Love you're work bro you have inspired me to start customizing and actually really try I've picked up a lot of your products trying to purchase the $300 packet of stencils here soon

I can’t say I have a pair done that has multiple years of wear to showcase but just based off how even acetone can’t remove the tint, I really think it’s there for good.. I’d say you can do it with other colors but you can’t go in expecting a solid look.. it works here since the aging can be somewhat uneven.. I wouldn’t view these as a way to let’s say make a midsole completely red
@@SK-xz4ek yes you can use any color, however just remember it’s not going to completely solid. You end up with an uneven aged look like shown on this pair
Hello, I wanted to ask a question. At the moment I’m doing a custom shoe. And I was wondering, can you just use the Angelus paint to paint the inside lining of the shoe, or do you have to use another product for the paint, to then paint the inner lining of the shoe?
I'm painting my first pair of customs for myself but I'm not able to get the Angelus Paint and Sealer because of where I live. I'm using multi-surface indoor/outdoor craft paint along with an indoor/outdoor acrylic sealer. I'm wondering if you have any tips on what I should do to help my paint not come off or something cause I'm super scared that it will.
It will come off absolutely no matter what you do when using cheaper acrylic paints, they’re just too thick unfortunately. I would really try continuing to search around and see how you can get angelus in your area
Litty video, but I wish you woulda put some pure-white up against the finished sole so we could see the actual full effect. Even a blank piece of paper woulda done the job. Just the same, thx for the hack. Keep posting. Channel goes!
Hi guys. This is so helpful. I’m doing this step for my next custom. I just want to ask if what would you recommend for a substitute leather due color besides brandy? Is the brown the closest color?
Great videos as always 👍👍👍👍👍 How well does paint hold on the mid soles? Im painting my sons kicks but would like to paint a part of the mid sole. Hope you can help me out. Keep up the great vids...
I started a project working on my first custom sneakers this month... I'm going very slow because they're an anniversary gift for my girl, so I want them to be perfect... But I think they're coming out dope. Of course I went with some AF1s You were one of my main learning channels and of course I went with Angelus
Question: I’m going to do a pair of Jordan 1s and want to dye the sole and mid sole (being that it’s all that bright white I don’t want) Do you know how well dye will hold up on bottom? And also, if I do the bottoms as well as mid sole, should I hang dry them somehow so that nothing that was stained touches any surface as it dry’s? Thanks again for all the tips and videos!
Yeah maybe hang em from a clothes line, or some type of table setup where they can be flipped upside down.. I believe the dye on the bottom will hold similar to the midsole, even if scuffed or worn it’s not gunna be pearly white underneath anymore
The more acetone you apply with slightly lighten it, but only to a certain extent. Definitly one of those situations where you’d rather need to go back and add more to darken, rather than try to find a way to lighten
I know it says 25% each of dye and 50% of salon care 40, but How much do you actually dye and salon care 40 do you use? Any measurements or rule of thumb?
Kinda tough to say since you really don’t need a lot. For reference in this video that’s a 2 oz cup and you can see how little I’m actually using .. probably less than .5oz total
Any advice or new tips for dying midsoles generally? Does this work with any color dye? I'm struggle with this technique and no one seems to be willing to share secrets on dying soles. Maybe there aren't any, but man, WHITE WHITE WHITE AF1 midsoles hurt the eyes. HELP!!
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear Thanks for the quick reply. So is it just using a leather dye like you used here or are there other products we should look at?
It removes the excess dye so that when you touch them with your fingers your don’t end up transferring any of the dye.. if you simply want to strengthen the effect and potency of the dye job you can just use less of the cream.,

does the paint hold up there if you wear it often?
Yup as long as you prepped em correctly
please make a video on how to paint without creating brushstrokes
Great topic!
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear thanks please make the video because I am going to soon customise a pair of af1 so I want it to look the best just like yours
Lmao, I had a custom planned out in
my mind that interpreted using aging the soles
Hi, this question is off topic but can you tell me why whenever I paint on canvas shoes like vans the paint kinda bleeds through
im trying to keep my soles from aging not making them yellow!
LOL! Sometimes you just need it
That’s a-whole-nother video.
Here for the standup comedy (1:23) 😂
LOLOL
Will the dye fade over time and does this work with different colors?
I can’t say I have a pair done that has multiple years of wear to showcase but just based off how even acetone can’t remove the tint, I really think it’s there for good.. I’d say you can do it with other colors but you can’t go in expecting a solid look.. it works here since the aging can be somewhat uneven.. Dope bro
Thank you!
Your definitely underrated for the amount of influence you have. Question, is it possible to apply this dye using an airbrush?
Thank you for that! No you wouldn’t wanna airbrush the dye. It’ll really dirty up your airbrush also
does this work for any color?
Like can you use any color dye? Or do you mean will it work on an already black midsole?
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear like on a white sole can i do a purple color or like a blue stain ?:)
@@SK-xz4ek yes you can use any color, however just remember it’s not going to completely solid. You end up with an uneven aged look like shown on this pair

I can’t say I have a wear tested pair yet, but I imagine if anything it would be quite minimal

Hi guys. This is so helpful. I’m doing this step for my next custom. I just want to ask if what would you recommend for a substitute leather due color besides brandy? Is the brown the closest color?
I would say the dark knight sole dye gum bottom color. Otherwise from angelus id say gold actually.
Thank you so much! That helps a lot. Really do appreciate it

I really really recommend avoiding it if you’re hoping for it to hold long term. Paint and rubber just not a good mix
