Did you see Al and Vixen at the back chuckling and talking about her while she was trying to figure out how she was going to finish off her shawl?😄 The Whitmore jumper turned out lovely, Tina.
Giggles, giggles and more giggles. You always make my day. Good decision on the shawl. We have to do what makes us happy and it really is already humongous. Definitely too big to wear in the front but yes, perfect for wearing over the shoulders. It will actually be a work of art showing on the back of your sofa. So worth having knit and like you said, now you know. The YMCA sleeves are so good to see. 😃 You're so good about that kind of thing. You say you want to do something and you do it right away. I am a world class procrastinator and things sit and sit without getting finished. I'll try to take a page from your book and do better. xoxoxo
Hello Tina, the Stephen West shawl is beautiful, you have done an amazing job on it. I enjoy watching what you make, as it takes me about six weeks to make a baby cardigan. Have a great evening 💞💞💞
Some mitts would be lovely from the leftovers to wear when you wear your shawl, I totally feel the same as you at the moment, im really wanting to make sweaters and cardigans rather than shawls. Your shawl looks amazing, don’t be deflated, it will be lovely even wrapped in it in the garden when it’s chilly in the evenings
🤗 Hi Tina! The shawl looks nice and warm for sitting around the house on cold days. I now you are happy with the cuffs on the one sweater and he new sweater is so pretty! I love the colors on the sleeveless sweater, it’s going to be great with T-shirt and jeans. Take care. ❤
Hi Tina. I love yr whitmore sweater. It's so lovely. The shawl looks fantastic and if yr done with it then that's ok. You should craft how u feel. Love yr channel. Xx
Your Aurora shawl turned out beautifully, you must be so proud of it, with all the effort you put into it. It's like a work of art - you could hang it on the wall and just look at it!
Your Aurora shawl is beautiful just as you've made it. I think your ideas to either use it as a shoulder wrap when you're lounging about the house or as a bit of decor in your living room are perfect solutions to your dilemma.
The shawl is beautiful, you should be proud of it and will look lovely on a sofa. I’m making a granny square blanket with my scraps which is my comfort project when I don’t want to think!
The shawl is gorgeous, but agree , time to be done. And I wouldn’t wear it either..would either gift it, or like you planed , nice couch decor. I love your videos, so many variations of knit projects. Inspires me, to challenge myself, when I usually stick to simple patterns. All your handiwork is so lovely❤you could always do a colorful embroidery design in the center of your scrap blanket , to break up the center block of blue. 😊 food for thought 🥰
I look forward to sundays so I can share with you. I had a sweater I wanted to make and got the yarn for Xmas. Was worried I wouldn’t have enough, never thought of a vest. Brilliant. You always give me such good ideas.
Always love watching your vlogs and seeing your projects. I’m trying to get better at knitting sweaters and having sweaters that are supposed to be fitted actually be fitted. Already had to completely frog a project and start again😢.😅
Tina you've made up my mind for me. The Aurora Cabin is off the needles permanently. Its going to be too big and too thick. Off to find a replacement! 😊 xx

Your shawl looks great! It even goes with what you are wearing in the video😀 I’m not a shawl wearer either. I bet it looks lovely on your couch. Please can we see a shot of it on there? It is like a lovely pair of wings, where have they landed?
Yes Stephen West is a big shawl kinda guy alright but yours has turned out beautifully. It looked so great with your Whitmoor jumper or maybe wear it on one shoulder? Your podcasts make me smile the whole way through! ❤
I am glad you finished the shawl and are on to the next project. I finished the holiday Slipover but am not happy with it. I removed the rib at the neck and am going to try going down a needle size and making it again. I can't decide if it's too bulky and just makes me feel like I have no shape at all. I may cast on the one you mentioned this week from drops and see if that works better. I hope you had fun with your crafty people and found some lovely yarn. Looking forward to your next episode.
Glad to hear your shawl honesty! I have the pattern and will also be downsizing it, I have enough humongous shawls already, would like to decrease garter stitch rows probably. I need to get a couple more things going now too, finishing up a really cute colourwork short sleeved sweater by Mary Henderson, really, really pleased with how it is working out! Keep it up Tina!
I learned that Steven is an evil genius . Lol. I’m working on a pair of socks . I’m the same about shawls I love them but I have to make a conscious effort to wear them . I like your idea of a cowl for the rest of the yarns . It’s a beautiful clorway .
Vixen here have you forgotten about me I am behind you and the coat you keep promising to knit me I was going to get into my spring wardrobe then I remembered you have not made me one 😂😂😂😂😂that coral wool would suit my fur tone so well 😂😂😂😂 now you have finished your clothes do you think I could have some please 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤ Tina seriously love the shawl and the whitmoor is beautiful. You are so right that shawl is enormous can I ask was was the stitch count on the final rows .
