I usually agree with Ruthie, but not about it being "silly" of Trump to be upset with Netanyahu over being the first foreign leader to congratulate Biden on "winning" the presidency. The Democrats stole that election through various means, which is obvious to any impartial viewer, and certainly Netanyahu knew this. Netanyahu also knew that Biden was Obama's third team, representing the most pro-jihad anti Israel regime in US history. It was an evil thing that Netanyahu cozied up to Biden, and not good for Israel as he might have supposed or used an excuse to do so out of his own personal fears. Much damage has come to Israel by not standing for right rather than perceived protection from a corrupt man.
Conversations like this are interesting but miss the point. The fact that the Palestinian issue has been unresolved is the problem. The debate on how to prolong the status quo is misguided. As an outsider, I assume that Israel hopes to take more land incrementally over time. Thus, a deal or compromise would extinguish any more land. To be sure, the Palestinians have not been willing partners for peace. Lamenting the “occupation” has become a national pastime and an identity. The left liberal fracturing of Israel’s support has weakened the foundations of support. At some point, this issue must be resolved. As the world progresses. As technology progresses and becomes more ubiquitous, the need for a compromise should not be stalled. Who’s right and who’s wrong is not black and white nor is the standard upon which people judge morality has decayed. This war will have long ramifications. Not all of them good. As the world moves farther away from the holocaust, the truth of the dangers of antisemitism fester. The Jewish people are the most impressive people in the world. History has notoriously been a problem for humans. Religion can be an impediment also. The past is static and can’t be changed. Yet it guides the future inflexibly. Religion also binds people in a similar manner. The past was at one time the present and the future. What I mean is the making of history is still possible. History isn’t just a relic of the past. The flexibility to make what will someday history should not be lost. Being chained down by the past is foolish.
