I used to do wacom, and over the 15 years(!) I used them, I had software and driver issues, across multiple devices, multiple computers. School computers, home computers, work computers. I got a $30 Huion as a cheap travel tablet. I started using Huion exclusively. It just worked!!! Sure, the UI of the software is weird, but it does what you want it to, without it suddenly breaking one day. The number one creativity killer for me with wacom was opening photoshop, having pressure sensitivity stop working for the 30th time in the year, and spending 2 hours trying to get it back. Huion, at most, I had to restart my computer to regain it. In my book, I'm paying less for more art time.
And oldie but a goodie, the Wacom Grip Pen is still my favorite. I love the feel and weight of the pen and overall amazing drawing feel/line quality. I even prefer the lower pen pressure sensitivity, I feel like the lines are more stable.

Don’t forget! The kind of xppen stylus you had in your hand was one of the newer ones. It’s the x3 stylus pro 16k pressure levels! There’s no way it’s gonna give you line wobble in my opinion. So I don’t think you should compare with Huion 8k pressure levels. Then again just my opinion 🤗

Hi. Would you know what pen/stylus can draw accurately on a Doogee T30 Ultra. It works with a stylus with a battery but not the others. I want to start as a hobby but funds are limited so I bought the Doogee Thank you Your videos are fantastic. Big fan
I'd be really happy if there were a more in-depth review of the styli, their build and the technology they use. Especially those on tablets. Like how exactly does the tip feel, how does it behave mechanically, what's the pressure and tilt performance. A thing I noticed when trying the apple pencil and s pen (on the s9 fe) side-by side in a store was the following: When using the s pen, the display deactivates when you draw on it, meaning there is no thouch input whatsoever until you lift it far enough for the hovering cursor to disappear. That's sort of weird. Another thing i noticed in the store, but I don't think is normal, is that the tip of the s9's s pen wobbled an awful lot, which makes it bind up against the pens housing and makes it impossible to use at anything but an almost vertical angle. The store rep claimed the pen works like normal, but I honestly can't imagine it being this terrible and think their display unit might be broken (especially since the s10 doesn't have that issue. If it were truly that terrible across the board, it would be straight up unbuyable for me). It still makes me a tiny bit worried about the s pen maybe breaking quickly, because samsung don't seem to sell any nibs themselves (at least not to consumers). However, simply because of how the pen is constructed, you can't use the s pen at nearly as shallow an angle as the apple pencil, because the s pen has a short nib that just stops touching the screen after a certain angle. I still think it's hard for the 100+ buck apple pencil to beat the s pen being included for free. (I personally also can't stand iOS, even though i use a mac, but that's a matter of preference)
Hey Brad! Love your videos. Was wondering what you do with all your tablets and other materials that are old or have duplicates of. Do you resell them or ever give them away?
I'm using a Lamy Safary EMR pen, it can draw quite good but it's main purpose is to write, the ergonomic is great and has the button for quick actions. But coming from the Lamy brand, that stylus cost quite a lot.
I don't know if its still sold but I lost my samsung stylus a few years ago and got a yellow and black stripped one and I love it. Its meant to look like a pencil and is similar to one on screen that was annoyingly not talked about. Noria digital jumbo are the only words I can make out on it anymore. It has a triangle body and a red eraser. I sincerely think the yellow body is what has kept me from losing it yet. Its so ugly but so easy to spot. I use mine for everyday but I don't have a set place to work so thats important to me. If they could put sime sort of airtag tech into those expensive styluses I might buy one but as is I'd probably lose it
I am an illustrator and love drawing on my iPad… but I hate the Apple Pencil. Just could not get along with it. I exclusively use a Logitech Crayon and actually don’t miss the pressure sensitivity. I’m disabled and have great difficulty controlling how hard my hand is pressing/holding pens, so having the Crayon maintain a certain line thickness no matter what my hand is doing is brilliant for me. I have gotten used to just changing the line thickness in Procreate. The Crayon is also a lot more comfortable for me to hold - I guess since it was designed for kids originally 😅
Even within the Wacom ecosystem there are many pens, or at least there used to be - I'm not sure about the compatability with more recent devices. But the older Art Pen has barrel roll just like the latest Apple Pencil, and if you use brushes that support it in Photoshop it can get amazing results. (Photoshop used to have a whole lot more fun brush engine options before, but they are probably considered legacy now)
That's what I'm using right now. The Wacom One pen with the plastic/felt pen nibs + paperlike screen protector. The shortcuts work and drawing feels way nicer.
Samsung 360 laptops are great, but they are so insanely expensive - Even used. It's probably a lot of work, but if you could maybe go a bit out of your way to find Windows alternatives I would love that. Kind of what you did with alternatives to Wacom. Maybe Lenovo is a place to start? I believe they use a version of Wacom's active tech, but the old ones had a lot of wobble. Is that still the case?
I personally like the Apple Pencils and Wacom. I started out on Huion and then went Wacom and just never went back. I’ve tried the competition but I always come back to Wacom just like for tablets I always come back to Apple iPad. I still have issues with Wacom. Driver support in Windows is kind of buggy. Where the pen won’t work after waking up the PC or if the monitor went to sleep and you need to restart the Drivers. But despite that it works most of the time and nothing else works quite as good. And when it’s your job not your hobby. It just works is a thing you can’t beat. It’s why even though nVIdia is king in ray tracing I’m considering moving to Mac because Windows 11 has become a buggy mess where updates can brick your computer. I want to spend time creating not trying to figure out work around because the tools aren’t working the way I want it to.