I love your whitmoor sweater 😍. Drops Lima is one of my favourite yarns. I knitted two cardigans, a sweater for myself and one for my husband with it. Downside, it pills quite a lot from wearing. I sporadically wash them as it’s pure not superwash treated yarn and that’s “self cleaning”, plus I don’t wear it straight on my skin (I obviously wash them before storing them away for winter 😆). I hand wash them using Eucalan (I don’t trust my machine). Some colour gives off in the water (like your shawl). I don’t know how it compares with a similar more expensive yarn though, maybe those pills more too than a superwash or acrylic yarn 🤷♀️. Drops Nepal which is the same but an aran weight pills equally. Anyhow, enough of that. It was such a fun podcast again. I love how relaxed you are about just stopping when you don’t enjoy it anymore and it goes to show that the result is still great 👍. It really inspires me. You’re so funny! YMCA test 😂😂😂. Again, very enjoyable podcast 😁👍!
@@Simplyinstitches They only stretched after the first time blocking, which you already did. Not after and not from wearing. Just the pilling, which isn’t a big deal to me, I just de-pill it every now and then 😊
Tina I would look at that cardigan in the beige with the nips and if you want it for casual wear with jeans I would use the blue for the band and pockets. Love the style of it
The shawl is beautiful ❤ But I don't blame you for stopping, imagine how enormous it would of been. I am on my second sock!!! And I am not enjoying it despite actually getting one done!!(never done before!!) I will continue..But I'm never knitting socks again 🥴
Oh no , that's a shame . Maybe if you tried another method . You have 3 to choose from magic loop, DPNs , 9" circulars. I will only knit mine on 9" but some people don't get on with them and love magic loop 😊
I love the idea of the crochet scrap blanket. I do have a lot of scraps. Do you stay with the same weight yarn when you do a scrappy project? I also love the Aurora cabin shawl, the dahlia sweater and the whitmoor! I've also had the problem knitting or crocheting a project that I end up not wanting to wear. I do try to find someone that I can give these things to. I hate frogging a whole sweater!
I stick to one weight of yarn for a scrappy blanket but if you have a lot of 4ply and DK you could always have a DK project and hold the 4ply double to use both weights 😁
Fab video as always 😊 I think the shawl would be perfect when you are having an early morning cup of tea in the garden 🤷♀️ It’s a shame you aren’t carrying on with the Trinny (mainly because I want to know if it’s easy- I love that cardigan!) I thought the dark blue and the variegated yarn looked great, and they matched perfectly with your dahlia sweater, when you look at the picture of the cardigan the main colour it screams is blue, not multi coloured, but you know what you will and won’t wear and it’s pointless knitting it to dislike it, I do hope you knit it someday though .
Hi Tina love your shawl! The colours look great with your cream whitmore jumper, I'd like to learn an icord ! ,,you 😮could display it on the wall but over the couch sounds good so you can use it at home,I've been able to crochet a bit more spice breaking my wrist , like the longer cuffs , Kaye x

Gorgeous FOs!! I think the shawl will be a cozy cozy piece. I think you’ll figure out how best to wear. S. W. shawls are beautiful and most are very large. I wouldn’t have the patience to make most, even tho gorgeous. I’ve been drooling over the Garter st crescent (??half circle??) shawl w scraps I think… end when sick of knitting it 🙃 lol. I need to follow your lead regarding using up yarn I have, or at least find a project: capelet / poncho-like (not w points in front & back tho), light-weight tee shirts for summer… I say as 2 sweaters are staring at me… Thanks for sharing your makes, always giving me ideas!
Hi Tina Lovely podcast as always. Your shawl is massive - I couldn't wear it either but draped over a chair etc to admire would be great of perhaps you could wear if you sit outside to knit and it is a bit windy or chilly. Your Whitmoor is fabulous, I'm just starting the sleeves on mine. Still can't make my mind up which style to make. Sorry that your cardigan/jacket has gone on the back burner at the moment and hope that you love the vest top you are knitting instead. Have a great time at the craft show and have a great week too., Take care Amanda from Lincolnshire xxx😀😀🧶🧶
Your shawl is beautiful but I'd also find it difficult to wear. I think having it for wearing about the house, is a good idea. Love the sweater! Take care.
