@@Ford-wt8rn There're explanations in Rtings website "www.rtings.com/tv/tests/picture-quality/peak-brightness#comparison_5670". In short, 2% windows means 2% area white and other area is black. Why do you not mention the lower bandwidth of the HDMI 2.1? if the CX is better for gamers it would need higher bandwidth. I am just looking for an honest review on this.
Worst remote I have ever seen and the TV has not enough brightness to correctl show bright scenes, like for example aquaman film where he is in the dessert or many avengers or lord of the rings scenes. It looks so dirty and dull. The image should get brighter in the scenes, but actually gets darker. It looks so unnatural...
@@Orlex Gsync is for smoothing out frames with NVIDIA graphics cards, and Free Sync is for smoothing frames with AMD graphics cards. This is huge if you're hooking up a PC to the TV to use it for gaming, which is a big growing trend now.
@@Orlex lol, that COMPLETELY slipped my mind for some reason. It's actually even bigger for the next gen consoles as they use AMD hardware. Current gen hardware won't benefit as much, if any, but the next gen consoles absolutely will. Free Sync and Gsync = buttery smooth gameplay if you have the hardware to back it up.
I bought the 55" other day in preparation for the PS5, and am currently using it with my PS4 Pro. WOW!! what an amazing picture, it's flawless. Best picture ever
I just ordered the 48 inch for ps4 and my xbox 1 x untill new systems are available i will purchase both. I can not wait to use this tv, i hear so many good things.
What do you think of your 55” TV so far with the PS5? I’m thinking on upgrading my TV to a OLED as well cuz of the PS5 lol. Right now I use a Ultra High Def Vizio 55” and wondering if it really makes a difference to upgrade.
@@chefman470 Hi mate. Honestly you will notice a huge difference compared to your Vizio. It's OLED so the blacks are perfect which makes a massive difference, also it's got HDMI 2.1 for 4K@120hz, super low input lag, and many other features to take full advantage of the PS5. My previous TV was a 3yr old 4K Sony Bravia and the picture quality blows that away. I've never experienced a picture as good as this.
@@geejayrc9401 Alrihht. That’s some positive feedback. I just didn’t know if investing more then a grand on a TV would make a difference so I was searching around, looking reviews, just making sure it’s the right choice. Thank for that.

I've just bought a Samsung TV (90T) after having the LG CX , this is brighter in my living room, where the LG looked dim, colors were a little more accurate in general with the LG and shadow resolution information was better but on sunny day the LG Oled was just too dull/dark. Yes I had the LG brightness cranked up. If I were to pick a TV for a room I could make completely dark, I would choose the LG, no question. So when a retailer asks where are you going to place a TV and how far away you are going to view it, PAY ATTENTION.
I just ordered a 65" CX. The C9 was about $300 less, but about half my usage is going to be for games, including the new consoles and a lot of PC gaming, and the new gaming features of the CX made it the better choice. I'm fine with spending a little extra on future proofing. It's like the size thing - it's better to get what you want now so you don't end up spending more later.
I bought a brand new C9 77” recently and spent $1000 less than I would have if I’d bought the CX. After watching this review, I definitely made the right choice. There is nothing that the CX offers that makes it worth paying $1000 more. Just get a C9.

It’s been a month since your post, would you still recommend this tv? I’m thinking abt ordering one tmrw so I’m trying to look into it today. Also random question but can you connect Bluetooth headphones like airpods to the TV?
So glad I didnt wait on the CX and bought a C9 2 months ago. The C9 to CX is essentially a wash and I got my C9 for a $1100 less than what the current CX is selling for
I only had to pay $490 more for the CX 65" so it's not too bad for me. If anything the better out-of-box picture will save me getting a professional calibrator, as well as for the small software/UI updates like Filmmaker Mode, BFI 120 etc.
@@ziti10 I've thought about the 55" as well, but I currently have a 50" Vizio and I feel like if I get a 55" LG I'm going to regret not getting the 65" later especially once I move into a house.

