    It's always a good murning when Paradisa City gets an update! Hooray!
    0:59 - this is what you get when you rely to much on technology 😂
    1:42 - looking good buddy!
    3:53 - I love the 7 stud wide style, really glad to see more of your (industrial) vehicles are getting the upgrade!
    5:24 - the windshield looks amazing, especially the smooth transition with the sides
    6:22 - I had that set! I really liked it at the time, not too sure about it now as it looks very juniorised. But this artcic theme was cool (😎), especially the The Thing vibes it had
    6:47 - wow never thought about that UV light damaging the coloured bricks. That's good to know
    11:38 - it looks so snug in there
    12:55 - haha, first time I saw that stud my immediate thought was "some garbage got stuck under there""
    14:27 - I think I prefer 2.0!
    Very nice job Hans, as always 👍

      Haha Good murning Super Secret!! 😃
      Omg! I loooove the Arctic sets from 2000!! That snow plow being one of my top favorites!! It just looked soooo cool!! I had them, lost then in 2009 and managed to re-acquire them again in 2019 (before the price surges)! Honestly the Space port, Res-Q , Diver and Arctic sub-themes were not nearly as horribly juniorized (only slightly) as they did to the ENTIRE town theme from 1997-2000 (made me so mad when they juniorized EVERYTHING!! in the town sets (except the subthemes)...and I consider as one of the primary reasons Lego sales plummeted and nearly bankrupted them right around that time)
      (I consider these as part of..or prequel to... the specialized summer release subthemes that Lego currently does every year now: Explorers: jungle, ocean, volcano, arctic, space/mars, ..wildlife rescue 2021.....and now Farm?? for 2022...or is it the space (moon base) sets?) ..
      I'm not sure the UV light damage is noticeable in all colors, but I was referring to the typical white bricks being the worst at UV yellowing (also happens to yellow, blue, and grey colors)
      hahaha!! I really laughed about "some garbage stuck under there" Totally makes sense!
      Glad you liked the improvements! 😃

    Awesome video Hans 👍! I really like this garbage truck! The design looks awesome! I like how you made the truck 7 Studs wide! I think that the speed champions Cara should be 7 bricks wide so they aren't as big, but also ti still allow more detail! The mechanism for this truck is great! I'm looking forward to seeing the dump truck and cement mixer mocs! Also, glad to see that ypur sigfig got a new haircut! Oh, and wait, don't dump the 1x2 plates in the garbage! You can give them to me 😉!

    • @TealBricksinParadisa
      @TealBricksinParadisa  2 года назад +2

      Hahaha!! I pile of trashy 1x2 plates coming your way dude!! 😂
      Actually Imho!...7 stud wide speed champion sports cars would still be too wide for my protocols of scale, so I think they might as well stay at 8 studs wide with great detail they have and they are good as models for display and not for Lego City minifig scale! ...But it would be cool if they made just a few 6 stud wide lego city cars to have some of the awesomeness of the 8-wide speed champion cars!
      Yes! You'll get to see those trucks soon!! I know you love construction vehicles!! 😄 My tower crane has to be my next video though!
      Thank you so much Tayshon and I'm stoked you like the 7 wide on the Garbage Truck 2.0! 😊

    Ok, I thought the original design was smooth af. But this... this proves me wrong. 😅 Love the new cab! Especially the continuous windows all the way down and the slanted roof make this look like a real modern utility truck.
    I still think a seven stud wide windshield would be amazing but by now the six stud windshield with the half stud lips on the sides looks so normal that I'm afraid I'll miss it if they ever do give us odd width glass elements. 🙈
    While the cab actually does look bigger now, the truck overall actually seems more compact now. Integrating the mechanism into the side like that really helped there. And the space to tuck the arm into underneath is just 😙👌 perfect! Gave me butterflies. 😅
    Can't wait to see more of your odd vehicles! Unfortunately, I've been quite busy lately and haven't been able to work on vehicles myself (except for the tram - that's gotten so close to just ordering parts now it scares me a bit 😅🙈) so I'm a bit starved for that kind of thing.

    • @TealBricksinParadisa
      @TealBricksinParadisa  2 года назад +2

      Haha! Yes I have that similar thoughts! .."this is smooth AF and there's no way I can make it any better!! 😍......(8 months later I look at it--->)...huh?..hmmmmm!...WHAT IF.....??? 🤔" and then I'm blown away with how much better it became 😆
      It'll probably take Lego til the year 2060 before they see any value in making 7 & 5 wide windscreens 😂🥺 Fingers crossed tho!
      I actually first tried to use the 61484 roof/canopy piece on top but then it made the cab ridiculously chubby and overscaled looking and that's what inspired me to come up with the sleeker sloped effect on top!
      My videos for vehicles get much less views compared with buildings (the garbage truck 1.0 being the exception) so I try to balance this channel out with slightly more videos about buildings (actually one of the reasons why I held off on making videos for so long until I could release the Craft (grand) Emporium video), so I'm glad to hear that you're deprived for vehicle videos hahaha
      Yeah I've been hit with more interruptions/ workload than expected and has slowed me down as well these past 3 months! Ordering new parts is always exciting/ scary-(my wallet!!) though! 😆

