You can transfer OFA with your DNA. The hair thing was All might specific
Ya the hair was just 1 method that was just happened to be used. It's actually any part of someone's DNA.

BUT mind you..that may have been because he was in the middle of being the willful intended successor who was in the middle of accepting *FULL* "true" passing from an intended willful successor choosing to intentionally give away the *entire quirk* to a the "Next" user.
Bakugo was only given *temporary"* time-limited *(until the goal of defeating evil & protecting/saving civilians was reached)* special access it by the will of the previous users following the will of the current user's desire to share the power....even if the current user is unaware of these exact details...yet.
----Because the current user at the time of Bakugo's use *(Deku's)* desire/will was to *"Save & protect everyone on the island"* so the quirk *OFA* obeying & liking the this idea, decided it would lend itself out at the request of the it's current Owner/User *(Izuku Mydoria)*
So all they needed to do was fiure out a way to put his DNA inside Bakugo's body *(PAUSE xD)* ..which they figured out there on the spot would be *"Blood Transfer"*
.....though clearly Izuku..still being young as well as discovering more to his quirk then anyone else did...obviously doesnt realize this *yet*

@@yungmidoriya4382 thanks, this movie made me think a lot about it. I was also wondering why Bakugou's quirk didn't get transfered to OFA, but since this is a temporary thing, it might just don't work as usual quirk transference.

I do believe if bakugo didn’t lose consciousness that he would’ve passed it back, yea he’s grumpy but he’s probably the most honorable of all the UA students on the lowkey he wouldn’t want dekus power to become strong he would rather become stronger with his own power
Bruh one for all was never transferred to bakugo to start with. It's a miracle cuz instead of the quirk being passed on , the embers were passed to bakugo instead which gave him temporary one for all capabilities
Of Bakugo gave back One for All he would lose his explosion quirk too.
No it was transferred to Bakugo. Before Dekus consciousness faded he felt it vanish from him. One for All performed a miracle and went back to Deku
The key to pass one for all is giving the DNA, all might did it with his hair and deku did it passing his blood trought bakugo's cut finger.

Fun fact: Deku transferring All for One to Bakugo was originally the way the author was planning on ending my hero academia in the anime.
Also to clarify some things, the 'smash' every one will get it (its essentially just punching air at a really powerful rate) and if you had a quirk previously, it would get enhanced as well.
The villain 'Nine' is named that because he can only steal up to 9 quirks. The reason he couldnt steal One for All will be explained in season 5.
One for All can be transferred through DNA, so the way they did it (blood exchange) works, and was faster because you didn't have to digest the hair.

There is a popular theory that Deku's last words to Katsuma: "You can become a hero! I'll be waiting for you at U.A.!" Was a hint that Deku intends to pass One For All onto him.

Blue flames are actually hotter than normal orange flames. Dabi fire is higher heat than Endeavor has. Although that doesn't mean one has more "firepower" than the other. Dabi is just higher heat from what we know. You will learn more in the future about this.
Yup when Endavour kills one Nomu in the Kamino arc we can see him going hotter until the flames turn blue but it was very exhausting for him.

@@amir_thomas1200 yeah dabi got the strong side of endeavor’s fire but endeavor decided to not train dabi because he was afraid that dabi’s quirk is going to hurt dabi and it did.
That’s why he told dabi to try not to become a hero because endeavor didn’t want to lose his son, but dabi being so invested in making his father proud didn’t care therefore hurting himself.
This is the movie that was so Mind Blowing near the end I even forgot to cry. I was just Dumb-foundedly looking at the screen. Was waiting for the reaction Lets goo
Iida’s “Recipro Turbo” and Tokoyami’s ability to fly are actually developments they make in season 5.
Bakugou didn't get OFA just because he passed out since that shouldn't affect the DNA transfer. He didn't get it because he didn't *want* it. We know how OFA was forced onto the first successor right? But after that the quirk developed to only be taken by a person who wanted it and the person giving it also can't be forced. Makes sense since there's already at least one person inside of OFA that doesn't want it to go to a bad person.
So when Izuku "gave" Bakugo OFA he was fully committed to risking everything to save the island. He was willing to give it away. But Kacchan wasn't willing to take it. He didn't *want* to take Deku's quirk away. But they both had the goal of saving everyone so all the successors agreed with Izuku's wish and granted Bakugo OFA for as long as it took to defeat the villain. And I'm sure he doesn't remember it because the exchange wasn't willingly too.
The way they phrased it was kinda silly. They should have just gave a definitive answer instead of immediately dismissing the passing out before the transfer was complete. It just leaves things without closure and everyone having a different idea.
@@CupOfWhiskey no no watch it again. In the beginning all might says bakugo MAY have passed out before transfer, but later he rectifies that it's not it. By miracle, according to me, it meant that instead of the whole quirk being transferred to Kachhan, only the embers of it were tranfered thanks to the predecessors, which granted him a temporary effect of OFA.

