I was expecting finding some segment of the game where we could fight these kind of enemies in uncharted 4 but never appeared. In fact, the fantasy part of Uncharted 4 looks like it was removed completely since I think that ND was planning to have zombie pirates but never were added which I think it would have been awesome. Also, I had the idea that in some part of the game we could play as pirates themselves as some sort of flashbacks but that never happened yet the game it's stil awesome.

Zaire Lewis Alright, let me break it down for you. When she says that first line, the joke is that this is a video game and you kill a lot of her men that work for her. Now, add that second line "Of course not, it is all a game to you." In which, this has a double meaning. It is a video game, but do you care if you kill so many people of the opposition? No. The other meaning is that Drake and Sam treat "killing as many enemies as possible to get to a major goal before the antagonists do" as a "game".
Nadine's a badass and all but how in the world did she handle her own against Nate AND Sam at the same damn time? Nate's beaten trained fighters and guys 3 times his size. Sam has also shown to be a good fighter. Not to mention that they have more upper body strength and a weight advantage. So 1 woman holding her own against 2 men who've shown to be good fighters while not even breaking a sweat just doesn't make any sense to me. I mean for god sakes Nate and Sam can't even land a single punch.
It's because Nate is usually brawling rather than fighting with some form of martial arts, and the guys he fights are usually big and heavy which means they are slower and rely on long hard attacks where as Nadine's attacks are faster and lighter, making her more of a martial arts fighter.
+TheMinipily I'm late af but you're right. People who are into martial arts that are much faster and light in their moves tend to win fights more often because they're more wire-y. Her moves are very power ranger (ish) which Nate and Sam aren't really used to.
That doesnt mean she can see every single move coming her way, especially with two guys fighting her. In other games even when the enemy has a more refined fighting style than the main character, the fight isnt NOWHERE NEAR as one sided as this. Replace Nadine with Drake and vice versa and switch their styles. The fight wouldnt probably be as one sided to be honest.
I think my only complaint is this: In Uncharted 3, Nate takes down IDK how many guys twice his size as well as Talbot, who, if I'm not wrong, had black ops experience, in a KNIFE FIGHT. Then, here comes another person with Military experience and Nate AND Sam couldn't handle. It's like Nate was never in a fight before. Geez Naughty Dog, at least let Nate land A FEW hits.

You guys, don’t be disappointed just yet with the game. I know, I saw the leaked cutscenes myself and they seem pretty real, but if you recall, in the reveal date trailer, Joel appears behind Ellie and says “you think I would let you do this alone?”. This is after Ellie is already on the revenge path for Joel’s so called death, so it doesn’t make sense that he’s dead, so the leaks were false or Joel just isn’t dead. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this actuallly gives hope for the game. And while it still doesn’t fix the fact that Abby is going to be a playable character, I’m still hoping deep down Joel won’t die.

I don't have a problem with Nadine being able to beat Nathan, but I don't like how he wasn't able to put up more of a fight. I mean the dude has fought at least three armies (four if you include Nadine's army) so I was hoping for them to at least be more evenly matched.

Nadine absolutely doesn't look strong enough to hit Nate that hard to stun him long enough that he can't come back swinging. Is it me or does this scene bare a striking resemblance to the handicap final fight scene of The Raid movie? Ironically, it also featured two brothers fighting a single but formidable adversary.
Honestly they made Nathan seem like a wimp, he clearly had combat training in uncharted 1-3 and in none of them was he beat up or bested that badly. Coincidentally, the only character that makes him seem as incompetent as a child is a woman. I have nothing against a strong female portrayal, I just hate it when they discard logic, and a character's background, just to promote the "Women are as strong as men" ideal. It's idiotic. We all know if nadine was a male it would have been completely different, after all, the disposable goons you've been killing are all male. So I replayed this game recently and i think I finally know what exactly the problem with Nadine is and it's that she's entirely pointless to the plot. I'll go scene by scene of her in the game. 1. Meeting Sully at the auction: In this scene she gives Sully/the audience some information about herself but most importantly we learn she's working with Rafe to explain why Rafe has an army. Rafe could easily just hire a private militia force with or without Nadine's involvement. 2. She tries getting the cross back from Nathan believing he stole it: All this does is introduce Nate to Nadine. He doesn't have the cross so the confrontation is pointless and the result is he's thrown out the window. 3. The closest thing to a justification she has in the game is when she defends her men for using explosives despite Rafe getting upset over it. This explains the fututre set pieces where something blew up. Rafe could've just not brought up the explosives and this confrontation could be avoided but okay. 4. When Nate and Sam discover the clue to Madagascar she and her capture them at gun point. If this was just a group of faceless merceneries any of them could report to Rafe that Madagascar is the next desitnation. The result of the scene is a man triggering a booby trap causing the floor to collapse. He wasn't ordered to do anything he just triggered it on his own. 5. She fights Nate and Sam in an ancient building causing the floor to collapse resulting in them coming face to face with Rafe. As a result Sam is captured and Nate jumps into a river where he reunites with Elena. Nadine's only role in this is that she fights the brothers causing the floor to collapse. The fight could be with anyone, hell the floor could just collapse because it's an ancient building. 6. She tries abandoning the mission and Rafe threatens her, this leads to her betraying him by locking the door of Avery's ship as it burns. Avery has clearly shown he can set booby traps. It's easy for him to booby trap the door of the treasury so it locks in its own and then the explosives go off inside the ship (which he also showed he can set up easily) In an attempt to kill anyone who would go after his treasure which would fit the way his character had been presented at that point. Surprisingly I don't think the solution is to cut Nadine. I think she should have been written to be more integral to the plot. U2 wouldn't have worked without Flynn. U3 wouldn't have worked without Talbot. U4 shouldn't work without Nadine but it does.
I just realized that Nate could have taken Nadine on, as you can see he wasn’t even harmed after both fights. I feel like he was holding back. He also should be as strong as Asav. I think Nate would have been able to grab Nadine and slam her like Asav did if he wanted to. Just my two cents.
Asav is much bigger and stronger than Nate. He also is actually trained to fight while Nate mostly picked stuff up along the way. Asav in a straight fist fight would kill Nate on his own.

