The reason why it is charging so slow is because maybe you have the Adaptive Charging on which is a feature so that the phone charges in usual routines where you dont need it for example charging it overnight to extend the battery life. So it basically waits all night till 1 hour before your alarm rings, or like 1 hour before you usually use your phone. Its a pretty smart feature.

I switched to Pixel (from Samsung) 18 months ago. I bought a 6a. Never going back.
I was wanting to "upgrade" to the 8a, but I'm not that fussed by the rounded corners. It's not so much that they're "round," but that, having tried one in store, on the day they came out, they looked "protruded," and "bulgy."
So, I'm hanging fire, atm. I might go for the 8, when the price drops, or the7a.
I'm going to give the 8a another try, but, every time I look at it now, the OCD kicks in! 😉😉

If you're around 80% on the phone and you have your alarm set it will do a trickle charge by default.
If you turn off your alarm it will revert back to fast charge it's a feature that preserves the battery life of the phone.

3:15 a little bit of a correction for “cheaply making a cheap phone” big companies intentionally make their cheaper phone look inferior than their flagships not because they don’t spend as much time and effort or getting good hardware and software is expensive… it’s simply just marketing, they want you to go to their expensive end so they get a higher profit margin… Google changed it, #teampixel

How long have you been using the pixel before making the video? The first couple of weeks or so of setting up your pixel for the first time can feel clunky. The software and AI are learning your usage habits and spend that initial period to fine tune everything. This applies to your auto dim and brightness feature.

Hey there. I have S23 Ultra and the pixel 8a that i got as work phone mainly due it's compact size and picture quality so I am able to compare the 2 units fairly.
The things i have noticed on the 8a:
#Lack of the option to set the flashlight on the long press of the power button (as my S23U)
#There is no NFC button on the dropdown bar from top. I know that i can pay with my phone only while the phone is unlocked but to be honest the phones are most of the time in our hands and they are unlocked because we do something while we sit in line at the supermarket or crowded places. On my S23U i even made a routine icon on the screen for fast toggle of the NFC.
#Lack of routines function that i use for starting spotify while i`m in my car or when i start my BT speaker that is mounted on my bike
#Lack of the option to stop the charging at 80%. I was in vacation for a weak with poor internet signal. I have placed my S23U in plastic bottle connected to a power bank with hotspot mode on and limited charging up to 80% an climbed a tree and secured it place. That was my internet connection for the week. I wouldn't like to torture the battery like that if it didn't have the 80% limited charging
#Lack of the option to kill all opened apps in one go. Sometimes I open my banking apps and when i want to close them i want them closed, not running in the background. On the pixel i must search for them to close them. While on the S23U, i'm lazy and hit the close all button. It is faster then looking for the particular app to close.
#Pixel got stuck for about 10 seconds at one time. Just froze for some reason while i was trying to open youtube. Other than that can't say i had an issue. But also please note that since this is my work phone I only have some of the apps that I have on my S23U. Not sure how it will behave with more apps fighting for the processor.
#Pixel was unbelievably slow while updating even if the update file size was small (about 35mb if remember correctly)
#Pixel brightness bar is setup wrong...on the minimum setting is to bright and my must take extra steps to activate the extra dim mode, while on the normal use scenario while on the S23U i keep it at ~35% for my comfortable viewing, on the Pixel i must set it to 50-60 % to get the same amount of brightness.
    On the positive side:
    # the pixel boots up faster but to he honest that is not something can be counted as practical benefit.
    # the pixel camera feels more snappy and somehow i like the pictures it takes better than my S23U. Yes on the S23U i have the zoom and stuff and i also have the camera assistant app and modified the picture speed. But it is not just that. The picture colors and stuff just feel better on the Pixel.

My last phone was a iphone13
It loved to run hot when charging....weird stuff would happen from time to time.

I've been looking at this because it's small enough to comfortably fit in my hands. The only other phone I've even considered switching to is a base model s23 or s24. The plus and ultras are just too big for my hands. I could care less about performance compared to ergonomics.

The problem with the charging could be the adaptive charging that is switched on automatically

No. but I figure it could be the reason

They charge slower at the end because of people getting them out before they're fully charged.
My brother always got his phone off the charger at 90% and I only got it off at 100%, my phone charges at the same speed constantly while his takes 5 times more time to charge the last 5%

Hello, please give me your opinion :
Should I buy google pixel 7a or 8a or even wait for google pixel 9a ? Please respond.
    Blessed efforts ❤

So-there are a couple of options, if its about the price, you can go for the pro! Not the 8 pro, cuz its pricey as hell, but the cheaper 6 pro! It has better photo hardware, but less updates, and worse google tensor, and it's support only lasts till 2026 so thats a con to consider.
About the pixel 8A, its another experience, often pricier, but, better cpu, gpu, and npu, but forget about tele photo lens, while enjoying seven flippin years of updates!
So the decision up to you, i have the same dilema but hope that it's helpful!

Turn of adaptive charging, mine actually checked when my alarm was in the morning and said it would charge at a rate I get 100% exactly when I wake up.