wow, Brad has a lot of styluses, haha. i imagine that he has so many lying around everywhere, he can use them in a pinch for other tasks. Brad is making noodles but can't find chopsticks? no problem; Brad picks up two nearby styluses hanging around! Brad needs to fish out his wedding ring that he dropped accidentally into the crevices between his kitchen fridge and his oven? ah, the stylus that happens to be on top of his microwave will do the trick! ;)
Question what about the wacom bamboo ink plus pen ?does anyone know if it preform's better than the window pens? Also does anyone know if they are compatible with like the new surface pro 11? Any information would be extremely helpful.
The shape of the S-Pen was taking a toll on my hand because it is too thin, and I was always gripping onto it hard. So I decided to find a better alternative, and I purchased the Wacom One 13 stylus (the one that's half white half black), and I consider it to have a way better built. In terms of drawing, it feels exactly the same, if not better, and it is a bit easier to switch between brush and eraser. It works out of the box and doesn't require charging. However, it's not compatible with samsung's smart commands (swipe motions, quick menu, etc). I know lamy also has a pretty good stylus, but I found the Wacom One 13 at half the price.
@@lunaticaliana3479 Thank you for the recommendation! I had my eyes on that one, but I wasn't sure if it's compatible, since I already tried Staedler's Noris mini, but it didn't work with my tablet at all, even though it's supposed to be compatible with EMR technology (although maybe it's just this model, anyway it was even smaller than expected so I'm fine without it 😅)
@dwimmered No problem, I hope it helped!! I had my reservations regarding Staedtler's styluses, especially because of the very thin tip. Though, it could be a factory issue with the stylus. Or could it be that it's only compatible with Apple (there are some styluses like that) I wouldn't be too surprised if they implemented such a thing, but I doubt that Samsung would gatekeep EMR on the s9 plus (the highest model they have, too) in favor of the S-Pen. Especially when using a wacom product from the same company that allowed Samsung to have this kind of tech in their tablets. I own an s6 Lite, and so far, wacom One 13 works without any issues. So I hope it will work for you too. Some people have tried the lamy one as well with samsung tablets, but I can't give any helpful feedback on that one.
@@lunaticaliana3479 Yeah, it's what I thought too, which is why I was surprised the stylus wouldn't work on s9+, although it wasn't on the list of compatible devices at the time. I just checked and it seems they finally updated the documents tho. Lamy also seems worth a try, at least they guarantee the compatibility and the fact that they offer two different types of nib replacements depending on the surface of the device, which is neat! Thank you again for help! I'll give it some more thought and see which one I'd like to try, I really hope it'll work this time and I was just unlucky before x)

apple pencil hover is only with ipads with the m2 processor or over which sucks, it’s the only reason i got the most recent ipad air rather than older models. though the accuracy with the apple pencil is near perfect. personally i like the round tip, but that’s just a personal preference. i just like the premium feel and its weight. i can understand why some won’t like the apple pencil though.

