I mean they should learn about the holocaust but i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't since in America we learn pretty much nothing about Asian countries in school. The swastika is both a native American symbol called whirling logs and I believe an old Buddhist symbol as well. You can see it on a lot of buildings in the backgrounds of historical fiction kdramas. So people in Asian countries might relate the symbol to the Buddhism meaning first.
