  • As lockdown measures are lifted, many parts of the world are feeling a sense of relief. But experts warn of a second, possibly worse wave of the coronavirus.
There is a precedent for multiple peaks in a pandemic. The second wave of the 1918 Spanish flu was more deadly than the first. With coronavirus, could the worst be yet to come?

How likely is it that we could develop lasting immunity to sars-cov-2 since we don't have any lasting immunity to most corona viruses in circulation.
Fauchi is saying we develop lasting immunity to almost all of the viruses (says 99%), but if we look at coronaviruses that's not really the case.

To be honest I don’t see this blowing over till next year in the summer or the end of the summer of next year, and a new normal will take place in early 2022 or mid summer 2022. I can see social distancing being the new normal and wearing face masks being the new normal, and I also feel like people will be spending at least 75-80% of their time indoors. Just my opinion

I find it hard to believe that anyone would say something like "I can't believe someone thinks about money when people are dying". Guess what, without a job, you don't have food, housing, etc. When those things are gone, how do you live? Every year thousands die from flu, but we don't shut down. Does that mean that during flu season we choose money over lives? Of course not. It simply means that we continue to live our lives the best we can without fear and panic.

@Kwok Wai Lai and the CCP should have done a better job of disclosing the virus last year in 2019 (Covid19). Provincial party leaders were afraid of giving bad news to Peking (because bad news messengers get bad news responses) so they covered up infections and deaths.
Heroic doctors that circumvented their party hierarchy to tell the world were sent into "quarantine" and later died without a word. Simultaneously China was loading medical supplies already in warehouses and docks in Canada and Australia for a quick return trip to China. They were also quietly buying out the 3M production of true n95 masks mufactured in western US and Canada for cash on the barrelhead.
So there's plenty of blame, but that is the past.

There is nobody at the helm in the US. Coupled with the fact that the US civilian population cant tell what is reality. The large segment of people who are clueless is stunning. Clueless, and angry. Too spoiled to even find happiness at home. The virus may be dangerous, but our people are so much more in trouble in other ways beside the pandemic.

If you really look into it, the flu vaccine really doesn't do much to curb the flu, so why do people really think that a vaccine will make things ok? Have you ever asked your doctor if the vaccine given to you for the flu will be effective in keeping you from getting it? you will be very surprised to hear the answer, but why ask? Why is the media so fascinated with doom and gloom? If very little is known about the virus as is mentioned, how do you know if the virus will return to kill even more than the first wave? I'm an electrician we were installing lights. I haven't had any symptoms. Though this could just be because I'm asymptomatic. Anywho I have doubled up on washing my hands and even wash my face as often. Especially after being in public also minding not to touch my face when in public. The mask don't hurt, but I think hygiene should be more emphasized.

I have to say I disagree. Of course we have to follow the rules and regulations, but, I do not recommend to stay home, barring imperative. There is no reliable timeframe for this pandemic, so do not wear yourself out on the first miles of this marathon. Do what nurtures you, entertains you, gives you joy, you are allowed to, we don't all have to be miserable - and keep in my mind, some people will actually never see the old normal again (IF that actually can be reconstructed, regardless of medical circumstances), and there are youths and children also. Be safe, take care of others, but do not stop to enjoy life. Imo.

@@simonroy2123 for what has found out since the covid from China till Spain then to UK, the virus mutated and added more symptoms that in China where not found. Like for instance the reaction of the virus and affecting others part of the body like feet, this wasn't warned. Also a covid but for the kids that before didn't had any problems or obvious symptoms, in UK kids started to have new symptoms. So I don't think, after this virus passes the second wave could be a mix of the virus in different countries if we open borders.

And where did you get the idea that lockdown’s purpose is to eliminate the virus? It’s to slow the spread to not overwhelm the healthcare systems and to buy time for vaccination development. Though lockdown can be prevented if they have prepared early testing kits and contact tracing so only the infected is quarantined. They did it a bit late.
