◼️ INTERESTING FACT ABOUT THE BAND -
Just before joining Linkin Park, Chester Bennington had almost decided to quit music due to failures and frustration. Even after joining the band, Bennington was homeless and used to live out of a car. In 1996, Chester Bennington married Samantha Olit and the two stayed in Phoenix. Chester worked as an assistant at a digital-services firm and also pursued music through his band “Grey Daze.” However, things did not work out and he left the band in 1998. Frustration built up as he struggled to find another band, and he was on the verge of quitting music altogether. His wife supported him and stopped him from quitting. A year after this incident, Chester Bennington received a call from Jeff Blue, the Vice President of A&R at Zomba Music in Los Angeles, offering him to audition with “Xero.” After his successful entry in the band, Chester still struggled to make ends meet. When he came to L.A., he was homeless, slept on couches, borrowed from friends or relatives, and even secretly slept in his car.

Let's forget this album ever came out, please.
Why? The album's pretty impressive really. It's just not a rock album.
I really tried to like it. I liked every other album. If I hadn't known it was LP, I wouldn't have listened to it multiple times from start to finish. I don't think this is about genre. I love After Laughter by Paramore from the same year.
The biggest gripe I had with OML was the lack of variety. Chester's screaming is absent and Mike's raps all but, so throughout the album the basic sounds are the same. It can get a little boring, but not to the extent that every song sounds the same.
Beyond that, OML is a very good album. The songs all sound awesome individually (except for Halfway Right, which is kinda meh) and the writing is some of the best they've done (except for Halfway Right, which is kinda meh).

Linkin Park was hugely responsible for getting me through some of the toughest periods of my teenage years, too. Hybrid Theory and Meteora were the soundtracks to those years, and Chester’s death affected me in a way I didn’t think a “celebrity’s” death could - thanks for this tribute - you’ve got an awesome channel, my friend.

I've never heard the melody and chords in some of these songs so clearly. I almost didn't recognize Don't Stay for a second there.
Also I'm a guitar player, recently bought my first seven string. For some reason I really want a Uke now though.
Its mad when you strip these songs down what you can find in them. Oh nice, i played guitar for 10 years before picking up the uke so it deffo gave me a edge haha