Hmm I expected a bit more info about the pens. This was a bit underwhelming. I also didn't see the S-Pen Pro S-Pen Creator edition. The second having quality issues due to it's nib that easily breaks and even worse nib remover. I'd love to hear from a pro if those things are correct. Also you say everything except from Samsung is not very good on Android, but I do see your artstyle is really cool but your feeling for these styluses can differ due to artist having different styles. What about if you draw with lot of cross hatching? Realistic, what if u only use airbrushes or water brushes? What would make these pens not so good? I'd love to see examples. Zooming in and showing the wobble.. And how different pens draw the same line with different brush types. This video was a bit vague and I had to take your word for it more than that you actually showed what's good or bad about any pen.
M-Pencil 3rd Gen n the Matepad 2024 paper matte.....outclasses everything else on the market. The fact you didnt review the m-pencil suggests you haven't really delivered a great video. Thats not a crit your work is normally top notch, but really the m-pencil 3rd gen with 10k pressure on the Matepad 12.2 2024, makes Apple, Samsung and everything else feel old and dated. Honestly theres no comparison, its the hand down best on the market at the moment. Apple and Samsung will have their work cut out bringing out better. It would seem to me you havent tried it in which case you should before doing your next review, both the tablet and the pen are sheer beauty. Its the first tablet ever I would say outclasses iPad by a country mile. And anything else, Huawei really delivered a peach with it. And FYI, its better than Wacom, better than dedicated drawing screens, better than everything Its quite simply a total blinder of a drawing experience. Pressure, tracking, accuracy, everything and the feel of it is just sublime. Ive never felt drawing like it on a digital screen before, its beautiful. The fact they put GoPaint free on it suggests they were really aiming for the art market and that would explain the sheer finesse of the experience.
Brad, I don't know if you have a say in the AI-generated audio translation on your videos, but if so, please disable it. It's awful. Apart from that, nice vid as always!
i am the #1 registered Apple Hater but there is simply no other pen that has a better mechanism for tilting and drawing on its side. its the only pen i can hold with the overhand grip! the ipad and pencil is the only apple device i own because its just that good. having the actual physical side of the stylus present for tilting is SO important.
This dubbing of AI into Brazilian Portuguese is awful, it confuses a lot of things, the original language is much better to understand even if I'm not a speaker of the language