Picking mine up Saturday it’s the first oled set ive owned. I wanted a new tv to go with the series x and ps5. I was scared about burn in so I got a 5 year warranty from best buy. This tv is pretty much the best set you can get for gaming i almost bought a q90t because it would be worry free and that brightness.
I have one, too. But the auto dimming feature is frustrating. Do you notice any of that, too? For example, when playing Madden 21 on PS4, during kickoffs, it will get very, very dim then go back to normal when a new play starts. So weird and frustrating.
@Obed Blas there's something much better coming than MicroLED. Which won't be available mainstream for 5 years, besides which, it may never come to light as much better tech has been revealed - Samsung are shutting down production of LED in favour of QD-OLED (quantum dot oled) and LG will most likely follow suit. OLED is still very much the future.
Absolutely no issues. It's honestly one of the best things I've ever purchased. From playing my series x or watching the mandalorian, it truly elevates every experience.

Imo, between OLED and QLED I would only go OLED which im not a fan of any blooming as it takes away from the image even with QLED active blooming gives the picture a misty hazy look some tvs worse then others but any tv that requires a backlight your going to see some type of blooming on it
Arguably the best tv ever made. And while it’s almost 2500 bucks it’s still considerably cheaper than competitors high end models. And it out performs them. Switching from my Samsung Q9F 65 to this beauty solely for the next gen Xbox. Great review guys! As always
LG C9 and CX are amazing TVs bar none! I have been using the C9 for almost half a year and I have ZERO complaints. However, the icing on the cake would be a native Google Photo app in the LG Content Store that will allow people to showcase their TVs in all its glory with their personal photos and videos!
Set one of these up (55" version) this weekend, excellent TV. This will really shine for the new Xbox Series X or PS5 consoles, HDMI 2.1, 4K, 120hz and adaptive sync. Finally consoles getting high-end PC like display tech.
Facts, LG CX is going to pair extremely nicely with the next gen consoles. Even xbox one X / PS4 pro looks sick.. Minecraft looks dope on a OLED doesn't matter what content it is
I have a 65” C9 using it for gaming often and I’ve had no problems with it over the past year I had it. The sound on the thing is excellent too. The CX looks like a great upgrade from older models but I think I’ll stick with my C9 for a while.
So we lose DTS support and full HDMI bandwidth, which doesn't really matter, we gain a glitchy BFI 120hz and freesync, which doesn't really matter. Since none of this matters to me, a console gamer, i will buy a C9 because i need 4k and hdmi 2.1, saving roughly 800$ (55"), play for a year and see if the C11 is an actual upgrade, sell the C9 and use the 800$ for purchase of a new actually upgraded TV. Thanks Rtings!
G sync...this is the Ultimate..until now only two monitors were able to do 4k at 120hz or higher and they are NOT OLED AND cost over 1500 for a 27 inch! So for pc gamers, the 48 inch cx is a god send
I recently bought the 65cx and applied the recommended best settings. They definitely look good when it comes to HDR/4k content, however (and is it only just me).. I find with SDR content, watching TV shows/news etc, having the Sharpness setting at 0 really makes text / writing/ ppls faces look slightly blurry. Anyone else notice a better SDR picture when actually bumping up the Sharpness a little ?? I mean even having the Sharpness at the same level at the standard picture mode (of 25) makes SDR content sooo much clearer/better to watch
I'm waiting for a monitor that will be upgrade worthy over my LG 27GL850 . edit: not going 4k till there is hardware that can keep minimums to around 120fps at max settings. Hence why I currently have 1440p /144hz panel
You can always run 4k panel pretty near native as 1080p or just fine as 1440p. Also you can run 4k/120 pretty good, at least when dropping detail. But you're right, you'll always get less input lag and lower minimums when displaying lower resolution. Anyway the letdown here is that 120hz is getting slow in 2020. 1080p ips panels are already 240hz with tn TN like response times or even faster and supposedly there is coming first 1440p ips 240hz monitor later this year. But i mean they still don't have the picture quality anywhere near of an oled. Or the response times. Personally i am also sitting with my 165hz ips because i am afraid using my oled 24/7 for pc due all those burn in horror stories. Otherwise oled would win hands down for me.
Got the 65" when it dropped below $2000 at amazon and this TV is all kinds of awesome. But I think it's funny that in the settings part of your written review you say not to change the default hdr settings. In hdr the oled light goes to 100 and while striking it is ridiculous. Seriously, it actually made me laugh how outrageously bright it is like that. When I saw you were recommending keeping it like that I was like wtf?! If I were to watch it like that for more than a few minutes my eyeballs would get melted.
@@shanew7361 absolutely love it, do wish it was a little brighter but it’s awesome. No issues with burn in but I do keep an eye on what’s on the screen and vary content.

