Wish I was walking with you mate .Love malta. Best island in the world 👍👍
I've watched this 3 videos many times. Reminds me of when I was there in 2005.. some places don't change much Steve.. thanks for the memories mate..
I loved that walk enjoyed it so much !! and that guy in the market was awesome
Steve it's great hearing you speak Maltese. You should do some basics, help us get by when we're over!
I not very good at maltese, language not my stong points, but I did used make a word of the day !
Hi Steve nice walk 👍👍you know I'm partial to that part of the Island. We used to walk to Zejtun from Triq il Kavallerizza (where we lived) then to Triq il-Torri then up to Triq Iz-Zejtun in those days all where pretty much country lanes. To us back then Zejtun was a very big town compared to Marsaxlokk 👍👍😋😋cheers
Yes I must take some more time to explore that part of the island, think Zejtun will make an interesting lost in
The fruit you came across hanging from the sort of cactus trees are prickly pears. They are really tasty and come in light green, orange and dark red in colour when unpeeled. These are also made into liquor. The plant with the little white flowers you saw on the side of the road is a capers plant.Sqaq means alley. The large square hay bales that were being unloaded and delivered on the farm are imported cattle feed. The large round ones are local ones harvested on the spot but because of not being enough to meet the demand, some has to be imported. The slabs on top of the rubble walls are sort concrete channels through which water used to be delivered to irrigate the fields.Xrobb l-Ghagin is the name of the place .It means the boiling water extracted after cooking pasta. The fenced area in which are large stones is an abandoned megalithic excavation site.I hope this helps to explain better your walk.
Thanks for the comments and info,

@@antjeanne thank you so much 👍👏👏
That's wide place, take care there cuz ur alone, only car passing
Hey Jen, Malta is very safe
Hello. Is a car rental necessary in Malta or is public transportation sufficient?
I would much prefer the car, but many enjoy the bus, and the service covers the whole island cheap couple of euro for two hours and cheaper day and week tickets, as a tourist you can take more time, summer they get very busy in tourist areas
That is not 'cicri' (chick peas) but a squirting cucumber!!
Wow learn something every day ! Can you eat it ?
@@EnglishmaninMalta It is toxic. Plus it expels the seeds rather explosively, so watch your eyes.
The statue you were talking about of the singer with the Guitar is of the folk singer Bambinu. He is a relative on mine and when my Grand parents got married during the second world war Bambinu took them in his horse and cart from Qormi to the next village for their wedding photos (it had to be quick as it was between the bomb raids). Then brought them back to the house. That was their honey moon. ruclips.net/video/QBoFEjqfNtM/видео.html

The water after the boiled pasta, also becomes turbid. In fact, pasta water is called 'xrobb l-għaġin' ...
