Wow this is such a great video! Figuarts all the way in my opinion. Hasbro just dropped the ball with Tobey but with figuarts you’ll never need another Tobey figure for a while!
I agree SHFiguarts always surprise me with quality control, body proportions, articulation, and accessories. I prefer to pay the amount that the SHF is.
I think the main thing to note is that Marvel Legends' sculpt is pretty accurate to the CGI model of Tobey's suit from NWH, especially with the funky looking mask. SH Figuarts on the other hand uses the actual suit worn by Tobey on set, which was itself just the Spider-Man 3 suit with a few repairs IIRC. Andrew himself has confirmed the suit he wore while on set for No Way Home was the same suit he wore for TASM2 (which makes sense, if it aint broke don't fix it and all that) so I would assume the same is true for Tobey.
For Tobey, he actually wore a completely new suit, specifically made for No Way Home. Everything was new. The web pattern was no longer made from a separate material that was glued onto the suit. There was new mask design. And the colors & web pattern got updated too. It's not a replica from Spider-Man 3.

The SH Figuarts Nwh Tobey Spider-Man are based on his appearance in Nwh too but they remove the extra web line between the lenses, make the mask looks close to the original Sam Raimi trilogy mask
If I'm totally honest... I don't looooove either! Not sure what it is about them. I'd take the more subdued texture of the brighter one and the palette of the darker for sure.
On the marvel legends Tobey Spider-Man the sculpted neck line doesn't mean they will come with alternate heads later in the future...the gamer verse miles morales has the same sculpted neck and it did come with an alternate. They probably just have problems getting the likeness rights with the 3 pack
it's just the way they make these figures. all these ML that has a separate neck piece are the ones using their dumbbell joint. In order for them to have the neck soft enough to insert the ball peg, they need to make it a separate piece to the torso which is a hard plastic. This is where Hasbro fails because JADA was able to copy higher end products for the neck and make those articulation works.
In Life you just about...just about get what you pay For! The more expensive figure just about ALWAYS WINS! Hard to beat the quality of SH, however a more affordable ACCEPTABLE option is Legends. A decent option..not the BEST, but decent..The End..New subber, nice video! thx

Agreed. They did a pretty good job with Andrew Garfield, no idea why they dropped the ball like that on Tobey. It's not horrendous but it'd bug a lot of people.

I might repaint it to make the colours richer and more accurate to the movie suit and paint the weblines a metallic grey like the older toybiz figures. I’m not experienced in customising figures so I’ll most likely practice on old action figures first and then try it
That triangle at the end of the web is there to loop over something to "SWING" from the swirly end is for him to hold but doesn't do any good if he has no holding hands

No question SH is far superior,the marvel legends versions would be nice enough if they had good articulation not to mention it comes in a 3pk with a shitty tom holland repaint big L on that set
I'm not the biggest fan of the three-pack either. I put an unmasked head from the Peter and Ned two-pack on the Integrated Suit Holland and that vastly improved it for me. And the Andrew from the three-pack is pretty good IMO.
I like the legends more better looking thigh cut and no thong look plus Hasbro did better elbows sh.f has a break up between the red and blue plus I've seen people have issues with sh.f which shouldn't be a thing with the price also the color is accurate on marvel legends red but the blue is to light
Personally, I prefer ML over SHF I have both but my SHF arm joint look easily to broken so I don’t played it anymore While ML I don’t have to worried about that kind of problem because of durability and materials also the color and webline not that bad(but the webline color should be Gunmetal Silver) I will look forward to Mafex version of Tobey I believe It will be the best Tobey Spidey Figure! if you are worry about breaking the SHF then SHF is not for you. ML is marketed for AGE 4+. SHF is marketed AGE 15+. one is done as a toy you can collect and one is done as a collector's toy.
ML is marketed as toys you can collect for AGES 4+. SHF is collector's toy for AGES 15+ for adults. It's like comparing when Hasbro tried the 1/6 scale ML for $60 to the Hot Toys for $300-400. It's not comparable.

They need to make a new web swinging accessory. Even if they had hands to hold the little handle part, it'd still look goofy.
For me, it's the SH one, but the Marvel Legends one is cheaper and it's an option for those who don't have that much money

I've always been an in box collector but recently started to unbox my figures. Really want to get some figuarts in to the collection. Great video!
The good thing about Figuarts packaging (and really most imports) is that it's super collector friendly so you can box it back up really easily.