Keeping my b6 until something worthy comes along. Every year ABL gets more and more aggressive in the sets actually limiting peak brightness in HDR. I remember watching hdr on the c8 a few years ago and my b6 got way brighter in scenes with light. Only thing that would make me want a CX is the BFI at 4k 120hz but by the looks of it (no one mentions the exact numbers) the luminance is dropped too much to make the scene enjoyable for me.
Andros Forever yeah me too, I have a b7 and the only reason I’m tempted to upgrade is 4k120 for the new consoles but I will wait and see if the games really run at those frame rates or just a handful
I just got a Samsung Qled and I didn't know why the screen was all stained. I love you guys, now I know it's gray uniformity. The Samsung q80 is horrible.. it is so noticeable that it is unacceptable. I hate to box it up and return it. Time to sacrifice brightness for an LG. I got the money but I'm sick and tired these games, I just want a panel that looks good.
Great video! Liked and subbed. Loved the overall depth of content, but I've one small nitpick. I noticed the audio had a good bit of notieceable echo. I realize you're in a warehouse and warehouses are hard, but perhaps some sound dampening foam walls behind the camera man could help? Anyways, it wasn't a big thing and I thoroughly enjoyed the video!
I bought LG CX 55" a few days ago. There are 8 user agreements and I agreed to 2 out of 8, required for minimum operation of TV. Since LG dropped 48 Gbps to 40 Gbps for the CX, whereas they claim it is for the function of AI, it is clear to me that 8Gbps are used to collect data usage. This is my first non-Sony TV purchase and I am in my 40s. Sony really screwed up with their proper HDMI 2.1 support this year, so I had no choice
I feel you bro. But I'm afraid of one thing. If you look at other TV manufactures, all the 49" models don't seem to be in sync with 55". Like 55" model will have 120Hz refresh rate but 49" model will have only 60Hz. I hope it's not the case here
@@harshpranami7802 Nop, the CX 48" supports everything 55" have. +The only differences which makes pc gamers to prefer the 48" is because of the higher pixel density (more pixels per inch vs bigger panels) and smaller size which makes it more usable as a pc monitor. Still if the price won't' go lower compared to c9 55" soon I might get the c9.
Well, you're missing the BFI at 120Hz, 4k 120Htz Chroma 4:4:4 10bit through HDMI 2.0b throughput, the better out-of-box picture quality, and the last Alpha 9 Gen 3 processor with 50% improved GPU and improved CPU, all on the CX.
I have a C9, I freakin love it! The blacks are absurdly black, too black for some video games, you have to adjust between games because you literally can't see anything in dark images. I mean, they aren't exactly designing games around TVs that have perfect blacks. For example, I'm playing two games currently that are perfect on both ends. AC Odyssey is awesome with the blacks as dark as they can be. However, Red Dead 2 can be so dark you can't see anything, so I had to make some adjustments to the settings to make it more visible. The best thing though, G SYNC, it's so freaking awesome! If you have an RTX graphics card you get G Sync on this TV. Also 120 Hz at 4K once a graphics card with HDMI 2.1 comes out, hopefully this Sept with the RTX 3000 series. Color accuracy is also outstanding. The one issue is brightness isn't the greatest. If you compare it to a good QLED, the QLED is waaay brighter. I sit in the dark 90% of the time, so it's perfect for me. It also has a lot of other great options. The motion clarity is excellent. It supports Dolby Atmos and passes through to your receiver. I used the living crap out of mine so far, probably a couple thousand hours in just gaming and no burn in or anything like that.
My family purchased the CX55 for me for Father's Day. It should arrive on Tuesday. :) I will be using it as my monitor for PC as well as consoles. I game ALOT, watch movies etc. I am worried about a few things though, you seem to be using yours in a similar fashion and perhaps can shed some light some of these. First, I worry about burn in. Currently, I use a Vizio 55", and I never turn it off really. When not gaming, my PC is usually on some webpage or the desktop. Obviously I plan to start turning off the new TV when not in use. Any other tips that might help me? Second, one of my pet peeves in gaming is motion blur. It drives me nuts when I pan the camera around, and the backgrounds all just bluuurrrr. I'm "hoping" this TV will minimize this. What has been your experience? Lastly, the "low brightness" thing has me a bit worried. My wife, who has her PC area set up like mine, is literally right beside me. I purchased her a Samsung RU9000 I think last year. It's bright! I worry that this new OLED will be horrible looking beside it hehe. But then again, I crave accuracy too. I want the game/movie to look like it is supposed to look, as they were designed/made. Can't wait! :)
Well, id rather have a lower peak brightness and actually have highlights in scene with that high contrast ration, rather than a bright, black crushed mess of the QLED
Enigma 0 I agree plus Samsung‘s poor color in picture accuracy is terrible with that antique coding on the display that puts a rainbow on a display what a mess
Listening what you saying someone would think Samsung is the better tv but guess what,I'm not a gamer and i do have an amazing Bose stereo to hook up to the tv. The only thing that mater to me is the quality of the picture which is still the best with LG. One thing you should have mentioned was that CX is better protected for screen burning.
