Krogans are what you get when you turn a Halo Gunt into a Warhammer 40k Space Marine. It is to be expected when their planet is LORD TACHANKA! but seriously, this is the most well thoughtout alien creature in my opinion, all the detaila make sense! Also, many congrats for the 100k (almost) and hopefuly you'll get there by new year!
Dude in lore there's a Grunt ranger with the Arbiter that's the size of a small brute. And he's the oldest ranger in his force. And he holds rank equal to elites around him.

You forgot to mention their general regenerative abilities. I know I'm late to this, but one of the other primary traits aside from general hardiness and strength that make them such tough creatures to put down, is that they have an active healing factor. Krogan still scar, but they heal what a might take a human months to be properly (though perhaps not fully) healthy again, in days or a few weeks. Such as a gunshot wound, bite, stab or cut of comparative caliber. In some outlying cases this regeneration can be practically Wolverine level during a blood raged state.
Ah Krogan...they are living tanks ready to destroy any threat. Also I just love when Grunt yells "I am Krogan!" At his enemies before charging at them...good times. Anywho awesome vid as always!
As for the quad joke. It was revealed in ME1 and it was pretty funny. Garrius has a loyalty mission where he wants to go after a crook that got away. It was a Salarian doctor who was growing cloned organs inside patients then harvesting them. Then Garrius tells Shepard about the organ black market. One of the hot items is Krogan testicles. Shepard: Wait. There's a market for Krogan testicles? Garrius: Krogan believe it increases fertility and with the genophage, that's a big deal. Can you believe they go for 50k each. That's 200 a set. Someones making a killing out there.

Wait... did the devs name the krogan planet tuchanka after the Russian mobile machine gun in ww1 because the Krogan are a bit like a machine gun/tank or is that just me over thinking it?

It's ironic they called the Siege character Tachanka considering he's one of the least-mobile characters and during the inter-war period the Tachanka was balance-shifting in its combination of firepower and mobility. That's probably giving them too much credit, bet it was just because both have machine guns.
Good video! You forgot to mention the Krogan have a Wolverine like healing ability as well. In the first game they actually healed while you fought them. I guess Bioware decided it wasn't balanced for the subsequent games. Tho Garus does mention in the second game that during his fight with the Blood Pack leader that he was regenerating as fast as he could stab him.
I remember somewhere in game it states that 'before gunpowder the number one cause of death of Krogans was 'eaten by predator'. After the invention of gunpowder, the number one cause of death was 'gunshot wound'." They survived a self inflicted nuclear winter and were starting to shrug off Bio-weapons.

Been waiting on this one for a bit. Again just like the Turian video, you brought alot of new info to the table. Its cool to finally know how there secondary nervous system works and that "bloodrage" has its roots in mental illness. One of my favorite things about this race is massive adversity has evolved this race to be damn near unkillable compared to the other sentient races in Mass Effect. Great Job and congrats on the growth of your channel.

One thing important imo to notice - pain doesn't have overwhelming effect on Krogans, unlike on us, humans. Meaning, you can cut their limbs off, yes, they will feel it, but it will only make them angry, not screaming. I mean, not in pain, it will make them screaming and you will have exactly one second before you die. If they are slow....
Never realized that’s what “grow a quad” or the mention of “having the quads” meant and just legit thought some of these guys were just telling me my legs are weak and it always confused me
I'm like 5 years late but in case you see this, in ME1 while talking to Garrus about a certain Docter Heart, you find out how much a quad is worth to get one attached to you (Because some male male krogans believe it increases fertility or virility... or something) one of my favourite let's players Welonz even started figuring out how many quads you can buy with money you get from missions hahaha
That was great man your really did the Krogan a solid 🙂 one thing I would like to bring up that you glossed over was that the Salarians only developed the genophage and the Turians deployed it on Tuchanka, they did this because the Krogan despite fighting all the council races simultaneously were still kicking the ever living shit out of everyone, they were even fighting dirty by doing things like strapping rockets to meteorites and aiming them at Turian colonies, if not for the genophage the Krogan would have ruled the universe and they still could 😏 as the player can actually develop a cure if they so desire, I know I do 😎 you should also do a video like this on the Vorcha, they are also a truly fascinating species in the Mass Effect universe.

There was something that I feel was glossed over a little bit with the Genophage. The Krogan don't just fail to get pregnant, like one could reasonably assume. No, the Krogan get pregnant each time, but most of their children are born (Hatched? The Codex uses both terms) dead. For every child born alive, there is a literal mountain of dead babies the parents had to go through. I feel like that detail would help explain why the Krogan have such a fatalistic attitude.
So they are essentially the pinnacle of evolution. Capable of smarts, full of genetic backup plans, highly adaptable, nigh unkillable, strong and can carve out a population about anywhere. Only drawback is their thirst for blood but that’s only been a bad thing some of the time for em

Literally the Krogan had the genophage designed to nearly sterilize them and not even a few generations later-given the Krogan's longevity their bodies were already nearly overcoming this biological weapon, and so a second one was made. Incredibly resilient

honestly, ive never had a major issue with the genophage, the krogan brought it upon themselves afterall, and i will be covering the vorcha later!

Literally the Krogan had the genophage designed to nearly sterilize them and not even a few generations later-given the Krogan's longevity their bodies were already nearly overcoming this biological weapon, and so a second one was made. Incredibly resilient
