I had been following Yandere Simulator since it was first made. However. I stepped away from it a couple of years ago after its production slowed drastically and a lot of controversial material came out. I think everybody liked the game because it was a new, rather unique concept that hadn't been made before. And everybody loved supporting indie games as well. Although the game had potential, Yandere Dev's perverted mind distorted the game into some sort of weird fantasy of his. I think that's why people keep trying to remake the game by either writing fanfiction, comics, or new games. They see a great untold story behind Yandere Simulator that Yandere Dev never told because he's a horrible story writer. Though I believe it's just best to let Yandere Simulator die. No new games or remakes. Let's not keep using the story of a groomer, for his victims sakes.

Nevermind the whole Yandere Dev Drama, the most scarring thing was early Oompa. Kinda never thought about him NOT having a beard and this absolutely fabulous hair.
I gave him some advice on level design and the idea of the two bladed sword when mapping...as in: you make the area smaller, using a simple load point to other maps, so it can have more detail...
The School map was....huge...no Half Life map that size would even run...even at the low level of detail it had...massive skybox where it was just wasting resources to render air...and light.
Apparently, I'm not smart enough about mapping to give Yandere Dev mapping advice, after years in tech support chats of Valve...learning the mapping programs before there were even RUclips guides to look up..no google either.
But, whatever, I still have an original copy from about 2014...never play it any more...lost the interest...🤔
There's something called culling. I haven't looked too much into it, and what I have looked at, I forget (sorry it's been a while).
But basically it only renders the elements on screen. It's how popular battle royale games have massive maps and you can still play them on a phone. This technique paired with some others (like using LOD's or even outright not loading things like foliage in until you are close to the ground) allows for big maps, without needing amazing equipment. Clearly Yandere did not hear about this fascinating development in game engines.
@Deja117 This is the same kind of tech where if you look at the player camera from in the studio you can see how everything becomes blank behind them, like there's a cone of vision. It's interesting to look at
At least I think that's what culling is
@@irecordwithaphone1856 I think in short, culling is "If you can't see it, it doesn't exist"
If you are in a long hallway and can't see what is around the corners at both ends of the hallway, why render those areas for things you can't see?
LoD is sorta similar, just "If you can't make out the details, why make the details?"
@@shibainu2528Like curtains on a stage.
@@irecordwithaphone1856 Basically yes. If you want to learn more Unreal Engine has some decent documentation on it. Honestly prefer them to Unity right now, and the Unity documentation can be confusing especially with how they explain frustum culling. There's many methods to optimise 3D environments, culling just scrapes the surface. :D

Concerned Ape made stardew is smooth time if I'n correct and has been updating it for ages and it's the most popular farming game ever and it's comical how much more popular it is than Harvest Moon.
I love it how oompaville says they don’t play undertale but their editor put undertale music in the video
thought i was the only one who noticed
23:30 That argument would hold a lot more water if YandereDev didn't have a known history of being a total creep.
You could literally change the premise to adults in an office building, give the yandere access to a car, heavy machinery, and so forth, and it would be millions of times better than this outcome. But the fact it was school aged girls was the first, very large red flag.
Or even just make a College deal so most of the themes can be reused but with legal ages
You could maybe play as a scary office lady like in that one weird anime with that teacher that _really_ wants to sleep with this other teacher or something.
Except with a lot more stabbing.
That actually seems like a pretty much objectively better idea when you realize it would actually mean the game would be less limited in terms of gameplay mechanics, atmosphere, & level design & the character designs & outfits would have more variety.
Or you know, people could stop making a big deal out of literally _nothing._ Teens aren't little children, they are segual (g -> x) beings, and YanDev did nothing wrong. Freakin' prudes...
@@specializedchemicals6669 No thanks, I'd rather not listen to prudish regards (g -> t).
Just so you know, Buju Mike did make a statement video saying he's never making videos on Yandere Sim ever again because of recent drama. He deleted it cause he didn't want that on his channel dragging down the mood or something.
The part where he’s raging honestly just sounds like the average gamer when they mess up 18:10
Now this is what we've been wanting. Yandere content.
this comment is a bigger update than what yandere dev have delivered in 10 years..
@@lokelaufeyson9931 at this point
i think its time we all forget about it and shut up man.
for what is happening i want you to make a better game i want to see a better game not some cheap unfunny comment.
