    Nice tips. Another tip that's been a lifesaver for me when programming in Visual Studio is adding XML comments to my classes / methods / variables. XML comments are displayed like tooltips you try to use that tagged item or when you hover your mouse over it. A quick way to do this in Visual Studio is by typing '/' 3 times one line above the item you'd like to XML tag. This is particularly useful when documenting how to use methods you've written because you can describe in detail what each parameter's purpose is.

    Wow. I've been programming in C# since it was first introduced in 2002 and thought I was the master of all shortcuts in the environment... I had no idea about the "double tab" trick with "for" and other statements. You just enhanced my coding speed by a substantial amount. Thanks bud!

    In general with C#, it seems like most people don't use regions. I've seen files that were hundreds and thousands of lines and no regions.

    • @HappyHitman
      @HappyHitman 7 лет назад +14

      Any code file with hundreds and thousands of lines isn't developed very well. That person needs to learn the proper use of OO.

    • @vilmiswow

      IconoclastXVII I remember when I started learning c# and learned about regions and thought that it's the most awesome thing :D :D

    • @AnimusBehemoth
      @AnimusBehemoth 7 лет назад +1

      For the most part, I agree. I think everyone should read Clean Code and apply it.
      However, there are some cases (especially in physics simulations, like a vehicle, for instance) in which breaking up the code to reduce the need for regions would actually make the code less readable, because you've spread the logic for what should be one component into many.
      Like all "rules" in programming, there are some exceptions, but in general, yes.

    • @touristtam
      @touristtam 6 лет назад

      AnimusBehemoth split your code in separate file and folders. C# has namespace, use it.
