Great interview. There’s an expression on the Navajo Nation that in many remote villages and hamlets across the Reservation, there’s an unsung runner who is the fastest man or woman no one has ever heard of. Meaning that there are ordinary working people who are among the best in the ultra-running sport, but are unknown to the professional running crowd. In an age of celebrity worship, it’s good to keep in perspective this simple truth, which for all we know is true throughout the entire world. Vincent is a reminder that despite all the hype, one determined and gifted athlete few had previously heard of before is able not just to aspire to greatness, but embody it.
This is too good. Seeing people that like & admire their fellow racers have a conversation, golden. The conversations you are able to craft to their comfort, ideal. Great chat.
What a great conversation that was Dylan. So interesting to hear from an athlete who is not a full time pro and also from someone who doesn’t race a ton. Vincent comes across as a humble and lovely guy who genuinely loves the outdoors. Congrats to him and to you guys at Freetrail for the simply amazing content. Thank you 👊
Outstanding interview with an amazing addition to the ultrarunning elite. Vincent is quite fascinating, with a humble presences, thoughtful responses, and his story of staying within himself. The mental fortitude to block out thoughts of what he was accomplishing, until the finish line, is a very envious ability. Looking forward to seeing more of Vincent.
Loving everything Freetrail is doing but this interview is extra special. Loved hearing his story and his humble hard work to take the win at the biggest stage. Thank you as always for sharing.
Wonderfully well-researched intriguing questions! Fantastic humble wonderful thoughtful human being!!! Wishing him and his loved ones an abundance of blessings!
This is the soul of the sport we love and a conversation for all time. Congrats to Vincent and congrats to Freetrail on an awesome week of sport! Love from Boulder!
it was SO emotional!! Vincent, I teared up when you popped that smile and sprung into that sweet stride when you rounded the corner to the finish! And that after so many hours on a brutal trail! It was so wonderful!! and what a team you and your wife! Was fun to watch the coverage of the aid stations. 🥰
Thanks so much for this Dylan. Incredible to get him in the studio so soon after that effort. On top of his finish line interview it really paints a picture of a remarkable athlete and a remarkable human.
Wow! Congratulations on an amazing race! What a great interviewee! Vincent and his wife make an awesome team and loved watching some of the coverage of those two at the aid stations. Looking forward to listening to a lot more pre and post race interviews with Vincent in the future. Kudos!!🎉
Thank you Dylan for a great interview, I only wished it was 3 times longer. Vincent, you have certainly gained a fan! I can’t wait to follow your journey, and hope you can keep that inner spark and authenticity even as undoubtably (and deservedly) you will be sprung into the centre stage of the sport.
Vincent won the half marathon and Rod won the 50k at my first 50k the week we found out the pandemic was a thing, so cool to see both of them break out like they have this year
Man what a massive fail from Tom. The man has been working so hard for the main goal of his year. i'd love to hear more about this failure, what happened. He must be devastated rn
I've seen Vincent's name pop up on Strava on my local trails, and now seeing his face, I know I've seen him on the trail at least once. I had no idea he was a sponsored pro runner. He seems like a really nice and humble person!
Dylan please do not Compare yourself to the athlete your interviewing at the start, it is rude. E.g. I took the stairs you took the elevator. The interview is about them and their accomplishments
What a super fascinating and well-spoken athlete. One of my favorite interviews ever on the Freetrail podcast. Thanks.

He doesn't have sponsorships/isn't a pro. He works full time as a product engineer for Hoka.
Le sport le plus stylé de l'univers avec le vainqueur le plus 'humble' du monde entier 🎉
Awesome, great interview,
Reminds me of Jasmin at Berkley. Epic.
Bravo Vincent!
Fantastique!
This was fantastic!
Congrats Vinc!
A legend!
what a guy
About time…….😂
Was there any clarity about the final gear check where he had some trouble?
Excellent interview fellas.
Did we think he would win? NO.
Are we surprised he won? ALSO NO. 🎉
too bad the live images of the race were too blurry, hard to watch
Dylan please do not

This was a joke from Dylan !