@@Bragemaster nah, not really honestly never. Im not a code monkey.
I would be able to learn code and become a code monkey but i am busy handle my life, you know pay bills and take care of my life, family and dog..
I have no time to learn code stuff.
If you can pay my bills and give me food money i can try and learn coding, its only approx. 1100$ / month in total..
You can learn coding and do it if you have time, im sorry. Im busy.
I remember watching Mr. Ville’s yandere video lets-play when it first came out. Cool to see how far he’s come
Where Scott Cawthon took criticism to heart, and molded it into a mysterious, captivating, compelling, horrifying story, a series of games fans young and old, would enjoy. That would change indie horror as we knew it.. Yandere Dev ran in circles and seemed to do nothing his creation, and the feedback he’d received. He could’ve created an entertaining franchise that captivated millions, like Scott. There’s books, plushies, comics, a movie, several games, customs, songs, music videos, cartoons, and fan games based off FNAF. It even started the Mascot horror genre. Yet, one ran with his momentum, and the other slowly crawled to a finish line he’d never arrive at.
I wonder how miffed he would be if someone took the idea of his game and improved upon it to the point that the yandere part of the game is just one aspect.
the game will never be finished because yandere dev is too busy "studying" the characters
Killing, torture and stalking can be expected in a horror game. Sexualizing school girls is not. That is in fact wayyyyyy to far
No, it isn't.
@@Serjo777 So you're telling me you like sexualizing school girls? Or are at least okay with it
@@saw-blade4194 I'm very ok with it. It's natural and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.
@@Serjo777lmao rage bait
@@Serjo777Alright, freak.
It’s hilarious how there was a time when, to my memory, the biggest YandereDev controversy was his abusing of if-else statements.
Hes always been weird tbh. He said so many questionable things and he had even groomed someone before already, the thing is that only few ppl knew about it. I'm glad it all came to the surface though.
nah yandev has been notorious since before he even used the yandev name. his past alias was 'evaxephon' and he got caught doing the exact same stuff he's doing now on top of being generally creepy, arguing with everybody, and shilling his stream nonstop. it was actually a minor scandal when people found out the two were the same person since he was notorious enough to catch a ban from the 4chan /v/ board.
I always watched Kubzscouts play the game like a routine
He rlly wantes to be GTA, Hitman, GMOD and Persona at the same time
I would have never guessed that 2016 oompa looked like that, he's like a totally different person, that's wild.
He’s literally the world’s first lolcow developer.🐱
The Temple OS dude?
@@heyyo3725 oh yeah I forgot about him.😲🐱
@heyyo3725 that guy built his own fkn operating system, he's a legend
@@heyyo3725Terry Davis actually code well and is a legend. He was obviously consumed by his own illness but even then he's a genius. I'd not compare him with this guy.
Randy Pitchford and Phil Fish get runner up awards and I think they never reached true lolcow status.
Brianna Wu could qualify but I'm not sure I can call whatever that was a game that was "developed".
I told this to my friend and he was like "I mean..are we surprised? he literally made a game about a high school girl who stalks and kills and steals underwear"
I genuiniely started dying at the underdeveloped joke 😭
What a absolute stable individual, what a outstanding member of our society. developing a game all by himself for over 9 years, imagine if he had no social skills and was just a total creep that would be devastating to know.
4:05 bro aged 36 years in 9 years
One time I asked my 12yo cousin to explain yandere and I literally fell asleep.
LOL, I remember when i was like 12 or 13 I learned the lore of every creepypasta characters, and I used to watch musicallys of cosplays.
I even did roleplays. Like I'm pretty sure that's how I started dressing goth 😭
I still can’t believe that Yandere Dev looks like that. I always thought that face is AI generated.
I wonder if people forgot that a currency in this game was pictures of girls' underwear from underneath their uniform skirts. This is not surprising to me
Yeah as soon as I found out I was sure the dev is a creep
I think Muta said it best when he said, "Strangely, I woke up this morning and made the choice to, ya know, NOT harass minors." (Paraphrased)
This game used to be really interesting, the concept of an open world hitman game with anime themes was super cool.
Then it got creepy..
Then Yanderedev got really aggressive.
Then Yanderedev got super creepy :c
He didn't become that way he's always been like that you found out that just now
@0aktr yeah he's always been like that, but it was never information we knew of :/
