The common theme is California is not high against most states when it comes to divorce rates. But two of the big reasons is that people in California get married later than in most other states and it also has the 3rd highest cost of divorce in the country.

It’s the others cities like Austin for example that never expanded and never adapted that don’t like the expansion and now they’re feeling the growing pains. This is what happens when the people that actually provide services and do the actual work can no longer afford to live in a state where wages are low and housing, fuel and food are too high.
People are so quick to chalk this up to politicians. The higher cost of labor is due to the cost of housing cascading into everything else. People won’t go after lower wage jobs because they need to keep the roof up so employers raise wages to get people to walk through the door. I have to charge more as an employer because the only way I could get someone is by paying more. If the cost of any necessity is affected adversely by a lot people make decisions where to work. Housing is astronomical and handouts are crazy because the people who live in this state lack the political motivation to build any new housing and drives the existing stock up.
You know, they have the opportunity to pay for people to leave the state if they can’t find a job that way making up some space rather than supporting them on life-support draining the unemployment fund, but then again, California isn’t too smart for that!🙈

I worked for EDD for 25 years. Michael Bernick nearly ruined EDD, but the father and son team of Patrick Henning (Sr then Jr) accomplished the mission. California has never had an unemployment rate lower than 12% during the entire 39 years I've lived in this state, it just never gets reported with accuracy because the DOL figures are based on claims and not bodies. This story is nonsense.
I hope the people of California were realize that government is primarily responsible for such a bad economy. And further realize that only free markets and capitalism is the remedy.