After reading the reviews I set out to buy myself the 65 inch CX TV . But then I saw it. The black mirror reflection from this screen was a deal killer. Costco"s display video loop is setup to show off the beautiful deep blacks. The problem with this display is the TV is dark a lot and screen looks like a big black mirror. I could see everything in the reflection, the other Tv's, ceiling lights and even the people walking by. The even bigger problem is the TV cannot get bright enough to compensate and hide these reflections. OLED's brightness is about half that of QLED. If you are in a dark room with no lights or widows the way BestBuy displays it then you'll love this set otherwise check it out for yourself and you will see what I'm talking about.
What is your source of DTS though? It’s been dropped because none of the streaming apps on the TV provide that format. You could never feed DTS into the TV and hear it from the TV’s speakers as intended. You can only playback DTS onto a speaker system designed for it. You’d normally access it through an AVR or a disc player with direct 5.1+ analog audio outputs.
The problem is that the TV can't passthrough the DTS signal via eARC to a sound system. That means you can't connect your DTS source directly to your TV. That also means you can't use the magic remote to control that source. But for most persons I guess it's a non issue. I don't know if I will ever use DTS when I buy new equipment, but when I pay for a premium product I want it all 😄👍
The mid-range VA LCD Sony X900H has full HDMI 2.1 support. (Not sure if it has 48Gbps bandwidth or "only" 40Gbps which doesn't matter anyways because the panels are only 10-bit instead of 12-bit.
Both are too similar for my taste. The CX seems to be a bit more refined, but the question is: Why would you buy one over the C9? You almost can buy two C9s for the price of one CX. Both are great though. Also looking forward what the micro LED future will hold. :)
Nice man I got a C9 too. I had the CX but exchanged it for the C9, because of no DTS and some weird bug. C9 is the better TV for the price if you ask me✌
I have a LG CX 48 as TV/monitor since 3 months. I had a 42inch Acer cg7... The oled blows me away. It´s another level in picture quality, compared to LED. I actually replay Witcher 3 in 4k (3090FE) - absolutly stunning. Oled 4ever
No consumer TVs have 12-bit panels. Therefore, you don't need 48Gbps bandwidth. The 40Gbps bandwidth on the CX is enough for next-gen consoles. PC gamers are the only ones that may benefit from buying the C9 instead of the CX since the C9 has 48Gbps but even then the C9 doesn't have a 12-bit panel.
I think high input lag in 4K 120 because it uses 4.2.0 not 4.4.4.4 so the true test with HDMI 2.1 port alpha 9 gen 3 improved AI features and new option Black level Auto also free sync maybe faster interface LG IP TV channels everything else are the same AI brightness it's enabled in C9 by default in Dolby vision cinema mode = Dolby vision IQ filmmaker mode= expert dark room but in my opinion go with CX 48” if you have the budget if there was 48” with C9 I would got it!!
Ohh yes will pick the 65 one up next week to pair up with an RTX 3080 equipped PC. I currently have a flagship Samsung 65 inch FALD From 2015 (which has been great) but looking forward to better motion handling and lower input lag. 👍. Dads buying my Samsung TV. That will pay for the 3080. Life is good.
Why didn’t you mention about the hdmi 2.1 only utilise 40 gbps instead of the full 48 gbps? Also that LG decide to drop the DTS sound format for the CX
Because there is no use for 48 gbps anyway, the maximum the TV can do is 10bit HDR 4k at 120hz, which is 40 gbps. There is simply no use for 48 gbps, not even in the future.
Jakub Klimunda but it’s information that might be the difference for people to decide to buy either the CX or C9, not to mention the DTS format removal is important to some people as well
Yh DTS is annoying for the people with content via input and sound via soundbar. But speakers or a home cinema set will give you that DTS. As for the 8 gbps less that's will never be an issue.
I recently returned a LG C9 because of the issues and delays with Earc to a AVR causing 300ms delay when using Dolby ATMOS content xbox plugged into the display via hdmi 2.1. After speaking to LG there was no current fix - so wondered if the CX has cured the issue.
it is indeed as it seemed the differences between a cx and a c9 are minimal. for short we note a faster processor and the BFI in 120hz for the cx. that's why the price difference is so small between the two models.
It's a shame there wasn't any specifics on the 48" model. That's the one that interests me the most. I understand that it's most likely identical to this one, apart from size, but with Samsung 49" models always being vastly inferior to the rest, I can't help but wonder.
Got one the other day. I have a OMEN 32” IPS monitor and it gets the same FPS and at times I was hitting 200 FPS and I have an nvidia 2080 ti. I got it for the Xbox series x if I’ll even see one available
I’m so glad I got the C9 on discounts right as they announced the CX. It’s pretty much identical while keeping the full bandwidth HDMI 2.1, yeah I can’t use the whole thing but it’s good feeling that I do and the CX doesn’t. Plus it’s quite a bit cheaper. I was able to get the 65” C9 for only $1799. At that price there’s nothing that can compare to that period.

