I would love to see you do manga. Also, can we please see more VR videos too?
yo no way
ghost is goated
I feel like at this point Jazza should put the art mediums he tried in a wheel and fuse two mediums chosen by the wheel
This is such a great idea!! A wheel of mediums! He can do duos and trios. @jazza get on this!
i love this idea
Most definitely
Have some serious problems, like watercolor with oil being unfeasible...
@@tiagodagostini but Jazza loves trying things that "shouldn't" work and finding a way to make it at least sorta work!
Only 8 minutes?!
Please don't lose sight of the fact that sometimes what the viewers want doesn't always align with the RUclips algorithm. We're OK with longer videos!
It's a smart paywall
he only made it so short becuse of the sponsorship
8:23 to be precise 😁
I agree, if its jazza I could watch him longer than normal.
I think though it probably also depends on the edit and the amount of time spent
A gold dragon with its scales made with the gold leaf would be cool, or a red dragon with its hoard of gold.
or a wood dragon with gold leaf accents
The one thing I absolutely adore about Jazza is that he makes difficult, tasks or techniques seem much more approachable. I had reservations about using gold leaf, and watching this video allowed me a bit more courage to get at it! Thank you so much for your fearless takes on art and life!
Probably one of the reasons he's so popular. It's so easy for pros in the art community to put people off by being too serious. Jazza has had such a positive impact by showing "Hey, just have fun!" and honestly, I respect him so much for it. His impact has been enormous
@@edwardwestmoreland-caunter6128that’s why I lovw Jazza so mych. It makes it obvious that even pros don’t know everything and that’s okay. He makes Art approachable
3:27 the “I made a oopsie” face.
Just 8min. You made some Amazing art. And you went over it like "pop"
We love your art. Don't be afraid to show us all of it. We love everything you do to make your art. Even if it includes 1 or 2 dad jokes😂
I assume the video was a lot shorter because it was sponsored
I just have so much fun watching Jazz’s pick a medium, mess with it, and then just absolutely kill it in his final piece.
You’re doing amazing! and honestly gives me inspiration for my own art :)
Jazza I reckon you should try drawing with a manga pen, you dont have to necessarily draw manga, I just think they’re fun to draw with
First you need to define what the heck that is, because by my search there is no such thing, just regular drawing equipment that just coincidentally could feasibly be used to draw manga which is entirely meaningless as a term
If you mean copic markers he basically has a large selection of art made with them!
@@KoushakurI think they mean g-pens
A manga pen is really just a typical ink dip pen with a couple nibs being more common than others. And he’s already drawn with an ink pen before
@@Koushakur 🤣
This video was GOLDEN. I’d like to see you paint Golden Freddy from FNAF and use gold leafs in a future video.
These pieces are AWESOME. The way you played with texture, an almost 3D effect with the gold leaf on gold paint, the colours, the light and shade. Love it!!
Ghost was cool with some sass to him when he was first introduced in OG MW2. Now he looks like Spawn. (Does anyone else remember that comic or is it just me?) Painting turned out pretty awesome, but hooh boy, Infinity Ward, how the mighty have fallen.
That's not a "looks like"...that's literally spawn, but with some areas colored gold.
Wonder if they took the skin from other games that already had spawn
Jazza, great video! I think it would be awesome if you tried wood cut printing. It’s essentially where you carve a drawing into a piece of wood, and then roll ink over it. You can also transfer the ink onto a pice of paper, and it has a cool effect. I think you would really like it, and it would be fun to watch.
Or linocut!
He has done it
0:24 That's Spawn Jazza! Like what! How do,you not know this?
I loved seeing Jazza's face light up while he was painting. He looked really happy.
The art you created was incredible!
I'm on team longer videos. But I don't want that to be over shot by the fact that this video and the art were incredible. I'm so happy watching Jazza create things especially things that make him happy.
Always nice to have a Jazza's video to have fun and nice vibes for the day....especially when it's 11:40 p.m 'cause I'm from France x)
Always been inspired by your artistic work Jazza
I love it
"They're tips, not rules" - Jazza 2023 😂
Jazza, that's actually a Spawn skin
also happy to see Jazza smiling again
I love the 3D effect you got after you layered paint on top of the gold leaf. Very cool.
I find the most random things funny - I laughed when you were introducing the gold leaf
Jazza: Ooh it's very gold
Cameraman: I think it's made of Gold
Jazza: Actual Gold?
Cameraman: Yea
I genuinenly think those are two of my absolute favorite artworks you ever did! Amazing job there. Greets from Germany
Same!
Your timing is amazing. I just started dabbling with gold leaf to do some gilding onto some leather that I've been carving lately. Here's to more artsy experiments! Cheers
Jazza, please don't cut the video length so much, we love watching the process of you making the art.
We don't just love seeing your art, we love seeing your reactions, thought processes and those little gags!
I just wish this was longer. I love watching you do art.
