The absolute magical sizzle of Lennon and McCartney performing on stage and singing together. I don't think anything could ever top that. Most bands have one frontman. They had two equally towering talents as frontmen - both brilliant, both songwriters, both magnificent performers in their own right.

The Cars band also had two frontmen taking turns singing lead with rhythm guitarist Ric Ocasek & bassist Benjamin Orr. Ric was always the principal songwriter though, they’re a fantastic band too. Lots of people think/thought that Ric sang lead all the time, nope, the major-hottie-man Ben Orr shared that title and Ric was quoted as saying “he gave the “best” songs to Ben.” I love bands with two dual lead singers and LOVE the Beatles!

The version they do on Ed Sullivan rocks harder - little slower and meaner. They do the R-n-B middle 8 so tight the first time Macca cracks a smile and John beams like "we nailed that". Check it out. But I agree with you. Now, I wonder why they NEVER successfully sang I Feel Fine correctly without John and Paul-George I'm/She on top of each other - even on the record they mess it up, lol so funny. 🎸

The Beatles loved their rock n’ roll; Lennon and McCartney sharing vocals on one microphone are moments of utter joy; much thanks to the camera and sound people who recorded this using the technology they had at the time, they did their job and they did it well; the Beatles knocked this one out of the ballpark; so fortunate to have BeatleAlex share such a beautiful gift of Beatles treasure, thank you for this gem.

Pretty darned cool. Paul's voice was ragged in the 2nd number. I am still amazed at the guitar part John played for "I Feel Fine" (or first song). It's actually not that easy to play. Kind of wears out your hand. Loved seeing John forget some words. They were cranking out so much creativity I'm sure it was hard to keep track of all his lyrics. The Beatlemania demonstrated by the women is always wonderful to see and hear.

I've given up on getting that rif right. Sounds so simple, but, nope. John taking the first solo in Long Tall Sally was a surprise. I've never seen him do that. Too bad the camera wasn't on him.

      @@sergioleone3583:
The very first couple of frames of the song you can see his cord running from the guitar´s jack at the very end of the guitar up through his guitar strap down behind him, and at 02:37 to 02:46 you can see his cord flailing about, and it runs behind him to his right to a pile of cord, probably 15-20´ long, coiled up on the stage between him and his amp.

@@jaelge There's a part where the riff comes in right after George's solo where John has his back turned, and I'd REALLY love to see his right hand about there. When he turns around, it does sort of look like he's getting after the riff, but when I tried playing it years ago, I think I had tried finger picking instead of using a pick.
I had been thinking of a Top of the Pops (I think it was?) where George's "solo" on a song was clearly recorded previously, though the vocals were live.

They were all on their game that day, for sure. That drum embellishment at the end of Ticket To Ride, and JOhn taking the first solo in Long Tall Sally was good stuff. I'm really disappointed that John´s volume wasnt very high and the cameraman stayed on George and I didn't get to see it.

The Beatles that changed the sound of music 🎵 because when they appeared on the music scene music wouldn’t be the same. The 60’s didn’t actually start until the Beatles appeared on the music scene. They actually defined the 60’s as soon as they would play their music because their music 🎶 was considered out of this time. Their concerts were spectacular and always sold out and the 1st Rock group to play in stadiums and the 1st group to be known as a Super group. Not only were they controversial but were the envy of other entertainers. The Beatles were a group that was meant to be and there won’t be a group like them. This music 🎼 clip is actually wonderful and more will be found and pulled out of the vaults to be shared with others. Thanks for sharing this with us.
