KILLER amp for what it does. And, the new version isn't as thin, or nasally sounding. But, the Little Sister to me is very, very close to this, is much warmer, and a lot more versatile, and with the right OD pedal can potentially sound even better than this. But, it still sounds VERY good, and I'd love to own both some day, but will probably get the SLO 30 instead, when it comes time to scratch that itch. Great demo!
Another great review, Not sure why but I feel like what i'm hearing here is what I would hear when I get it home. Your review of the Little Sister proved that correct. Had to choose between the Little Sister and this one , Choose the LS. Thought about getting both but when the JEL 20 came out ( the Plexi channel! ) now that's the other amp I have to have.
Dan thanks for the great videos of the new Friedman PT20 V2 and Little sister , awesome playing and tones , and giving us a peek on how they'll sound , in a band setting and with pedals and boosted etc. I have been watching your videos since coming across your video of the Victory V30 cracking open a Beer and checking out some tones , always refreshing to see your videos and hear you play ! Would love to see and hear you try the Victory Sheriff 25 too ! Cheers Mate
I played the original prototype of the sheriff before it was released and really enjoyed it. I haven’t played any of the production models or revisions though. Must get round to it.
I don’t understand the Little Sister/JTM 45 marketing comparisons. Unlike the Twin Sister/Dirty Shirley the Little Sister doesn’t have a tube rectifier or 5881s. To that end it no longer has anything in common with the JTM45. The preamp section of the Little Sister/Twin Sister/DS is very similar to a JEL-modded 2203 except voiced to be fatter and darker. That portion of the amp never bore any resemblance to that of JTM45 to begin with.
@dan do you find that you can achieve most PT tones on a Little Sister by applying a pedal? It’s hard to imagine what pedal you apply to PT to make it sound like an LS.
At the jam from the start it was plenty loud in the room. Volume on 4 ish and could easily keep up with drums and bass using a 1x12 cab. Obviously depending on the size of the venue and the volume of the band results may vary.
Although it’s totally personal preference, I’d be interested to know what you were listening on? To my ears it doesn’t sound the least bit boxy or thin.
@@DanLeggatt I agree Dan, in person a lot of that goes away. Also, the first version did have a bit of a problem with that. This one sounds MUCH better, IMO.

Love these live session demos! Great sounding amp! Another superb video 🤩
A 2 channel 40 watt pink taco v2 would be killer!!
It’s called the BE50 :)
Friedman ww20
That opening jam had me bouncing around the office, got some strange looks from my work mates :p
What I absolutely love about the Dirty Shirley is the give that the tube rectifier gives, it’s so fun and satisfying to play
Great tone! I love that you’re playing with a band.
More coming hopefully!
I have and love the PT v1. You make it sound very good at times and I really enjoyed your playing.
Great demo, Dan. Looking forward to more live content.
Awesome playing and tone

Not sure if I want a little sister or this, but I want clean tones too so I think the former might be a better platform single channel.
I would agree that the LS has a better low gain / clean tone 👍
So cool Dan....

Perfect review..tyvm
Lovin the tone of this mate, anything similar to this on the Kemper?
There’s a fair few Friedman profiles out there. Have a look for BE100 ones to get in this ball park 👌
Good review!! In your opinion, wich cone works better with PTV2? V30? Or Creambacks??
Thank you!!
Great Tone! Would the 20 watts keep up without being mic'd?

@@DanLeggatt ...thank you!
When a Pink Taco Kemper pack? 😋
Did you used IR? Do you remeber what IR? Thanks so much! ❤
Want a ToneX capture review dude
I’d love to check it out if they want to send one over 👍
New Guitar? (the "Shovel")
Relatively, had it 3 months. Bought it specifically for the shows but using it on a lot of other gigs too. Very versatile.
👍
Profile this amp 🙏🤘
Good amp bad pickup good player
Didn't like the sound. It sounds so boxy and thin it's hard to believe it's even a Friedman amp.

I wouldn't call it boxy or thin but it does have a harshness to it.