Why would you want strobing? Its been around since the XL2420T came out for PC monitors. (It was called Lightboost then) Which is like.. 10 years ago? No one uses it still because it has no pros worthwhile the cons that you get. Yeah you get a blur free image but the image gets dim as shit and you have to keep a permanently static framerate of 120 (or 60 at 60hz) in order for it to feel smooth and no crosstalk plus you get the flickering, which is rather intense.
@@terraincognitagaming My Samsung CFG73 doesn't even dim 5% compared to BFI-off, so that's not really the case anymore for all implementations like it used to be (screens dimming that much). In fact: it's too bright with BFI enabled and can't be dimmed down to my preferred settings. Flickering at BFI120 for 120hz/fps content is barely (if at all) noticeable. 60hz for sure, but at 120+ not so much.
There is no comparison for input lag 4K@120Hz for C9, only data for CX is given. This is important to know when deciding which TV to buy for the upcoming PS 5 and Xbox Series
Just make sure to buy it with a credit card that offers an extended warranty. My B6 is loaded with burn-in from gaming. Luckily, I got my money refunded from my CC company. I'm hoping the newer tech has better anti-burn built in.
If you can afford it, the E9 has a glass display panel vs the C9's plastic, otherwise the C9 is great for the price. If you can find the 2019 on sale vs the 2020 CX, get the C9. Reference: HDTV 2019 vs 2020 C9/CX comparison video.
Rtings is correct with the comparison . the 2 year old model is A8F . The A8G and A9 G both are 2019 models . Sony uses the alphabet to denote the model year . if "F" means 2018 , "G" means 2019 and "H" means 2020 . In the sony OLED lineup , the 8 series is the normal one and the 9 series is the premium one . Price wise the sony 8 series usually competes against the LG C series and the sony 9 series competes against the LG E series . However in 2020, with LG discontinuing the E series , there wont be a challenger from LG side for the Sony 9 series (LG W series is far too expensive). Hope this clarifies .
Sir: your review basically said what you didn’t verbalize - there is just not many basic differences from C9 to CX (lovely that LG is now using Roman numerals) particularly if you wish to upgrade. BUT - There is a major difference in the remotes- C9’s still have the Zoom-Focus ability - which - just as they did for 3D - they seem to think we “don’t want!” This guy does. It is incredible to zoom in up to 500% on available content (RUclips + ) just like I did with your expose’ on the remote. This is not a minor issue and should have been mentioned!
CX has no built-in DTS audio decoder, the C9 does. The CX has gimped 40Gbps HDMI 2.1 sockets, the C9 has full 48Gbps bandwidth on its HDMI 2.1 sockets. The CX United Kingdom model is missing several popular On Demand Apps (BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, 4oD, My5) because LG failed to secure licences for them before launch. The C9 comes with all those apps. LG dropped the ball hard with the CX. Also, glossy screens are NOT anti-reflective. They reflect more than any other type of TV screen.
@@bean420man It is weird but that's what Sony decided aka bringing flagship features to their mid-range X900H TV which is their affordable TV for next-gen console gamers and next-gen graphics cards.
Just got mine today. Have to say the picture is nice but not noticeably nicer than my LG 65E7P. Only problem I've had is I've got a line out (optical) to my home surround sound but I can't get it to play surround sound plus the TV speakers at the same time. Never had a problem with 65E7P.