None of this is correct.
Yoichi Shigaraki (the first user) always had a quirk called One For All, a quirk that allowed him to transfer his quirk at his own will. All For One Forced him to take a stockpiling quirk. OFA then combined with the stockpiler to make it a quirk that transfers and combines power and abilities.
For the quirk to be transfered, the receiver needs the user's DNA. That's how the quirk transferred to Bakugo.
It's discovered that the previous users are alive inside the quirk so they probably gave embers of the power to Bakugo (temporarily) but allowed Deku to keep the quirk. Because OFA is a quirk meant to save those in need by all means
Just rewatched the movie for the 6th or so time. Goosebumps every time. So many feels. And the music...
Actually "The dad's" quirk was cell activation to heal the new all for one but the cell activation only worked on a different blood type
18:53 something you guys didn't seem to notice^^ Deku used way more than 20% in that moment (because he saw Kacchan get hurt) and Nine knew his shield wouldn't hold that (his eyes widen) so he immediately summoned a lightning to save himself.
Also changing the weather was his own quirk, the father had cell activation too but it didn't work on his blood-type so he needed the kid
Imagin what a hero he could be with the Cell Power. He could beat up cancer and every sickness.
In the manga, the first user said to All for one that they all choose to be with Deku because of his heroic and self-sacrificing nature.

This film is so legendary! The animation was amazing and I loved how well the teamwork was in these fights and how every character shined especially side characters like Sero and Uraraka those two went crazy in the fight. Both your reaction to it was jokes to watch too and I still love how excited you get whenever recovery girl is on screen and the emotions are strong in this movie XD

All might is saying that all the predecessors of OFA chose Deku over Bakugo because of his immense will to save others rather than win in that situation
Thats not the real reason. Bakugo passed out before he fully absorbed OFA thats as simple as it is at this moment. However the fact he was able to use it means they did find him worthy to use. Simple. At this time Bakugo already understood what it takes to be a hero.
@@squallthegriever wasn't it that Bakugo didn't want to have OFA? You can't steal it and only get it when both parties willingly take it (at least after the first inheritant got it). Bakugo wasn't comfortable with the idea of taking OFA instead of Izuku and all the successors knew that. So it was only temporary because Izuku is the one meant to have it.

If he transferred the Quirk back, Bakugo would lose his Quirk. Because OFA is the power to transfer quirks.
So if it fully merged with Bakugo, his Quirk would become a part of it, which would mean if he gave it back to Deku. Bakugo would become quirkless.

So glad you guys finally watched this movie! It was by far the best MHA film to date. The transfer “plot hole” gets explained farther down the road in the manga/anime. But you are correct to assume that it has something to do with the previous wielders of One for All. Remember back to when 9 tried to steal it, and the previous 8 wielders blocked him from stealing it.

Pretty sure OFA is a combination of quirks so bakugo can use both smash and his quirk.
I feel like the first movie was mainly focused on Deku, and in this one it was mainly focused on Deku and Bakugo, so maybe the third one will mainly be focused on Deku, Bakugo and Todoroki to introduce the new big three

Don't forget that Allmight said that Deku need 4 hour after eat the hair before finally using it in S1. Also, you'll see more about OFA world in S5 and S6. Oh, you should check the trailer of S5, there's 2 trailer already out
It didn’t transfer because the past predecessors allowed him to temporarily transfer One For All to Bakugo. All Might mentioned in season 2 that Deku’s OFA is different to his, like Deku having glimpses of the past predecessors while All Might couldn’t. OFA evolved to the point where it’s at its most powerful in Deku where the predecessors can help Deku in certain situations I.e. temporarily transfer a portion of OFA to Bakugo. Also if you’re wondering the movie is canon to the series, it is.

