Nice review 👍. I own a M135i F40 and I have seen this new M135 F70 in the flesh. It looks good and it is probably one of the best daily you can buy at BMW. I like my F40 and I think buyers of this new F70 will be very happy 👍

I to have the f40 135i and I love it , this new model though does look even better and I think in 12 months time I will be tempted however I’m worried about how much money I’m going to lose when I sell mine, this new model will surely knock the value of the outgoing model down even further

Hi, thanks for the great video. Loving the new version. Feel the same as you do about the car. Need your advice, as they recently added an additional option of a ‘M dynamic Pack’ which includes a ‘dynamic chassis set up’ which has little to no info on. And includes even larger M sport brakes. I wanted your opinion if this would be something worth considering given that u have just driven it with the standard set up b It is a pricey option though as are all the addition options. Wondered if you recommend it or not for a daily driver. Will it make the car more uncomfortable or is there are any benefits to the car as a non-track car? Thank again.
Thank you for your reply. Yes totally agree. Its difficult to know. But super happy you reviewed this version and found it good. I would be happy with it regardless now. 👍🏼
The F40 is a lovely looking car. Subjective looks I guess but every where I look the comments about this new F70 all seem to be the same saying it doesn’t look good. Wouldn’t be so bad if it had 350bhp, least that would give it something over its rivals.
I’m not really a fan of the quad exhaust pipes (much prefer the dual tail pipes), and I agree with others saying it looks a touch too high (might be just on camera though), but I am curious as to why the gearbox has changed from the previous 8 speed, to a 7 speed in this new version? Thanks.
It looks like someone stepped on my 2024 X2 and squashed it down. In fact, from the mechanical description it appears to be the same car under the skin. The interior however looks cheaper, for example,it doesn’t have the nice aluminum door pulls. I wouldn’t mind having the lower ground clearance though. The X2 has about 20cm, I would guess for owners who want to take their SUV into the rough, and you can feel the higher center of gravity when pushing it on winding roads.
And its there where it all falls apart, at the new gearbox, after having a press car for a few days, that gearbox i found jerky, too highly strung in sports, torque steer much worse, and to top it off 50nm less which is felt in the midrange for overtaking, such a missed opportunity to add a small 48v system and have the power and torque at a level where it actually feels like the ultimate driving machine, also should have introduced a flat bottom wheel like on the 2025 M240, along with lowering it a tad sits far too high, looks like a bloody crossover.
@@FeN1xDD have driven the M135, along with the X1M35 also., your better off with the F40, if you have the opportunity I'd suggest drive one and see for yourself what you think.
Tactile air con buttons moved to the touchscreen... did BMW customers ask for that? I know it's not exactly high on my wishlist. Less buttons, less horsepower... pity there aren't less doors.
Undoubtfully this car has sufficient vigour on the road for your average user's spirited driving, and the B48 xDrive combination found in this car does make sense, but this is still outclassed by any BMW with the N55/B58 RWD platform which is cheaper to obtain, has incomparably more character, is far more potent performance-wise, and for those who care is far more exclusive as you are not sharing the drivetrain with every average Joe's 120i, 220i, 320i etc. This car seems like more of the same for existing F40 128ti/M135i owners, and a downgrade that just doesn't make sense for anybody looking to upgrade from an F20/F22. Looks are subjective, but the menacing road presence people love BMW's for is gone with this one.
Less car for more money!
To think a m140i with a proper b58 was $20-30k AUD cheaper 🥲
