I have no prior knowledge of V-ray, but I downloaded it today to do this tutorial. I managed to replicate a similar, simpler model to yours by following your instructions. Everything went smoothly, Thank you so much for providing this tutorial.
Currently working on my portfolio for grad school and saw this video in my recommended. I hated how the photos I took of my physical model turned out so this tutorial is perfect! Thank you
Nice tutorial, I like how quick this was to do. If given more time, I would probably have separated the geometry of the facade into its own objects, to enable the use of displacement textures. That would allow you to enhance the 'imperfections' but that also takes a lot more time.
thanks! it's because it was all made inside groups and components. You have to group and place in component the building, and outside of it all, you can model the table
Can you please show the full step of how to the make the groups and and then make the Different sections, I was a little confused, it still changes when I make a new one. What am I doing wrong ?
the most important thing is to make sure each time you create a section, you create a component and group it. After this you can create another section on top of it.
I didn't get that part in which you are doing the cuts and hiding the rest of the building. When I try it it hides all of the building, not just the part am cutting. And another thing is, when i render on vray, the cut affects the scenario too, son i don´t get those maquettes like the one you got there. Could you explain please?
Thanks John! Not really. I understand that you have to edit certain parameters within each furniture family in order for it to be visible when using the section plane. But probably the channel Balkan Architect can have a more specific answer
hii could you explain how to connect Sketchup and 3Ds max that way? i have to import and export models for rendering but as i understood you can do it in sketchup so could you explain how?BTW thank you for the video it was so impresive especialy for first year Archi student
It looks nice until you zoom in. You can see the grain of the wood is not realistic. The materials are "too perfect". And the edges are perfect 90 degree angles.
completely agree Frank! I could spend some more time on the model to make it look more realistic! I also should have rounded the corners with the Fredo plugin and looked for higher resolution textures

I just love your maquettes. It’s a thing that everyone can put in their portfolio, competition board.
Thanks! It actually is. It really gives a different feel to the presentation when you see maquettes instead of a ton of renders

Beautiful digital maquette! I did not understand how you could model the table without it being cut too by the section though..

Yes, I saw the video "Building an 11-story building in 28 hours" was rendered with UE5.
I'm going to adapt this technique into a Blender3d workflow and see how it goes!
would love to see the results!
are there any way to export RENDER ID in using REVIT or some rendering software?
i'm sutudent now but it's little expencive to buy V-Ray license.
wow! you want me too come back to sketchup ✨✨❤❤

Sir which software are uses for design 3d model ?
Sir can you do the same tutorial but with using lumion rather than v-ray?
thanks for the suggestion!
really? what for? for content? its much easier...
Great video Steven! Do you know how to model the table and back wall in revit so that they do not cut when using the section planes?
Thanks John! Not really. I understand that you have to edit certain parameters within each furniture family in order for it to be visible when using the section plane. But probably the channel Balkan Architect can have a more specific answer
great tutorial! what tool set do you have at the bottom of your window?
thanks! It's the 1001 bit tool plugin
hi, how did you get the render ID layer please? thanks a lot :)
when you export from vray, there is an option called render channels where you can select the render id

your comment is very good
Hi Steve. Do you know any groups that holds competition free for all? W/o entrance fee?
I wanna hone my skills, i lack a tons. Also do you still do critics?
Will Sketchup Pro work for doing traditional architecture design models?
a lot of people use Sketchup for everything! It really depends on your workflow!
How does my model look way worse after the very first step lol you did a great job 👏
Thanks 😅
What do you think of this video?
@@MaryannLogan it's very informative 👌
which version of sketchup are you using? im an architecture student and want to use sketchup but i cant render on the free version
Most likely the studio version, it’s $55 a year for students.
yep!
how can you export color selective files through photoshop like that, can you show me?Thank you so much....
you mean the render id that is in vray?
This is so cool I hate VRay though :/
haha why?
@@ShowItBetter mainly due to the render times, I'd rather use Enscape or Lumion and enhance it in Photoshop
Does anybody know how can I download vray crack for SketchUp. I researched it but couldn't find any download link??

can you share this model file?
Hi Jinee! At the moment this file is not for sale, but maybe in the future I'll make them available :)