I think the waiting a day really took it to the next level. It was evenly laid out, showed the texture of the canvas, and didn’t appear to have any holes in it. Nice work, Jazza! 👍
“Ooh it’s very gold!” is something I would say in that exact way and hearing somebody else make a comment like that made me so happy 😂
5:46 WOWWWW
Years ago when I was a lil kid my mom was really great working with gold leaf on ceramic statues. I did not have the patience! : )
I'm blown away by the results! Looks SO amazing. The first piece where goldleaf is used on the industrial background is something I've never seen and would never in a million years come up with and I love it so much! And the second one - somehow I don't think I've seen paint put over the leaf, either. Both paintings are stunning!
More time lapse of you working the stuff would be cool. Like speed it up a little on the crafting part.
I don't understand why this is only 8 minutes long. There must be more footage. I would watch you sketching and applying the gold leaf as would many others
algorithm doesn't like videos that are too long
@@noaccount2494 Many of the biggest channels on RUclips have longer videos.
@@noaccount2494 Make content for your audience that is here, don't cater to an algorithm that is ever changing.
@@MaikNLthere's a big issue with that advice. Most people only watch from the home page. I've had to go through my subscrbed list to watch most channels I watch. If you've got 100s like me most aren't gonna get watched if you aren't popping up in my feed anymore. So by focusing on the subs you in fact leave out most of your subs because most will never see it. From a business view that's a problem.
@@noaccount2494really? I keep getting 30 min long videos in my recs all the time
Love to see the two videos a week again. I think this schedule and production scale fits the Jazza vibe way more
"They're tips, they're not RULES!" 😂😂 Thank you Jazza for making my day!
Fantastic layering. I gotta say I was I intrigued by the gold leaf but captivated by your painting techniques. My son and I are picking up a lot of tips. Thanks!
I love a good ol' painting video from Jazza with a nice twist! Beautiful pieces and you executed the gold leaf superbly!
Wow Jazza they look bloody awesome mate, really eye 👀 catching. Keep up with the awesome art work xxxxxx ❤
Omggg this is sooooo dope!! I've always loved watching artists work with gold leaf... Kacha, Jazza, there can't be too much gold work out here. Love it!
Would love to see more of this and a longer video of this!
For everyone bitching about this 'only' being an 8 minute video, I've some news for you. Content creators are living beings with existences outside the platform. You have no idea what else may have been going on for him at the time.
So many choosing beggars. Jazza (and every creator) don't owe us anything. They choose to share their worlds with us. Just watch the vid & enjoy. It really is that simple.
“[long pause] They’re tips. They’re not rules.” I’m gasping 😂
Jazza: "Landscapes aren't really my forte"
Me: "But... all my favorite works of yours have been landscapes..."
This is great! Amazing results better than expected! So proffessional!!
I love the dive painting! That gold added such a great aesthetic and feel. You did a great job Jazza!
That first painting is epic.
I love seeing jazz branch out into any sort of metal or woodworking lol. Ik this is different but recently he's done some cool stuff
Just incredible, you're just amazing Jazza!
I haven't been around for a while on this channel, have had a lot going on personally. But the good thing is that I have a year of making up for, to keep checking out your amazement in video form.
❤ From your fellow Aussie follower of several years.
"They're tips. They're not rules." Love this!
The finished painting is so epic! And agreed - better when it moves! So dynamic
Really love the outcome here! Neat technique, Jazza! Thank you for sharing!
I love how Jazza is still finding things he hasnt tried yet! I'm surprised he hasn't tried this yet.
The first canvas remainds me of the book Fahrenheit 451, i love it! I always thought you could make a great DnD dice set with gold leaf for the numbers or to mix with the resin
Those look so cool! I'd love to see a piece where all the paint itself is a highly matte finish so the gold just stands out that much more
Oh wow, that piece with the lone soldier was awesome!!!!!
Lil’ history fact to share about gold leaf- to be able to apply it, the only thing soft enough in the UK(? Might’ve been Europe, but that detail I can’t remember) to lift the leaf without ruining it was the hair from squirrels tails!
That first painting with the golden sun--just honestly amazing with the gold leaf.
This is the first time in months that I've been inspired to make art. Thank you ❤️ ❤
What I appreciate about your sponsored videos is that you still put passion into them just like you would in videos that aren't sponsored. You don't just half-ass it for the easy money and that's commendable.
p.s. the gold-leaf art works were usually next to candles. The light moves.
Both the dabble and dive artworks are amazing!
Wow, the gold leaf does really pop out at you! Although it is literal gold being applied here. I know that gold leaf itself isn't that expensive, as it is very thin, tiny amounts of gold, but I'd still be hesitant about brushing away precious metals once I'm done creating my art. Or rather, I guess I wouldn't know when I'd make a piece "worthy" of being gilded in gold!
What he's using is probably "composition gold", it's more of a copper amalgam with other metals.
