Yo broski! I'm a pro woodworker and amateur plumber. I've always done my own plumbing since I've been too poor to hire a pro. Over the years I've installed 4 water heaters, replaced all the galvanized pipe in my basement in one day, several remodels, and lost track of how many times I've had to pull a toilet to get a toy that's been lodged in the bend. Sometimes I've wanted to jump off a roof mid-project, but turning the water on with no leaks at the end is so damn satisfying. Your videos are great. I love watching a master do his trade. NYC plumbers have to be the best of the best since you guys are working on all kinds of jacked up stuff going back well over a hundred years sometimes. I know it's hard work but you make it look easy. Props to all the hard working tradesmen who keep the world turning. Peace broski!
Wow! I worked for a water utility 22+ years. They would often host "tapping contests" where teams would add a valve to a large pipe under pressure in the shortest time possible. Some clever engineers manages to adapt this technology for the plumber. Outstanding.
thanks for your comment the EasyFit is a patented product with dual seal technology it was designed in the UK and has been sold for just over 10 years.
The Easyfit seals on the ends of the pipe as well as the sides unlike a saddle valves and is classified as a ball valve and has a 12 month guarantee in the US@@aquaphobicFish
@@aquaphobicFishYes true but saddle valves are extremely flawed in design and have a very high rate of failures. Most plumbers won't install them because of this fact.
As a retired Plumber from Melbourne Australia I love watching your videos. Having only been to NYC once and experienced the traffic, it must be a real pain in the a..se when you get to a job only to find you’re short of a fitting, valve etc. That’s the only problem with plumbing, you can usually improvise to get the job done but being short one lousy fitting can ruin your day. As we say here “good onya mate” 😁👍
If the EasyFit ever stops working you can replace the valve core without shutting off the water by using the EasyFit recore tool. That alone makes it worth the money.
I am a retired plumber. That valve is a life saver.I own several rental properties with older mains with a few old gate valve that I dread having to open and close if needed.I am gonna install a few of those.👍👍
Just now looked this item up on eBay & most are shipped from the U.K. for around $100… Still not bad at all in considering the price most plumbers would have to charge in hard circumstances LOVE YOUR ENTHUSIAST CONTENT BRO👊🏼👍🏼
This was amazing to see! I've been asked to fix plumbing things before change taps, fix a leak, etc, but never touched the jobs for fear of making it worse (I'm a welder, not plumber). I never even knew it was possible to do plumbing on pipes that are still fully pressurized. Very educational in more things then just plumbing (I never knew why things lined up easier when going diagonally for screws). I also like the way you gave the information, it was professional and well thought out~
Dude amazing video. best one of this valve ive seen. Your NYC cadence makes your videos masterful. If radio was still big id say you could make it big on the radio lol. You got a gift plumbing and that voice.
"Hey ya, so I need content and I want to show off my easy fit isolator valve, can I install it temporarily at your facility?" This is how I imagine those awkward phone calls went 😅
I'm always amazed by the difficulty of simply turning off the water in NYC and the fact that inventions like this get people so excited. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool product and great review!
This is why I love engineering. When I bought my starter home which was built 100 years ago I was concerned about the old shutoff valve which looked corroded and flimsy. I imagined a product such as this which I could put in front of the existing shutoff and not have to mess around with the old shutoff. Engineers see a problem and find a solution. Seeing how often the problem is getting supers to agree to a shutoff, this product alone will make plumbers job so much easier.
Omg!!!!!! I needed this so bad years ago!! All 4 of the water shut off lines from the main though the water meeter all failed and could not turn off the water. This would have saved me sooooo much trouble that day!
Really just a bolt on line stopper fitting for copper, like a Mueller or TDW used in the gas distribution business every day. A good adaption for a very old product. Pricy but worth it for leaks, like the pro-press.
That's pretty good. When my mains tap started leaking I thought it'd be a big thing to replace it, but the guy who came out just unscrewed it and screwed the new one on. Because he had the tap set to the open position, it went on without any resistance. Makes a bit of mess but it works
This solution can actually save you valuable time and allow you to make more money. Instead of waiting for a water shutdown, you can install this in 5 minutes and get on with the job! Impressive.
Good innovation from UK. Definitely handy to have to for when things have gone south im a hurry. They also make auto bleeding radiator valves that can be handy.
Thanks for the video! Now I knkw these exist and don't have to call the water company now! Appreciate it, bud! Keep up the awesome work, my dude! Love your videos

Oh and we have to legally warranty this item for 2 years cause it’s a permanent and it malfunctions? You now just lost all profits. But if you’re a small company or a solo plumber and don’t have any employees you make around $521. “It’s a 5 minute install”, let’s get real here, you take your time to investigate issue needing this device and driving there and diagnosing exactly where to install this probably took you minimum 2 hours, then you need to order this item and return which is another 1-2 hours. 3-4 hours of you or your employees time invested. I’m now thinking this should be closer to $2000.00.
I needed one of these recently. The customer was stealing water. He had two meters at the sidewalk. One for his shop and the other for his restaurant. He poured cement into the meter box and smoothed it level with the sidewalk. He then convinced the city that the shop meter was the only one for the whole property. when i had to rebuild a bibb faucet I couldn't stop the flow.

This product is not new. It’s came from Europe, like propress and pex .
City’s also use it to tap mains.
Yep, products like these been in use in Europe for like 50 years
I've even used these one 2,5 inch steel pipes
I fitted one 15 years ago in the uk. And it still works well with no leaking.
7 years or more with no issues on hot and cold pipes in the kitchen. Very useful.

Wow broski that is great. Some guys use to crimp the water pipe old school stuff.

Mechanically it’s the same as a prepress, o-ring gasket, but this is definitely stronger
that thing is awesome, thanks!
Thank you!

Mr. Broski’s life just got easier✌️
Used these on a hvac system 22ish years ago. We had larger ones 1-1 1/4" pipe and if I remember right they were all brass and cost around $400 each.
you damn right, bro; it's a great solution!
I’m trying to be like you broskie

No shutdown needed? In that case that valve is definitely worth the money. Can't wait for the brass version to come out :)
At $500 for the part I’d have to charge $1500 total.
@jameskim2007 how do you justify charging $1500 to change a $500 part?

That’s cool. That’s like an insertion valve on a main.
I’ve used something similar to this on refrigeration systems that aren’t tapped with service ports
What if this valve leaks after you are done? How would you handle that?
Hard to believe there would be no debris inside the line but this valve is hard to believe in itself to begin with. Must be expensive but invaluable when needed.
In the refinery we would use a large version of these on 12 in pressurized gasoline lines.
Shouldn't you be hand tightening the screws before you drive it with the battery powered?
When you say completed your quest successfully. I always imagine the skyrim level up sounds when I complete a task at work. I'm a nerd.
