I wanted to cover a few more things about the Flint water. When the city changed it from an aqueduct I believe to the river people saw instant problems. A few months later. And General motors. The car company told the city that it needed the old water system because the water was corroding their machine parts and that was only after a few months. People started complaining. Funny smells coming from the water. Funny tastes and their videos on RUclips where you can search Flint water sink fire... And you can see videos of people turning on their faucets and then lighting a match and blue flames igniting from the water as it came through the pipe. Drinking the water or bathing in the water. Started giving people cancer and people started dying and yet the city, the state, were fighting amongst themselves blaming everyone else. So as long as they blamed someone else, they didn't feel responsible for fixing the problem. So they just kept pointing the finger at each other and allowing everything to continue and groups of people started calling on investigations and started finding all these problems and yet the state of Michigan was saying there was no problem. So they had a meeting with the environmental agency of the state and they brought a ton of bottled water that they got from their taps and it was dark brown and look like gasoline... And they kept telling the people. If there's no problem then just drink it. This came right out of our tap and they had filmed themselves taking it out of their tap and then putting plastic over the bottle lid and signing it so you could see that they have not tainted the water and the government agencies wanted nothing to do with it. Finally, it came down to people starting to get prosecuted before they said okay. Yeah we'll fix it. It was around a decade. I want to say of hearing about it and it was so bad that they were buying bottles of water from all over the country and shipping it in and telling the people of Flint drink this. Cook with this and bathe with this because you couldn't use any of your own water. Think of all the corrosion in your pipes. And in all the pipes throughout the homes and the City. It was going to be a monumental amount of money to fix all because they wanted to save money and went with river water which was destroyed by waste runoff instead of continuing to use the freshwater aquifer or spring that they were using. That is not 100% accurate. I'm doing the best to remember things from back then and also a couple movies that I remember watching
@@krisstanton5736Man that was horrible😢, why don't you guys just make your own well if you can, I mean if the situation is like that.. Here in Indonesia, the government is absolute joke, so people just figuring out something by themselves tho.. Fortunately, here we have tropical climate, so we just don't care about winter and summer cause It just no big different, especially on the islands that pass by the equator, they just rain all the time so we can actually use rain water that we capture for everything, cause in Kalimantan/Borneo there still not many factory's yet so the rain actually drinkable, but java and other islands in the south is too not tropical but more like almost tropical combined with savanna and deserts of volcanos, rainforests and volcanoes are really spread all over the place in Indonesia too, so the land will catch a lot of water during the Monsoon and will be safe for years to come.. but we just got so much earthquake and volcanic eruption here, so pretty high consequences too..
@@Zantigableiaust are you referring to the Flint water situation? I'm not exactly sure if that's what you're talking about, but I remember bringing it up during that video. The reason why people in Flint couldn't is because they were living in a big city and so the city maintained their sewer and water. I honestly don't know the logistics of if you can have a well in your property if you live in a city. It would also depend on if there's even a water source that you could tap into. I'm not exactly sure because I've never been to Flint
@@krisstanton5736 Yes brother, so it's not common to have your own like personal or a village or a city well that distributed all water to the residents' homes pay fees to use and maintenance it..? Thit system just happens to emerge here on the country side of Indonesia from people that just actually fed up to the government because the Indonesia government is so stewpid, they delayed building a hospital in my my remote town for about 20 years just to build a racing circuit in mandalika that is used only twice a year, but it just little bit better than being genocide by Japan and Dutch in the colonial era.. so is there any latest news coming from Flint regarding this problem? I mean, are people in Flint still using bottled water to do shower and anything like watering a plant or what had happened?