I know the movie gave it a reason for happening (the miracle), but I still have my own theory about why Bakugo didn't keep One For All in the end of the movie. All Might says it can be passed on willingly but not taken against your will, but maybe Bakugo didn't 100% WANT One For All, so it couldn't fully take root because he wasn't willing to have it given the situation. It would mean admitting defeat and although he and Deku aren't quite friends he does still know how hard he's worked to get so far with it and I think there'd HAVE to be some level of respect for how hard it would hit him considering Bakugo even points out "This is the end for you" more or less, and sounds a bit reluctant when he says it. I just really don't like the notion of the "Haha it's a miracle" explanation.
I thought so too, but they're basically rivals now or should I say friends hehe bakugou also said that he wants to keep him(deku) at arm's length so that he could protect him.
It's not like that, All migth said in the season two that the Quirk cannot be stolen by force but it can be given by force. So, whether Bakugo wanted to keep it or not has nothing to do with it. But you were on the right track with your theory.
The real reason is most likely that the OFA must be delivered by the wearer's own will but in the manga they explain that within the OFA lives the will of all the previous predecessors, so even when Deku passed it by his own will the will of the rest of the predecessors preferred to stay with Deku which canceled the transfer. This perfectly explains what happened but there is no way in the story that All Migth explains it because at this point he didn't even know that this was possible, so he attributes it to a "miracle" but he definitely knows that the predecessors had something to do with it. Think of it this way, for the quirk to be transferred both the current bearer and all previous bearers must agree. If Deku is willing to pass it on to Bakugo or someone else but the rest refuse then the transfer is not completed. Of course, this is something that neither Deku nor All Migth are aware of because they have no way of knowing and therefore neither can understand or explain why that happened.
When the movie had just come out it was very confusing but recently the manga explained about the will of the predecessors and everything made sense immiediatly. By the way this is all just my interpretation based on manga information but I think it makes perfect sense.
I dont want to spoil it for you but in the manga the reasoning for why deku didnt lose one for all is explained already

To transfer One For All just means that the willing person transfer some of their DNA into the body of the Recipient, All Might used Hair because it's a way of doing it over time, but Blood contains DNA.
There was a cut on bakugo's finger tip and deku had blood on his finger tip too. So the dna transfered over.

It is important to remember that the movie cannot change the status quo of the series in any way, literally everything must be something that "as if nothing had happened" kind of situation. As much as "canon" is, the author specifically said that the movie will never have weight in the plot.
A lot of people don't understand why the transfere didn't happen. It was because deku was willing to give it up his dream and quirk to save the people. This sacrifice was the thing that made the one for all miracle happen. Cuz Deku didn't give kachhan his dna. And as we know the transfering process takes time. So as some other also believe, someone of the predecessors litterly took control over bakugo and bakugo became uncouncius.

One for All isn't like "Here you go, I don't need it." It's more of "I want you to take it, so take it. And you can't give it back to me." It's passing generations lol.
All details about One For All(and probably All For One too and other quirks) and "The Miracle" things will be explained like in the Season 6 of the anime.
It is because he was worthy not because bakugo passed out too early. All might said one for all rewarded him for using it correctly. For being a true hero to save others above all else he was able to keep that amazing power.
You cannot steal One for All, it can be transferred to another person only if the current user wishes it. This was explained in Season 2 Episode 20. And the trick to transferring it is to get the quirk user’s DNA into the other person, it doesn’t necessarily have to be by eating the user’s hair.

You guys missed a lot of info on OFA. Its a STOCKPILING quirk. One of the quirks stockpiled was strenght enhancement. That's where the smash comes in. Each prior user's quirk has been added to OFA, AM and Deku were quirkless so they didn't /add/ anything.
the mixing of their blood when they touched hands transferred Deku's DNA to Bakugou, transferring the quirk. ;3
I hope All Might was wrong about why kacchan doesn't have the One for all. I want to belive it is because Bakugou talk with the ancestors and refuse the power. And he want they erase his memory for some reason.

You can't transfer OFA back and forth.. it's only passed down the generations not back up. The torch is always passed in this manner... I loved the reaction btww!!!!!
Wait uh blue flames are just more hot than orange flames. But Dabi didn't get practice and clearly can't take his quirk drawbacks. So he isn't as strong as Endavour but naturally either has hotter flames or can't control the heat. We know that Endavour can create blue flames from the Kamino arc but it's very exhausting for him

You can transfer One for All to anyone, but you can be given it back. It's like how Midoriya can't give All Might back One for All. The predecessors kept it in Deku since the original owner plans on unlocking One for All's true potential in Deku to finally bring an end to All for One. Also, this was the original idea for the ending to MHA, with 9 being All for One instead, or course.
There is a part in the first season that OFA is given by full heart but deku is like not fully wanted to give it and want to hold OFA
This is a great movie, im not sure if you guys noticed this, but it kinda looks almost like they are setting Katsuma up to be Dekus successor. From the white background when Katsuma ran towards nine, Katsuma not giving up when healing Deku and Bakugo, willing to give up his quirk to save the entire island, and with Deku telling Katsuma what All Might told him "You can become a hero".
Also when one for all remained in Deku, the reason why was in the Manga recently, i wont spoil anything.
i see it as more setting him up to work with deku in the future, possibly as a sidekick. tho if he can use his activation on himself he'd be so OP to carry OFA