As the other comment mentioned and I myself also commented if it was real gold, it would still be quite expensive. I believe he’s using gold leaf imitation sheets which are quite easy to get hold of and or a decent price. I have some myself, it’s a mix of brass, copper and zinc.
Loved this! Learned something and giggled a lot!!! Thanks for helping me tame my frustration!!! ❤😂😊😂❤
I’ve been loving the videos and artworks Jazza has been putting out recently, idk why it feels so refreshing and I’m just so happy seeing him dive into all these unique mediums? It really looks like he’s enjoying himself more. 😊
WOW fell in love with the first piece.
When working with genuine gold leaf you aren’t supposed to not touch the gold until it’s been sealed. Fingerprints tarnish. Gilders use a squirrel tail brush to pick it up with static electricity. The. It’s varnished down & durable. 💕❤️💕
DUDE this actually looks incredible, both pieces! The vids just keep getting better and better
Love this video jazza ❤. I've used gold leaf before on my paintings. Much love from uk Scotland
In college we used a brush rubbed against our hair to create static,it allowed us to pick up the gold leaf and place it on the areas we wanted it to be on. Still a fun medium to work with
Wow, that’s a neat little trick 🤔. Unfortunately, I don’t think that would work with black hair types because of the amount of products we use😂.
i use that for my pour painting decor. it is delicate
Wow, the last painting is amazing. Well done :D
That was an interesting video using gold leaf sheets. These portraits came out very nice. I have seen a few tumbler customizers use gold leaf on a tumbler and looks gr8! That is a Lil to far outside my comfort Zane at this time, but u never know what the future holds.
Always a pleasure to watch ur videos Jazza...keep the cre8ivity, inspiration & videos coming!! Til next tyme...keep those cre8ive juices abrewing!!!
Jazza just randomly showing off how talented he is 😄
I worked with gold leaf years ago (experimentally). Great results but what a pain.
Love your projects!
This was a cool experiment. I love it when the gold is a bit away from the light, it pops really well. Beautiful work!
I really like it when you experiment with new materials and mediums. Very nice work!
3:29 " They're tips not rules"-jazza [insert rest of the name]
Both pieces are incredible! I’m inspired to try gold leaf in my artwork now
The only time I ever used gold leaf was back in college for a typography project and I hated it lol. It was such a pain to work with and ended up going to a very expensive gold pain for the smaller details. I got an A still, but damn, was it a pain! I'm glad that you enjoyed working with it and your piece came out looking really cool. 😎👍
I really wish I had his workshop and all of the tool and stuff. I love the terrain videos.
I really love Jazza. He makes me want to try all the things he does ❤ He fires up my dead passion for art. Love you Jazza, keep making art❤❤
Okay the second painting is sick 🔥🔥🔥
I’m almost more inclined to watch the colabs with big franchises because I’m stoked seeing jazza getting that $$$
The final piece actually looks like it‘s a 3D head, when you move it around! You set the highlights and shadows so spectacularly well! Awesome!
seeing you try all these different mediums has me really inspired to try more stuff myself
This is so cool! Fabulously done Jazza 🥳🥳!!
Wow that final artwork is amazing
Having used gold leaf, I'll say good jod on your first foray in what's a messy, and time consuming medium. For future reference, gold is commonly done on a red/reddish background so the eyes get tricked to glossing over any cracks. Doing it over the gold acrylic does the same thing. If using silver leaf, it's done over blue, for the same reason.
If you want it to have a smoother appearance, a gesso base, sanded/shaped smooth is what you want, along with a thin, even coat of size (or two). Don't let the size dry and get gloppy on the brush, it likes to end up on the piece you're working on, and can be difficult to fix.
Don't mind the shorter format, but do enjoy the longer videos more.
Fun fact, before retro reflective tape and highly reflective paints fire trucks used gold leaf for reflective markings
Another great video by Jazza. Always fun to watch.
Absolutely amazing. I would love to see you do more like this
The last skull artwork is sick AF
The first painting with the soldier turned out absolutely amazing!! If I would see it in a store I would buy it! 😍
WOW THIS IS AWESOME! I’d love to try gold leaf, it always looks incredible 😍
Every video you upload is top quality. I love the way you use your abilities in all different artstyles.
Wow!!! Both pieces of art are great!
I reckon it would be really cool to do a changing perspective drawing in gold leaf. One of those illusions that shows a street scene one way you walk to the other side and it shows the street scene another way
Your attitude towards trying things always motivates me to also try!! I am the type of person who just assumes any art medium is workable as long as you give it a shot :))
I saw the thumbnail and I went "OH GHOST! CALL OF DUTY???" Amazing work!!❤
I'd be curious seeing a gold painting with only rim lights and specular parts getting the foil, feels this was the reverse of that. The landscape definitely worked because the shine was as if the sun or some light in the viewers space was moving about. Very cool
