    My mom used to make sukhi moong dal very frequently especially school dabba. Mara si hamesha soft thai jaati hathi. Tamaro paani and dal nu proportion exact che. 20 mins ma ekdum slow acch par pakavanu ….aa badha details si finally maara si chutti mag ni dal ghani acchi baney che.

    3 times water as recommended is too much. It took so long for it to dry out. Mine is still at almost half the water after 1 hour.

      It should b 1:1 ratio

      Yes this recipe had used too much water and not right as it will take lig to dry and moong will become mushy

    Very nice recipe. But I agree. Seems like water is little too much. I make it in pressure cooker and works perfect.
    One cup moog dal, sock half an hour. In pressure cooker add 2 teaspoon oil, mustard seeds and any other spices you like then add just dry daal NO WATER. Soute for 2mints. Then add one cup water for one cup daal. Cook until 3 whistle.

    Great recipe but I was always taught to put mustard seeds first, let them pop then add cumin and rest . Your thoughts?

      That's right but these days people put it all together but better to put mustard seeds first let them pop and while popping add jeera