Why do you not mention the lower bandwidth of the HDMI 2.1? if the CX is better for gamers it would need higher bandwidth. I am just looking for an honest review on this.
Once you go OLED, there is no going back. The magic remote is incredible also. Well worth the $$$.

4 days into having lg cx. This statement is correct

@@plantman1093 I wouldn't worry over it. I love it, no complaints
You can’t go wrong with an lLG OLED, I’ve had mine for almost a year and the quality still amazes me every time.
@Grant Todd lemme guess you have a QLED aka an inferior TV :P ahahaha
FREE SYNC HAS BEEN ADDED! 🙌🏼
What is does?
@@Orlex Gsync is for smoothing out frames with NVIDIA graphics cards, and Free Sync is for smoothing frames with AMD graphics cards. This is huge if you're hooking up a PC to the TV to use it for gaming, which is a big growing trend now.
@@Harrison.DuRant nice! But what about consoles players?:) no benefits?
@@Orlex lol, that COMPLETELY slipped my mind for some reason. It's actually even bigger for the next gen consoles as they use AMD hardware.

What are the new gaming features it has that the c9 doesn’t?
I bought a brand new C9 77” recently and spent $1000 less than I would have if I’d bought the CX. After watching this review, I definitely made the right choice. There is nothing that the CX offers that makes it worth paying $1000 more. Just get a C9.
120hz bfi, dolby vision IQ, Freesync support for some console gamers, filmmaker mode for 4k enthusiasts. there are more diferences between the two.
@@zetalux Dolby vision IQ is the same as AI brightness and it's enabled by default in dolby vision cinema mode

@@othman0077 depends on distance. if you are further away from your TV... you wont notice a difference in quality between a 48 and 55". if you are using it as a computer monitor and are sitting a couple feet from it, then I would agree with you.
Omar Amer I’m not saying there aren’t differences and upgrades from the C9 to the CX. But.. in my opinion, the upgrades are fairly minor and don’t really warrant an extra $1000. I paid $4000 for my C9 during a temporary sale. The CX equivalent is $5000.

Amen, only reason to get cx is the 48inch version which is small enough for computer desk so we can enjoy a nice fear of burn in.
I only had to pay $490 more for the CX 65" so it's not too bad for me. If anything the better out-of-box picture will save me getting a professional calibrator, as well as for the small software/UI updates like Filmmaker Mode, BFI 120 etc.

Question. Does your CX slightly lean back on its stand?

@Obed Blas there's something much better coming than MicroLED. Which won't be available mainstream for 5 years, besides which, it may never come to light as much better tech has been revealed - Samsung are shutting down production of LED in favour of QD-OLED (quantum dot oled) and LG will most likely follow suit. OLED is still very much the future.

Facts, LG CX is going to pair extremely nicely with the next gen consoles. Even xbox one X / PS4 pro looks sick.. Minecraft looks dope on a OLED doesn't matter what content it is
Watching this on my C9 :) **Still a Beast**
I have one i 100% agree
@@OutsideDuhBox C9 is Gsync certified, again, only relevant on HDMI 2.0, with 2.1 VRR does the same thing.
Won't 49" be very big for a monitor?
@@harshpranami7802 if you sit 3 feet back its very usable

I’ve got a B6 and it’s the best TV I’ve ever had.

I'm excited to watch this review of the LG CX. 🤓🖖🏻
Got one of these coming tomorrow. 👌
All in all, Only reason to buy CX is for the 48”
I feel you bro.
+1. having true blacks is just so much better
I totally agree plus the screen is coded with an anti-glare substance which causes poor video accuracy in a rainbow haze on the display
Enigma 0 I agree plus Samsung‘s poor color in picture accuracy is terrible with that antique coding on the display that puts a rainbow on a display what a mess
Starry night, enough said, you ain't gonna see any fucking stars on QLED.
@@WhiteoutTech That it seems depends on the ambien light in the room. I usually draw the curtains.
Listening what you saying someone would think Samsung is the better tv but guess what,I'm not a gamer and i do have an amazing Bose stereo to hook up to the tv. How did you get it so cheap?
That is great! Where please?
WTH man where you from? Here in Australia it’s $2000+.
@Alistair Here in Greece it was at 900€ for 3 days, but never so cheap like the OP claims.

