was great, but film after this one exploited the filming techniques they used here and in the previous one, Supremacy. Actio films that followed used these filming techniques to hide crappy choreography or stuntwork sometimes
They used the camera to hide the bad overall performance of damon and the shakey camera and constant moving made it look better because someone like damon cant do these multiple move full speed fight sequences and this technique hides a lot of it. The guy playing desh is good and he can do these types of scenes but damon cant. I think the film with Jeremy Renner was better as far as fight sequences because hes very precise doing stunt work which is why his scenes show him taking guys down at full speed doing multiple step moves and the camera tricks aren't needed.i know that ppl hate the Bourne legacy movie but still Renner has much better fight scenes than the ones damon has in the other movies. That's why I love scott adkins movies because he does constant full speed multiple step moves that last around 10 seconds before they change the camera angle and the things he does in his combat scenes are literally the best of any action star, not just the undisputed movies but all of his films are shot the same way him doing long sequences before they change camera angle and cut and his fighting style always changes based on the character he plays. But they are always well choreographed and then he performs each scene with amazing speed and different martial arts styles that also are done in a way that makes them feel more believable considering there's never any camera angle tricks or wires or edited and sped up to seem faster he really goes all out and does the fights at amazing speeds while performing the best moves and most complicated that you'll see an actor perform in a movie. It's also why he takes a beating while shooting fight scenes cuz they constantly get hurt or hit each other accidentally because if one of the 2 is slightly off then one is likely taking a shot or just the general throws and takedowns are hard on the body and they normally have 6 weeks or less to shoot every fight in his movies due to the budget.look up adkins if you've never heard of him or seen his dozens of fight scenes there very good hes an amazing martial artist. He even tore mcl on set once and had to shoot next 3 movies wearing a brace which you can see occasionally through his pants and then by his movement and how he changed his fight styles and certain movements to stay off that knee much as possible. Then he had the surgery but that's amazing. I think the 3 films were universal soldier day of reckoning assasination games and I'm blanking on the last one. Oh I think it was el gringo which is one the brace is more obvious and then how he favors that leg but all still were loaded with insane fights especially universal soldier in which he fights through entire army of unisols and then dolph lundgren and john claude van dame. Worth watching seriously regardless of how his movies are normally b tier movies which is ridiculous that he hasn't been given roles in big action movies and the ones he has like Bourne ultimatum hes just a guy who gets taken down by Bourne with the other guy hes with like nothing probably because damon couldn't do a scene with adkins at full speed and hed show up the star character and they don't want that.same thing in the expendables 2. An action movie yet his much longer fight scene with Jason statham was cut by like nearly 7 minutes because apparently the scene would of made statham look bad due to the insane shit scott was doing and even though Jason was going to ultimately win he had the entire scene cut down to adkins throwing a few kick combos and then statham takes out 2 sets of brass knuckles and then punches his incoming kicks and pushes his head into helicopter rotors and kills him.even in the expendables the guy cant get a break . He did play weapon xI in xmen origins wolverine which he did amazing in but ppl hated the portrayal of the version of deadpool. Doesn't change the way he fought was exactly right to how deadpool would. Now the deadpool movies are good but besides being in the black and red suit the fighting scenes are fake and he constantly gets his ass kicked and heals which isnt the character deadpool should be a great martial artist and rarely get beat but now he fights like a normal guy and they use cgi to do any acrobatics or flips. Adkins as weapon xI actually tumbled into a jumping flip over Jackman's stunt double and liev Schreibers.not to mention his insane other high flying moves in that scene.
hey Joey, could you break down the knife fight scene in Quantum of Solace? To me that is one of the best Bond fights ever and there is a lot of Kali moves in it. Great job as always, keep it up :)
Thank you, Joe. Love this fighting here via the movie The Bourne Supremcy. Great stuff here. Looks like Tom , lost some weight. Looks good. Don't worry Joe , you do too. We will meet. Don't know when but we will. Talk to you soon.
One thing I believe is that when passing the hand, never do it under, because they will have a straight shot to your gut, or if they have a weapon, will have a straight thrust.
I have three things to say about this video: 1/ FUCK YES that's possibly the most intricate and longest breakdown you made, and it's amazing, as always. 2/ Now I have a reason to always carry a towel with me #ImprovisedKote 3/Jeff Imada is a beast when it comes to choreography. Can you imagine, if only the filmmakers didn't rely on shaky cam that much, how much better that scene would have been? (Yeah I know, still hating on that, but hey :D )
+Neldolas Good, I'm glad you enjoyed this one. It took a while to edit and break down the moves from the crazy editing and shaky cam from the film. And yea, Imada definitely has some great choreography over the years
Let me put it this way, his right hand is on his opponents' right side and vise versa for his left hand, that way a little bit of of power will cause a choke, the way u made it is ur right hand on the opponents' left cheek and vise versa, leading to needing much more power to choke and won't be effective.. It's just like in judo and bjj choke, where u grab the the far side lapel..
I really like your videos, but could you please talk about something else than Bourne for a while? There would be plenty of possibilities: Mad max Uncharted (counters) Splinter Cell Witcher hunting monsters trailer; witcher 2 unarmed fighting Dishonoured 2 (critical evaluation on non-lethal takedowns) Kingsmen church scene AC Kenway style or Victorian bare knuckle (yes, you got a lot on AC, but these two are different)
Which reminds me, Desh totally should've saw that towel coming. You literally see Bourne announcing the setup the moment he grabs it starts twisting it up RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. At least be sneakier about it *CinemaSins "Sin Counter" ding*
Thank you sir! I wish I was part of your team. I used to do the same with my friends growing up. Of course now ,thank God, fight scenes are more complex and realistic. Love the channel bro and continue
Khullaa Saand Flexible weapons are very common in South Pacific martial arts as well (FMA, various Silat styles...). There are only so many ways to skin a cat.

Thanks! Tom is a beast :)
this is the best analysis I've seen of the scene so far!

people say this fight is bad due to the shaky cam, but its actually very good.
