I'm noticing Floral & Fading has become a fan favorite, seeing as everyone I talk to seems to put it as a favorite. I believe it is a good song, because it features their strengths and also shines a spotlight on Tony who doesn't get a lot of attention
ugh, I can't describe the ways Gold Medal Ribbon makes me feel. It's just so beautiful and so heartbreaking that it's about Vic's ex (who is now dead) and the "I'll teach you to love again" just breaks me
Really enjoyed this album, has an early OMAM feel to it. My favourite tracks are Circles, Phantom Power and Ludicrous Speed and the lead single Texas Is Forever. You should check out the new Hatebreed album
this record is so fucking good. i didn't expect texas is forever to be my favorite track but it is. i can't stop listening to it. hopefully i will be getting the vinyl tomorrow or sometime next weekend.
I am a huge ptv fan, I love all the albums pretty much equally. Misadventures was great and I was so happy when it came out. I fall asleep every night listening to it
Gold medal Ribbon Is simply amazing with great Mexican references. The drumming is reminiscent of Latin Tempos. Those synths you heard are directly coming from a 80's mexican pop song (forgot the name) but my mom listens to it all the time. Fucking love it
Song for Isabelle is by FAR their best song ever written. Yeah, it's nothing really different from their other stuff but the breakdown alone gives me chills every time.
I've been a fan of PTV since I was a small emu (almost 5 years already😱) haha and honestly I'm not gonna lie, this is my favorite almbum like it just makes my heart race so much and makes me feel so alive. It used to be A Flair for the Dramatic. This album definitely did not disappoint me. 😁
Phantom Power and Ludicrous Speed & Sambuka are my favourite songs on the album (closely followed by Dive In, Texas Is Forever and Today I Saw The Whole World). This is honestly my favourite PTV album.
Great review Jon!!! Really loving the album as well!! My favorite tracks off the album are Dive In, Texas is Forever, Floral & Fading, Circles, Today I Saw The Whole World, and Phantom Power and Ludicrous Speed. If I had to pick a least favorite track it would be The Divine Zero but I still love that song. Overall the album is a 4.5/5 for me and is one of my front runners for album of the year so far!! Hoping you review the new issues, against the current and Saosin records that are coming out this week!!
My favorite album has to be Selfish Machines, then Misadventures then A flair for the dramatic then Collide with the sky. I didn't like CWTS very much... I mean it has four tracks that I LOVE but the rest of the album lacks to me. where as the top three albums all have amazing songs, even their first album you can get into easily with a few listens just take their first ever opening sound like that is amazing. I had trouble listening to Misadventures at first I was blown away a little too much and didn't know If I could get into it, but with repeated listens I Loved it more and more. Now Selfish machines every single track is amazing, this album has helped me get through high school. Tackling many themes and dark subjects.
Phantom Power and Ludicrous Speed is my favorite song on the album. Gets stuck in my head all the time. Texas is Forever, Today I Saw The Whole World, Sambuka, and Floral & Fading are really good too.
okay so I just recently started listening to PTV and I took it from you that I should probably listen to CWTS first. halfway through the album and oh my god it's sooooo good. i'd have to say my favorite by far is either a match into water or bulls in the bronx.
totally agree, dive in/phantom power/today I saw the whole world are definitely my favorites...I feel like I'm the only one who isn't that into floral and fading tho
I've never been a big fan of Pierce The Veil until yesterday when this record came out. Dive In is such a kick ass song, as well as many others. It can get repetitive sometimes, but nonetheless an enjoyable listen. 8/10 Rabbit username: maxthemusicnerd
I've had a Rabbit account for a while now, and I'm really glad they're sponsoring you! (My user is princessandrea) I'm glad you enjoyed Misadventures, but I was wondering about your take on Circles. It was a so-so for me, especially the line "I think about my life without you and I start to cry" kind of killed it.
The thing I love about the guitar tracks on this record is that a lot of them started out as bass lines. I just feel it adds some new flavors sound wise.
Agreed, this album is really good. For me, not as good, as Collide With The Sky, but close. Great review as always! By the way, Jon, are you planning to review the new Tiny Moving Parts record, "Celebrate"? It's coming out on May 20th, I believe, even if you won't review it, I suggest you check it out if you haven't heard about them, especially since you seem to like some of the emo revival stuff (like Modern Baseball).
You should review when it's dark out by g-eazy! I saw your last review of his work and I just wondered what you thought about the most recent album. Love your reviews!
Loved your review! I think it lived up to the hype, I really enjoyed listening to it. I would have to say that Circles was one of my favorites off the album.
Hey John, what do you actually think about The Black from Asking Alexandria? I mean I saw your "review" but I don't really know until which point is it a parody or joke
My username is Khrev! I want to thank you for this review! If it wasnt for this review I probably wouldnt have had the motivation to give Pierce the Veil a chance. I am a fan of a good amount of A Day to Remember's music and have been looking for something with a heavy sound but not necessarily have as much screaming as most would have. Going to probably have this new album on repeat just to soak it all in! Again, thanks! Great review!
I'm not really sure if I should enter the contest because I'm really boring when I listen to music or watch something. Usually I'm just silent and still during anything. Anyways, I've always had a hard time with Pierce The Veil. I love the brutal instrumental work from the band and the occasional mariachi/synth moments, but Vic Fuentes' voice is really hard to get past. When I first heard "King For A Day" I couldn't tell him from Kellin Quinn. Both just sound really high pitched and whiny. If there's anything I can do to get into them more, it would be greatly appreciated.
I think those kinds of voices are just an acquired taste. I hated them until I listened to some more Circa Survive and recent (2013 to now) Dance Gavin Dance stuff and now I'm addicted to male vocalists with high voices.
+Robert Merriman I still think he sounds pretty whiny but it hasn't stopped me from liking Pierce The Veil's music and this last album which I really like. I honestly can't get past vocalists like Andy Biersack(BlackVeilBrides) and Ronnie Radke(FallingInReverse)
+Bucketoriley I think I can answer for him, it's because it's polarizing. You either dig the fuck out of it and it's 10/10 for you, or you just don't see how anyone can enjoy that. Me personally, I'm from the second group of people and I guess Jon feels the same way about the record too, otherwise he'd probably review it. With records like this, if you don't like it, it's hard to justify it, their music is way too weird and experimental for such analysis. And also every critic seems to admire this album, so I guess Jon doesn't want to get in contradiction with everyone and being called "narrow-minded" and stuff after this review. But it's just me guessing.
Alistair863 is my username. Thanks so much for showing us this app. I have a cousin that lives in Texas and I'm in Utah and music is all we talk about and I have showed him the majority of his favorite music and now we can listen to albums together when they drop. I am so excited. And this was a great review. Pierce The Veil have really put up a name for themselves
+Hooded Violin awesome man! Glad it sounds like you'll be getting a lot of use out of it! Good luck in the contest, and thanks for the kind words about the review
+Hooded Violin You're a winner! You were randomly selected out of a bowl of comments from the first and second channel! Hit me up on the ARTV Facebook or Twitter so we can plan out the details!
Bedless is really underrated. It really shows how much Pierce the Veil has matured and it shows of Tony's best skills.
that's my best friend's favorite ptv song and one of mine too :D
Yeah bedless is really good but all of songs in this album is really awesome.some songs are slow burn
Song For Isabelle is my favorite song off the album.
+I love Johnnie Guilbert Johnnie Guilbert is a cringey emo low life
+Gabe Maisano amen