We want a video about Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2
Can you make a Tier list of Brands of Digital Tablets to see which are the best for Digital Artists...? You can use TierMaker for the next video for reference
can you make a video about handwriting and note taking for windows other than onenote.
because I can't find any app that actually match the feeling of android and ipad apps
Hi. Would you know what pen/stylus can draw accurately on a Doogee T30 Ultra. It works with a stylus with a battery but not the others. I want to start as a hobby but funds are limited so I bought the Doogee
Thank you
Your videos are fantastic. Big fan
The good stylii for android @5:31 are basically EMR stylii. While WACOM basically invented EMR tech, OEM EMR pen / tablets works just fine as well.
I'd be really happy if there were a more in-depth review of the styli, their build and the technology they use. Especially those on tablets. Like how exactly does the tip feel, how does it behave mechanically, what's the pressure and tilt performance.
A thing I noticed when trying the apple pencil and s pen (on the s9 fe) side-by side in a store was the following:
When using the s pen, the display deactivates when you draw on it, meaning there is no thouch input whatsoever until you lift it far enough for the hovering cursor to disappear.
If they could put sime sort of airtag tech into those expensive styluses I might buy one but as is I'd probably lose it
I use a wacom one pen for my SAMSUNG Tab S9, it's much more sensitive to light strokes than the Samsung pen. Highly recommend it!
(Photoshop used to have a whole lot more fun brush engine options before, but they are probably considered legacy now)
I use the wacom one pen on galaxy tablets since the spen is using its technology. That with a matte protector is great!
What your experience using Wacom One Pen on Samsung tablet, do the shortcuts work too?
That's what I'm using right now. The Wacom One pen with the plastic/felt pen nibs + paperlike screen protector. The shortcuts work and drawing feels way nicer.
Damn should've include the Huawei M-Pencil 3 in there. Is better than the Spens.
For me it's Wacom pro pen line up and apple pencil
Super helpful thanks ❤⚡️👍
Do all Wacom EMR pens work the same? Do you have a favorite? I have the Wacom One pen, but the Staedtler Jumbo and Lamy look nice too
Samsung 360 laptops are great, but they are so insanely expensive - Even used.
What are your thoughts on the Renaisser pen? Have you used it?
the huawei m pencil 3rd gen is pretty good too!
What about EMR pens for android?
Brad M4 mac mini looks so interesting 🤔 are you going to make a video on it ?
It does look cool, but nope, no plans right now.
Ok Sensei @@thebradcolbow
were;s teh wacom one pen for android aka samsung and norris digital pens work great with samsung i see one there but doesn't seem like you mention it or i missed it somehow
yep, pretty weird they are not mentioned. The Wacom One pen + paperlike screen protector on samsung tab is super nice for drawing.
I wish EMR was more common on laptops, I'd chuck my ipad out in a hearbeat if my dell used it instead of AES
what about pens for lenovo laptops?
Does redmi pad pro good drawing tablet?
I like your videos but you forgot a lot of great (EMR) Pens in the Android Stylus section! No review on Samsung creative pen, Lamy, Dr. Grip and Wacom one but mentioning USB Apple pencil? Lamy should be great for inkers too. I am interested in your opinion on these Android Stylus pens!
apple pencil and wacom pens ♥
Staedtler Noris Digital all my life for me thanks.
I had that one on my desk but forgot to hold it up in this video. I missed my opportunity 😂
wow, Brad has a lot of styluses, haha. i imagine that he has so many lying around everywhere, he can use them in a pinch for other tasks.
3:54 face button? LMAO
anyways good video
for me the professional wacom ones. idk why they add erasers lol it sucks. and i kinda enjoy the ipad pens.
I really hate the apple pencil! It’s too slippery for me…. And no I hate screen protectors
Does anyone have any suggestions for what would be a good drawing pen compatible replacement for galaxy tab s9plus?
Or could it be that it's only compatible with Apple (there are some styluses like that)
I wouldn't be too surprised if they implemented such a thing, but I doubt that Samsung would gatekeep EMR on the s9 plus (the highest model they have, too) in favor of the S-Pen.
@@lunaticaliana3479 I thought the same, that's why I was so surprised the pen didn't work with my tablet, but I might have really just been unlucky.
The lamy one looks worth a try as well. I'll give it some thought before I decide and hopefully it goes well. Thank you again for taking the time to offer me your insight!
Why you always ignore the S-Pen Creator Edition?
Mainly because the one I tested broke while I was reviewing 😂
But also it's the same as all the other s-pens just a different shape.
Brad, hoenstly I really appreciate you translate the videos so more folks can understand! but honestly the AI voice feels kinda souless compared to your actual voice (at least that's how I feel it as a Spanish speaker) also, the AI translates some terms wrong (it translates Stylus as "estilista" which means "Stylstist", the correct term would be "lápiz" or even you can still use Stylus, we use many english terms in spanish)
maybe you could stick only with youtube subtitles?
Me saque de onda con la traducción automática, ya la quite nada como tu voz 😅
brad, its good u add dub in my language, but i prefer your voices in english than ai,please just add subtitle, love ur video.
I'll be honest I've just come here to hear my dear beloved Wacom pro pen 2 get shilled 😅
Mr Brad, I finally Got a graphical tablet. GAOMON
Am I the only one who dislikes apple pencil? It's tip is so roundy and when I use it I can't see where my line lands and my linearts turns out so bad.
apple pencil hover is only with ipads with the m2 processor or over which sucks, it’s the only reason i got the most recent ipad air rather than older models. though the accuracy with the apple pencil is near perfect. personally i like the round tip, but that’s just a personal preference. i just like the premium feel and its weight. i can understand why some won’t like the apple pencil though.
I got of the video by mistake and when I try to get back into the video to continue re watching 😳🙄😳😭🙆🏽♂️it gives me a the the video in a language I don't even know. What the heck just happened?😭🙆🏽♂️😭😭🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️
Praying the currently downloaded video is normal when I play it offline right now 🙆🏽♂️😭🙆🏽♂️😭
У яблочного карандаша самая низкая чувствительность пожалуй из всех стилусов - об этом стоит упомянуть. Также на Android есть планшет xp pen где стилус работает по технологии xp pen.
Why in the holy smokes did my video autoplay in Hindi lol
Love em portugues
I think he bought one with the tab s8 or s9 ultra and wanted to try it but it broke too
wacom art pen
first for the first time
Pen for app cool
Metapen for iPad. 9 bucks.
Hindi audio कैसे translate हुआ भाई ???
not sure if I like the new AI dub audio tracks; but hey, whatever gets more views and markets i guess :(
Screw Wacom
Melhro coisa do mundo, canal internacional em português Brasileiro Uhuuuu \o/

Brad, I don't know if you have a say in the AI-generated audio translation on your videos, but if so, please disable it. It's awful. Apart from that, nice vid as always!
Tapped for the Sonar Pen, left disappointed
i am the #1 registered Apple Hater but there is simply no other pen that has a better mechanism for tilting and drawing on its side. its the only pen i can hold with the overhand grip! the ipad and pencil is the only apple device i own because its just that good. having the actual physical side of the stylus present for tilting is SO important.
any givewayas of these pens to african countries? xd
This dubbing of AI into Brazilian Portuguese is awful, it confuses a lot of things, the original language is much better to understand even if I'm not a speaker of the language
Brad there are no chapter markers. You lied 😭😭😭
I use universal stylus on my samsung a9+ lol dont laugh im poor 😄