    • @witerabid
      @witerabid 2 года назад +1

      @Teal Bricks in Paradisa I know exactly how that feels. My first iteration of the cinema was basically just a rough outline of how big it can be to not interfere with the tram going through. Then I started to experiment with some actual pieces and it started coming together and I thought this was it. That's the look for it and now I can start from there. And then I bought this Lego Friends set... and tried to incorporate that into the front of the building and suddenly all these things that I thought were pretty good already got changed to something actually good. 😅
      Oh, yes! That piece would've been way too bulky. I used it on an actual semi truck and it still seems too big somehow. The slope was really the best... compromise..? - it's not really a compromise though if it's better than either alternative. 😅
      Vehicles, trains, anything involving animals,... there are many fairly marginalized Lego themes that don't get nearly enough love from outside their little bubbles. It just seems like everyone is interested in modular style buildings and everything else is background decoration for the buildings at most... Most Lego cities actually just use official City or Speed Champions cars and are done with the topic. Actual MOCs - especially with as coherent a plan as you have - are incredibly rare. And time and effort are certainly a part of the reason for the rarity. But I'm absolutely here for all of it!

      @@witerabid Never stop improving, I say!! The friend's Cinema set is worthy...I like the idea that you fused it with the PC!
      We think alike in regards to having all inclusive style to everything we create: cities, buildings, structures & vehicles! 🙌🏼
      speaking of animals! I'm super stoked with the news of the new summer farm pieces coming! Corn on the cob (likely oversized just like the carrot 😂), piglets, calf, return of the dairy cows, & lamb!!

      @@TealBricksinParadisa To be honest, I was too late for the Palace Cinema. I mean, now it's actually a bit fortunate that I was because it wouldn't fit in with the rest and I would never have tried to put that above the tram. 😅
      At first I just knew the tram would have to go through this line of buildings and I thought it would be a waste of space to just leave the plot empty. For a long time I had no idea what to put there. It had to be some sort of entertainment place because nobody would want to live right above the regular tram service. I played around with a few ideas like a bar or a bowling alley, but in the end I took inspiration from the city I grew up in. Granted, their tram doesn't exist anymore and it never actually went through a building but there is a cinema that used to sit right between the tram tracks on one side and the actual train station on the other. And that was the spark I needed. A cinema also fits in with the surrounding buildings very well and I could have some fun with making it ugly on the back and covering it in a faux façade towards the street. So I was planning on getting the cinema from the Town Plan anniversary set and starting from there. But, once again, I took too long and now that's really expensive as well. I had almost resigned to just getting the pieces and building it from scratch when I saw the Heart Lake Cinema at the store. And it has some really perfect pieces for what I had planned. I still need to order a lot more, of course - Friends sets tend to not have enough walls, afterall - but it was the proverbial breakthrough I needed.
      Oh, absolutely. I'm not a fan of just throwing together anything that technically fits into a city. I always wanted a story-driven city because stories are what makes builds come to life. I mean, Lego are doing it more and more in the modular series as well - there's usually some sort of story element that ties the whole set together like the donut thief in the police set or the cookie smugglers in the Detectives Office. But I wanted something bigger, something that ties the whole city together. And then I found you who thinks the same way. Our stories are totally different though - and I love that they are - but in that video where you just put the things you had gotten done so far all next to each other it just felt so right! It really does make all the difference! ❤
      Oh, animals are always a great addition. If there's a dog in a set I'm already inclined to buy it. 😅 Farm animals are a bit tougher to include but I have some ideas for a few of them. 😊 Luckily, the overall story does allow some more unusual things. Really can't wait to get to that part but it's also the hardest part to design. 😅

      @@witerabid I had a feeling I was assuming too much about your cinema! Right after I hit send I thought..he didn't actually say he had the PC. 😆
      I love that you got inspiration from your home city! When inspiration hits...its exciting! And then when more inspiration comes along and builds onto the previous one and the best creations just keep evolving better and better! It's awesome to know you utilize and appreciate the creative process! 😃 I'm looking forward to seeing your cinema with Tram (and your city overall!) when it's ready for show & tell!
      In 2018-2019 I was starting to slowly collect a lot of older sets I was fond of/ or missed out on. Prices were reasonable. I seriously had no idea the pandemic was gonna awaken EVERYONE and their grandmother's idea to do the same and now all the good old stuff is either gone or selling for ghazillions $$$$ 😆😒 Not cool haha
      Yeah I don't have any plans for farm animals in Paradisa City but I still think the pieces are super cool haha!

    Beautiful engineering design, man! Love how it flawlessly (1 take? 😉) picked up three different types of garbage bins! 🙂
    Not to mention that I am still blown away how you can make odd-numbered 7-stud vehicles look so good and sleek - not really bulky due to all the extra jumper plates required! 😎

      Thanks BBH!! (star wars pun!) I'm stoked you like it!! Yeah the grabber mechanism works amazingly well 98% of the time and can definitely do all three garbage cans in one take! However that shot was probably the 4th take due to other filming requirements not being right (40-50% of all my videos I end up doing multiple recordings) and because when I drove the truck up to the cans I kept accidentally rolling it slightly angled towards the side of the road where it might fall off 😆