@@dannyweiss9701 From what I heard the upscaling of CX isn't much different from C9's. I haven't witnessed it in person though.
@0:12 "And let's C if anything has changed..." 🤣🤣🤣
Ha, good one!
You should mention that the CX lacks DTS decoding.
True
What is your source of DTS though? It’s been dropped because none of the streaming apps on the TV provide that format. You could never feed DTS into the TV and hear it from the TV’s speakers as intended. You can only playback DTS onto a speaker system designed for it. You’d normally access it through an AVR or a disc player with direct 5.1+ analog audio outputs.
@@mcnaugha I agree. It seems like a complete none issue except for a few rare cases. Some people just see a lack in spec and assume it's a bad thing.

For what kind of purpose do you need over 40gb on this this?
@@38201270298 So it is not important to mention?
No consumer TVs have 12-bit panels. Therefore, you don't need 48Gbps bandwidth.
The 40Gbps bandwidth on the CX is enough for next-gen consoles.
PC gamers are the only ones that may benefit from buying the C9 instead of the CX since the C9 has 48Gbps but even then the C9 doesn't have a 12-bit panel.
I think high input lag in 4K 120 because it uses 4.2.0 not 4.4.4.4

Why didn’t you mention about the hdmi 2.1 only utilise 40 gbps instead of the full 48 gbps? Also that LG decide to drop the DTS sound format for the CX
Because there is no use for 48 gbps anyway, the maximum the TV can do is 10bit HDR 4k at 120hz, which is 40 gbps. There is simply no use for 48 gbps, not even in the future.
Jakub Klimunda but it’s information that might be the difference for people to decide to buy either the CX or C9, not to mention the DTS format removal is important to some people as well
rexile1986 so lg in the same boat as scumsung now, nice job lgsung. Btw u can pass-through sound to reciver, so it won't be a problem with dts.
Yh DTS is annoying for the people with content via input and sound via soundbar. But speakers or a home cinema set will give you that DTS. As for the 8 gbps less that's will never be an issue.
all streaming apps only do dolby
Glad to see that the VRR input Lag issue has been resolved.
Woah what was the issue?
@@Theking02201 In there inititial test there was more delay with VRR then without. But apperantly it was a problem with the Test PC.
I'm get this TV this weekend I'm fortunate to have a series x outta a fiasco
Count the number of times he said “same as the C9 from last year”
I felt like i shouldve watched a c9 review before watching this one
@@ninjascroll1017 Same as the c8
I have the 65 CX..Even Out of the box picture is insane.I lucked out on the panel too. Gray uniformity is perfect.
Where did you get your CX from if you dont mind me asking?
@0:05 lmao
I was wondering if he did that intentionally or if he really didn't know at first
I’m so glad I got the C9 on discounts right as they announced the CX.
Strider correct except that the c9 also has a 120hz panel
How long does it generally take to have a burn-in when you pause content?
the top half looks so delicate
This is a real video that explain everthing ! Unlike others , good job folks
Well just got the 65” CX delivered this morning. Haven’t even opened the box yet. Have to work first and it’s driving me nuts.
just relax bro......is what I tell myself when I pick mine up at Best Buy NEXT THURSDAY. it driving me insane. im just trying not to think about it. smh
@UCA8vmhH_2sc1I_42rdIg10g mighty Paul working hard every day on giant tech:)))
I used The tech giant picture settings for my C9. The video is for the B9 but it made a world of difference. He nailed the settings for the Dolby vision and HDR content. He has the settings for gaming in the comments section. Tweak it to your preference. I watched hundreds of videos to get the settings right. Enjoy your CX.
Jblaze600 thanks
@@jblaze600 thanks, whats that video called ?
would like to see how Sony A9S OLED compares
@ITS MAAAM Lately they have been dookie, so you got a point there man. MA'AM. I mean ma'am. What are you doing with that golf club abby? Wait, no, no... NOOOOO!!
I love Sony but their OLEDs are absurdly expensive and don't even have VRR or ALLM.
@@Tatazildo The mid-range VA LCD Sony X900H has full HDMI 2.1 support. (Not sure if it has 48Gbps bandwidth or "only" 40Gbps which doesn't matter anyways because the panels are only 10-bit instead of 12-bit.
@@PSYCHOV3N0M I know! I was talking about the OLED lineup. They're way behind, unfortunately.
Thanks to your review Nakimachi 9.2.4 vs the Samsung Q90R. I got the Nakimachi with the C9 and wow! It’s a perfect setup!!! The C9 is amazing!
How wide are the bezels on the c9 ?
I hope Sony beats this display, no DTS support, no eARC on 8 series displays. And the CX imo is a down grade from the C9.... Soooo wtf I'm done LG! I'm team OLED but this is getting insane with LG behind the wheel.
Rtings thank you for a fantastic video glad to see your team back. Thumb up the video thumb down the display.
🤦🏾♂️
Excellent job as always guys! Thank you so much for all you do and I hope allnis well in Canada!
No mention of the BFI image doubling or the hightened blacks issues
Why would you want strobing? Its been around since the XL2420T came out for PC monitors. (It was called Lightboost then) Which is like.. 10 years ago? No one uses it still because it has no pros worthwhile the cons that you get. Yeah you get a blur free image but the image gets dim as shit and you have to keep a permanently static framerate of 120 (or 60 at 60hz) in order for it to feel smooth and no crosstalk plus you get the flickering, which is rather intense.
Or the missing DTS, even in passthrough
Leon Klein it supports DTS, just not through eARC
@@terraincognitagaming My Samsung CFG73 doesn't even dim 5% compared to BFI-off, so that's not really the case anymore for all implementations like it used to be (screens dimming that much). In fact: it's too bright with BFI enabled and can't be dimmed down to my preferred settings. Flickering at BFI120 for 120hz/fps content is barely (if at all) noticeable. 60hz for sure, but at 120+ not so much.
Terra Incognita Gaming Don’t talk about motion clarity until you know literally anything about it. blurbusters.com/faq/oled-motion-blur/
There is no comparison for input lag 4K@120Hz for C9, only data for CX is given. This is important to know when deciding which TV to buy for the upcoming PS 5 and Xbox Series
well it will. be my first OLED. and based on this review. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY 65 inch! :)
Just make sure to buy it with a credit card that offers an extended warranty. My B6 is loaded with burn-in from gaming. Luckily, I got my money refunded from my CC company. I'm hoping the newer tech has better anti-burn built in.
@@cdobersteify Damn straight...not just gaming. Any broadcast with a chyron

