I had to ask.....if you do your 2 years diploma in Canada will you be eligible....and even if you get your PR like being their in Canada for 2 years . You have stayed in that country only for 2 years soo will you be eligible???

Sorry for late reply. I will try to get correct info for you as You have a unique case and till then you can contact provincial police department directly
You’ll have to go to academy for training either way. Your back home experience would be an asset but you’ll still have to do everything like any other candidate just because the experience you have is not from Canada. There is no specific time on how long you have to be Canada before you can apply to be a police office, only things that you need to keep in mind are that you have to be a citizen or permanent resident and the longer you’ve been in the country the better because they can investigate your background better in that way.
One of the strict requirement is to be ATLEAST a Permanent resident of Canada for 1095 days (3 years). EVERYONE starts from zero. Your training outside Canada as a police officer for another country wont count however, it would be an asset. You CANNOT apply directly to a law enforcement job in Canada if youre a foreigner. In summary: Come here first.

you have to live in Canada for at least 5 consecutive years
