This ball had terrible visibility and recognizability.. When quick and rotated it functioned like a Newton disk - disappered. Moreover no contrast from surroundings... New pattern is only little bit better - far from optimal...
Back in the mid 70s, I was considered to be a very good volleyball player. These guys are on a totally different planet than me. I don't even recognize the game today. Amazing.
He's smaller compared to other spikers, but he jumped so high above the blockers' hands! And the top of that, he's a strong leftie which added the bonus to that unbelievable force! He's still very young and has a lot of rooms to improve. I set my eyes on him since last year VNL. I can't wait for his next performance! :)

Well compare to the other player he's quite small in stature. 180cm something is pretty small in professional volleyball world hun, the liberos are smaller but we all know that their fight is below the net so height is not important, while Nishida's position are played by people taller than he is. Especially if they're facing western team, he's considered to be little.

Nishida is having flashbacks about how his sensei trained him so hard, every word of his master's inspiring message, and he stays in midair screaming for 5 episodes before he hits the ball.
What a grit for a young player like him and to have the honor in representing their country together with Ishikawa at such a young age. Experience will reward them soon.
