    My thoughts on the Google Pixel 8a vs the outgoing Pixel 7a. On the outside, these are quite different devices, but internally, there isn't a whole lot of reason to upgrade. In fact, you might consider getting a 7a over an 8a if you have neither. However, if you want that Google futureproofing, the 8a is the way to go.

      I like the design of the Pixel 8, but they went too far with the round borders on the 8a. The 7a looks great.

    Good comparison but you got to go pixel 8A all the way just for the 7 years of software support. I would only get the Pixel 7A used on a great deal.

    Hi Steve. A very good video with valid points.
    I got my 6a on sale last September. It is my first Google phone and I love it. I like the a series because of the smaller size, the price, and the great photo quality. I love Google because of the Call Screening feature, and the clean Google experience. The latest software updates have been disappointing (too many glitches) though. But overall - the pros outweigh the cons.
    I don't like the rounded edges on the 8a 😓. But 7 year warranty is amazing (for Android). The 6a will still receive software updates until July 2025 so I will sit and wait to see what else is going to be released.
    I'm praying that Google will release a flip!!!! I better start saving 🤣. I've wanted a flip since Samsung first launched theirs in 2020. But I don't like Samsung's One UI.
    Edit:
    I just realised I wrote this comment on the wrong video (was supposed to leave the comment on the 6a video!) 😂😂😂
    I have a migraine - forgive me.
    I watched both videos and 'liked' both.

    I believe there is a strategy re price, and that is to check trade in prices and chose your new phone accordingly. My wife's pixel 5 worth approx 60 UKP on eBay now the software support is ending, yet Google offered £235 UKP against 8a, and that's what we got when they confirmed it. That's £100 more than the 7a .
    So 8a was only £315 cost to change when factoring in what I could have got off eBay for the 5a. Was also a better deal than the 8. So the deals are heavily rated to trade ins which always throw up an easy decision

    The problem is a new 7a cost more than a new 7. I see no deals on them. The 8A has great trade in deals making it much cheaper

    A better modem would make me buy the pixel 9pro. I can't deal with poor cell tower connectivity and call dropping. I live in a metal house.

    2-3 years later "you should upgrade"

      @StevealiciousTech  Месяц назад +2

      Don't know what one has to do with the other. Not everyone wants to upgrade. Are you saying they should offer less support? Make your device worth less in two or three years even if you go to trade in or sell? I don't understand the argument.

      @@StevealiciousTech most reviews always say to upgrade your 2 or 3 year old phone. Besides, no daily driver battery last 7 years. Might be 40% capacity left or less by then.

    To me there’s no need to compare the two because the 8a is way better than the 7a. One of Google’s biggest pricing problems is once they release the new series, they fail to reduce the price of the previous generation. Makes zero sense to keep the price of last years phones exactly the same as the new ones. It’s crazy because the 7a if it was $299 it may be a great enough deal to pick one up. But with it being almost identical in price to the 8a you literally have no incentive to even consider the 7a.