Chris how often do you game?
If you can afford it, the E9 has a glass display panel vs the C9's plastic, otherwise the C9 is great for the price. If you can find the 2019 on sale vs the 2020 CX, get the C9. Reference: HDTV 2019 vs 2020 C9/CX comparison video.
The c9 has a glass panel
X950H coming soon..... ?
X950H doesn't have HDMI 2.1.
The Sony X900H DOES have it.
PSYCHO does the c10 have 2.1 or will the the c9 receive a software update for 2.1 or is this a hardware need?
Ryan is fantastic. Probably my favorite reviewer you guys have.
Why compare with Sony's A8G? Last year's comparable for Sony is A9G. The A8G is 2 years old.
Rtings has been disrespecting Sony for a few years now
Rtings is correct with the comparison . the 2 year old model is A8F .
I guess that explains since LG makes the oled panels, why there won't be a A9H this year. Thanks for clearing up the model designations
Only negative with the stand is the tv on it kinda still moves around a bit and the tv sits low so sound bar might block the screen
Amazing the same performance as every year
Sir: your review basically said what you didn’t verbalize - there is just not many basic differences from C9 to CX (lovely that LG is now using Roman numerals) particularly if you wish to upgrade. BUT -
There is a major difference in the remotes- C9’s still have the Zoom-Focus ability - which - just as they did for 3D - they seem to think we “don’t want!” This guy does. It is incredible to zoom in up to 500% on available content (RUclips + ) just like I did with your expose’ on the remote. This is not a minor issue and should have been mentioned!
I would buy the c9 if it came in 48", I'm using it as my gaming monitor
When can we expect to see Sony X900H / X950H reviews?
X950H doesn't have HDMI 2.1.
Only the X900H does.
@@PSYCHOV3N0M That is so weird because technically, the X950H is the better model but it lacks HDMI 2.1.
