I got lasik done in vietnam at the start of this year, it went fantastic, in Vietnam the price is around half of what it is in Australia and the technology is the exact same. I have also seen a lot of the horror stories with lasik but what I noticed in my research is that most around 80-90% of people who had bad/terrible experiences from lasik were because they chose to skimp out and go for a really sketchy and cheaper lasik provider. Despite doing mine in vietnam it was a top quality institution with top of the line technology matching first world countries and the procedure wasn't sketchy and very proffesional. Typically before even going into the surgery horror stories with lasik describe very sketchy situations such as signing a paper right before surgery, unprofesionnal medical staff/practices, etc. Just take your time and really save up so you can afford top quality Lasik as it has been the best decision I have made. Ik this reads like an ad but I hope any of this info helps