"Especially king for a day- Holy shit!"
That's literally me
I loved the album. Pierce the Veil never disappoint.
I'm noticing Floral & Fading has become a fan favorite, seeing as everyone I talk to seems to put it as a favorite. I believe it is a good song, because it features their strengths and also shines a spotlight on Tony who doesn't get a lot of attention
Today I Saw The Whole World is still my favorite off this one.
Will you do a throwback review of selfish machines?? It's such a complicated album and I'm really curious to see what you have to say about it
I didn't think it was as good as their other albums at first, but after two or three listens I love it. 4.5/5. 🤘🏻
that was my thought their amazing so I knew they weren't gonna disappoint. And love your profile picture
Same
i still think that but its still a very good album
When I first heard PTV a month or so ago I really liked it and now i'm starting to listen to more bands like that... I am a proud human
ugh, I can't describe the ways Gold Medal Ribbon makes me feel. It's just so beautiful and so heartbreaking that it's about Vic's ex (who is now dead) and the "I'll teach you to love again" just breaks me
Floral And Fading, and Circles are my favorites from the album
+SuperGamingGuy nice
Mines too!!! I listened to the album a few times already and those are the two I keep going back to replay😄
Sambuka

PLEASE REVIEW SELFISH MACHINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pahi Nuva he said he might do a throwback review of it, but that hasn't happened yet...
Really enjoyed this album, has an early OMAM feel to it. My favourite tracks are Circles, Phantom Power and Ludicrous Speed and the lead single Texas Is Forever. You should check out the new Hatebreed album

Just started watching your channel. Man, I'm obsessed!
Who else fell in love with bedless
me 👏
Me 🤗
BEDLESS!
Song for Isabelle is by FAR their best song ever written. Yeah, it's nothing really different from their other stuff but the breakdown alone gives me chills every time.
Circles is my favorite PTV song. Used to be Hold On Till May.
Same! I love floral and fading soooo much. It wasn't a song I expected from them but I fell in love with it.
Will you be reviewing The issues album headspace?
+Blah Blahs nah
+ARTV PLEASE
+ARTV why nah
+ARTV can you give brief thoughts and a rating at least?
Gabriel Starkey
2/5 bad lyrics, ok instrumentals. Screamer sounds so bland, and clean vox are uninteresting to me
Floral and Fading and Texas is Forever are my favorite
I've been a fan of PTV since I was a small emu (almost 5 years already😱) haha and honestly I'm not gonna lie, this is my favorite almbum like it just makes my heart race so much and makes me feel so alive. It used to be A Flair for the Dramatic. This album definitely did not disappoint me. 😁
Awesome review as always. Just a quick ask, are you going to review DGD's tree city sessions? 😁
Phantom Power and Ludicrous Speed & Sambuka are my favourite songs on the album (closely followed by Dive In, Texas Is Forever and Today I Saw The Whole World). This is honestly my favourite PTV album.
Since its been about a year, could you maybe do an updated CD collection?
phantom power and ludicrous speed and songs for isabelle are my fav
Thanks! I've been on your channel many times today waiting desperately for this review to come out XD
Great review Jon!!! Really loving the album as well!! Good review, once again Jon.

Can you do a review of "Pink Guy" and his self titled album
You should review when it's dark out by g-eazy! I saw your last review of his work and I just wondered what you thought about the most recent album. Love your reviews!
1. Misadventures
2. Flair for the dramatic

Loved your review! I think it lived up to the hype, I really enjoyed listening to it. I would have to say that Circles was one of my favorites off the album.
