Awesome video work. Now that the motors are run in, what was top speed? Nice hull design and I luv my Merc's. I have two boats both with Merc's. They run well in the cold (Melb) and run well in the tropics (FNQ).
Thanks for the vid. Question about 'Sky hook' anchoring button, but not sure of the technical language to use so I'll just try this. Out fishing in potentially dodgy situation with tide change & plausible current direction. Does the Sky Hook cope, to a point, with a "strong current" and/or does Mercury have recommendation for this situation? Cheers
Great video on the operation of the 600hp by Mercury, I especially liked when you started the engine without hooking up the water line first. Thought you couldn't run those engines without a water source?. So now you have 2 x 600hp on your new 2 million dollar Yacht WOW. That I know I'll never be able to buy in my lifetime.
Hi John! Starting engines dry is bad for the impellers. We take every precaution possible and pre-lubricates these impellers for filming purposes. Cheers 🔥
Yeah but as a mercury technician we a dropping the super chargers and we know why. But those v12 are some beautiful large engines and even now the 350 are v10s. But if something was to happen we would have to pull your boat out and work on your engine don't care what plugs it has or if it says a 1000 hour service. That's if you make it that far but if something wrong we have a pull your boat out.
@@dive2deepocean115 As a certified Yamaha Tech Im with u on this. Beautiful looking motor. But l just looked up schematics of impellor. Its mounted very high(looks to be under sandwich plate?). It looks to be normal rubber impellor? Not sure how Merc can say, no need to change until 1000hrs (average 100hr a yr... thats 10yrs?). Dont think it would last half that and not perish? If I could afford one at $77K, and needed 2, I’d buy 3, one spare and the bad motor gets air expressed to 1 Mercury Drive, Wi.. They should know exactly what to do and will bring it back and put it in the spare parts bin, a 150,000 ft sqr warehouse in Boca.
Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the automotive world, but 600hp out of a 7.6L V-12 doesn’t sound like much in the grand scheme of things. I get that Mercury probably prioritizes torque and long term reliability over raw HP considering marine application, but that much displacement should be pushing north of 700hp in today’s day and age. Perhaps they underrate them, or have another “high output” version in the works that really unlocks what that engine can do? Imagine a supercharged version…
The difference is the loading, in a marine application the load is constant vs intermittent loading in the automotive world. Try to imagine a top fuel dragster engine running for hours on end!
What happens when’s there is a giant solar burst that emits every known radio and communications frequency and a few we don’t ever know, at a power slightly less than that required to kill human cells but capable of creating disturbances in anything that depends on the transfer of electrons to do something important, like steer the boat? Answer? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? I think with all this technology things are very susceptible to electromagnetic irradiation. I’m not sure if the boat and motor designers took the time to consider the “what happens if?” in the same manner that the designers of the manned moon rover did. Those long runs of un shielded wiring looms are great antennas. I guess when your boat cost makes a significant dent in a 7 figure, positive, whole number, you have the ability to prioritize risk. I think I would.
Those engines are too nice to stick in salt water. What beautiful pieces of engineering.
Great video; reminds me of something my Dad used to say, "All it takes is money"
Nice boat and engine combo. I can't wait until I one day can own a poster of it.
Big job mounting for 100% fit and security !

How big are the fuel tanks ?
Roger Hill is such a good yacht designer..
Thank you! They certainly are 😍
Is it true, there's no recording of how the engines sound in this whole video? I tried to find it but failed.
What marine location is that? The house at the background are nice.

Not that it really matters, but:
According to the Mercury site, the Verado 600 is a 7,6 l V12. Have they downsized the 600 after only a year?
Hi there! The Mercury 600hp engines are 7.6L 🔥If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
What about to change spark plugs? Does it stay in the water or come out?
Thanks for your question! The spark plugs are changed during the 1000 hour service and that'll need to be done by a technician 😊
Don't think spark plugs last that long in a mercury. Especially if you have foul plugs and stuff

Amazing boat, something you'd see on Wavy Boats in Florida. Mercury certainly lead the way in innovative technology. Great viewing.
They would have 5 of these in Florida to go fishing,

70k per engine @ what 0.5 MPG? Sounds about right, $... it's a crazy thing. Beautiful boat!
That's the US dollar price figure. More like $110,000 Aus dollars
Beautiful boat and engines!
The Hull seems to have more meat up front than many euro styles today. Gotta help with the wet ride some suffer from.
We sell them at my work in the UK we've got four of them at the moment in workshop
Great video and walkthrough. Is quick steer compatible if you go with the v8 300HP Verados?

Wow, great work 🤘🏻

130 liters/hr? Is it pissing out fuel
Are boats with bows like that good in rough seas? I've seen boats like the Von Dutch design stuff their bows on a few occasions. Stuffed badly!!!
Was that in Florida by any chance? Not many there know what trim and speed control is.
all that beautiful design and care and then they go and call it TANK
At 1000 hours the lower gear unit will not have to be removed, it can be removed on the STBD side of the motor by removing two bolts
what is the boat brand?
Noosa Marine with build materials from ATL Composites.

$77,000
Man those things have to be heavy only 600 horse out of a V12 you need to put some turbos on those puppies
At that displacement, Mercury could mount a blower on it and make more than 1000hp easily.
Brisbone Marine....!!!!!!!!!!!?

Nothing they are the same rubber impeller in the lower unit
One engine here in europe is AU$ 170210,-
I wonder if Mercury sent a thank you card to Volvo for killing the 7 Marine so they could have this segment of the market to themselves
You'd better have a certified membership in the WEF or they will give you hell for this carbon footprint being just a common millionaire.
