Oh! Es un pajaro "verderón" aqui asi los llamamos, yo adopté a uno que se cayó del nido por culpa de una tormenta..lo crié y ahora ya en libertad, vuelve cada dia un ratito conmigo 😊...se llama " bowie"
Thank you for sharing how you use watercolour pencils. I have a tin of Caran D'Ache and a tin of Derwent Inktense - both bought for me years ago and I have hardly used them. I generally use watercolour and gouache paints and I never thought of combining them with the pencils. The Greenfinch is lovely, you've caught it's heavy-browed expression and the plumage is super sharp. I only came across your channel today, subscribed and will catch up on the rest of your bird project - it's a great idea.
I love watercolor pencils. I own the full sets of both the museum aquarelle and the supracolor...as well as the albrecht durers and derwents.. and inktense lol. The supracolor are very similar to the albrecht durer, they do have some lovely beige/cool browns and some unique earthy greens that are worth looking at, also a few nice pastel shades. The biggest difference between the two in my experience is the supracolors don't move around as much when wet, and they have a more obvious color shift from dry to wet. The museums are lovely, thick cores, come in a gorgeous velvet lined box.. but not remotely worth their price tag IMO.. side by side with the others they are just another artist quality watercolor pencil. If you see a color you like by all means pick it up but I wish I hadn't sprung for the full set. It's only 72 and I'm always wishing for more colors when I use that set, and it was so expensive. I expected a lot more and really wasn't impressed enough to justify the cost. All of them, aside from the intense, work well wet and dry. The albrechts are my first choice... the best value for money, offer a big range of 120 colors with nice transitional color families and plenty of natural tones, and are the easiest for me to get open stock here in the US.
Wow thank you for the really in-depth rundown I appreciate the time it must have taken! I’m very jealous of your collection it sounds amazing! I’m glad you mentioned the two Caran d'Ache brands because I have been wondering if it would be worth investing in them for a long time. I almost bought a big set of museum aquarelle last year but I wasn’t suer if it was worth the cost. I’m in the UK so the Derwent pencils are usually good value for me but I find they have rubbish lightfastness. This is why I have been branching out in to other brands. I haven’t considered the supracolor up until now but I think I am going to have a look at their colour range. It can be hard to fined nice natural colours so think you so much for the tips! 😊✨