Hi Tina. After an enforced leave of absence I’m finally back & able to catch up on all of your great videos 👏👏. Your shawl is absolutely gorgeous, & huge!! Shame you don’t feel it’s your style, it really is beautiful. All part of you’re own knitting/fashion learning curve I suppose. Love both of your Whitmore jumpers. 😍. I’ve started the Snuggle Down Cowl by Sew Sweet Violet. It’s a great pattern for using up scraps. I’m just using yarn from my stash, have bought the called for yarn but keeping it to use for a Xmas gift knit. Hope you enjoyed the craft show., were you the lady that took a suitcase on wheels? 😂I went on Weds with my daughter. Lovely day out. Was all prepared to spend a fortune & ended up just buying 3 packs of buttons 😂😂😂. They’re for Holly hedgehogs dress & knickers. She’s all finished now. Looking forward to seeing what you bought. Thanks for sharing Tina. Have a great week ❤️
That was very restrained of you . Congratulations on finishing Holly . No I was determined to stick to my list at the show . There wasn't much yarn there as you know but I did by some pink merino for a DK vest which has been on my mind 😁 . I'm glad you had a good time at the show . Shame we weren't there at the same time for a chat . Maybe next time 😀
@@Simplyinstitches I did wonder if I might see you there. It would’ve been great to say hello & thank you in person for all you’ve shared plus show you the socks we were both wearing 🤣 thanks to your tutorials. 👍. Yes, maybe next time 😀
What a shame you didn’t start the Andrea Mowry jacket. I couldn’t really understand your thinking. You say the colours are too much and won’t go with anything and then you knit a vest with those colours !!!🤔. The mind boggles 😳. The thing is, with the jacket, the main dominant overall colour would be the blue with just coloured squares. I was looking forward to seeing that. I thought you had the colours spot on. Never mind, I hope you find something else to use for the pattern. Your Whitmore looks great. It seems to suit everyone when I see it. I am so tempted myself. Did you know, you move your head to the side every time you wrap a stitch. Fascinating. I am going to video myself knitting to see how much I move 🤔. Enjoy the show tomorrow. ❤
Your Whitmoor sweater is beautiful. Love the colour. And the shawl is beautiful too. You learned a lot knitting it, it seems. You now know you’re more a garment knitter than a shawl knitter, and that bigger shawls aren’t for you. It is definitely huge. Beautiful but a bit useless other than decoration 🤷♀️. You also learned and leaned into what your style is, with the Andrea Mowry sweater - the one you aren’t going to knit in the colours you picked. I always have to be knitting, but never know what to knit! I’m not a garment knitter. I don’t like wearing shawls though love lacework in the knitting of them. I’m not a fan of cowls personally. It’s a dilemma 😱. I knit blankets. In acrylic, so I can donate them when done though it is hard to part with them sometimes. I’m not a sock knitter though I have just knit my first ones, to see what all the hype is about. I also knit hats and scarves and donate them too. Sigh. What’s a process knitter to do? 🤣 Have you seen a shawl on Ravelry called the butterfly or papillon I think in French? It’s a shawl, in exquisite colours. I’m tempted but I’d never wear it, so much work and short rows 😱😱. It is gorgeous. I love watching your vlogs on Sunday. Your creations are beautiful and I enjoy listening to your thought processes about your creations. Have a great time at the craft show. 🤗
I think you are a lovely knitter because you donate your knitting to help others . If I was you I would enjoy what I liked to knit and then donate it. Unfortunately I'm a selfish knitter and knit for me 🤣 I'm not all bad I do donate just not with my knitting 😁
Love your podcast everything you make is so beautiful.but can I ask a question please tell me how many rounds you did for the socks on the heal I just can't get it and it's always in did out please be blessed and thankyou so much my friend
Yes kitchen scales, you can get scales that are for lighter weights and are better ( some people refer to them as drug dealer scales 😲 ) I just use my digital kitchen ones for yarn 😊

I know , I only notice recently my head moves 🤣
When I say completed I mean made the decision to carry on
Your Whitmoor sweater is beautiful.
@@Simplyinstitches you’re so sweet. Thank you. And I don’t think you’re selfish at all, you give us your time 🤗❤️
Love your podcast everything you make is so beautiful.but can I ask a question please tell me how many rounds you did for the socks on the heal I just can't get it and it's always in did out please be blessed and thankyou so much my friend
Do you mean the heel flap ? At least 2 inches .
The part where you k3 and p to marker and it's always turn out on the wrong side what am I doing wrong
Hi Tina
Love your shawl and the whitmoor is gorgeous 😍, really suits you.
Can I ask what do you soak your knits in?
I just use a little fabric conditioner. Probably completely wrong but I can't bring myself to pay the price for the Soak you should use for wool 😊
Good idea. The wool socks do seem expensive. Thank you ☺️
Question could you teach a simple heel
I already have sock tutorials on my channel 😉😁
When you weight your yarn do you use a kitchen scale if not how do you weigh the yarn
Yes kitchen scales, you can get scales that are for lighter weights and are better ( some people refer to them as drug dealer scales 😲 ) I just use my digital kitchen ones for yarn 😊
what is the red sweater pattern?
Pretty I know you are happy to have completed it. Now relax.......
🤣 wise words 😁