Gotta love the sheer fantasy of this scene. A chick that weighs maybe 150 pounds beating down two grown men that are more than capable at hand to hand combat. There are even instances where he seems to hesitate to hit her, even though it’s clear that she is out to legitimately hurt him. Here is a world-class adventurer, a guy that has been through many dangerous situations; and he’s terrified of some over-confident bitch that has taken a few Taekwondo classes. And to the people who counter this claim by stating that ‘Nadine is a trained martial artist’. I reply: Training will only take you so far. That is why weight classes are instituted in mixed martial arts or boxing. Because size and strength do matter in combat. Anyone who’s ever strapped on gloves and traded blows with another human being can attest as to how difficult it is to fight a larger opponent, especially someone who is skilled and outweighs you by more than 10 pounds. It boggles my mind to think that the ‘creative minds’ at Naughty Dog somehow see this garbage writing as a proper send-off to one of their most beloved characters. Here is a character with an invested audience that have purchased and played the previous trilogy and you repay their loyalty by emasculating and embarrassing the hero of the story in its final chapter. I just find it funny how unrealistic Nates fights and experiences have been up to this point but this is where people try to add a realistic viewpoint.
I don't think it's unrealistic to think she could defeat them both, she is shown to be a badass with hand to hand skills pretty early on and Sam has been in Prison for 15 years and Drake was retired and living a quiet life like a week before this fight. They weren't exactly at their best and they've always been just kind of normal guys who are forced to fight.
The One Lincoln actually even the most experienced fighters in the world will tell you technique doesn't = being able to beat someone marginally stronger or faster, let alone multiple people at the same time.

Luke47895 I think if anything that’s what they tried to do. U see it in lost legacy but Nadine is actually extremely strong and has a lot of muscle mass. Combine that with intense military training and you have a force to reckoned with. However something important to note is that her strategy to fighting is very much based on using their own weight against them and by simply dodging punches and then attacking once the opponent is vulnerable. You see this more in uncharted lost legacy. I think that makes it much more realistic, seeing as a couple of strong punches could realistically knock her out.

I was expecting finding some segment of the game where we could fight these kind of enemies in uncharted 4 but never appeared. In fact, the fantasy part of Uncharted 4 looks like it was removed completely since I think that ND was planning to have zombie pirates but never were added which I think it would have been awesome. Also, I had the idea that in some part of the game we could play as pirates themselves as some sort of flashbacks but that never happened yet the game it's stil awesome.

Now, add that second line "Of course not, it is all a game to you." In which, this has a double meaning. It is a video game, but do you care if you kill so many people of the opposition? No. The other meaning is that Drake and Sam treat "killing as many enemies as possible to get to a major goal before the antagonists do" as a "game".

Nadine's a badass and all but how in the world did she handle her own against Nate AND Sam at the same damn time? Nate's beaten trained fighters and guys 3 times his size. Sam has also shown to be a good fighter. Not to mention that they have more upper body strength and a weight advantage. So 1 woman holding her own against 2 men who've shown to be good fighters while not even breaking a sweat just doesn't make any sense to me. I mean for god sakes Nate and Sam can't even land a single punch.
While it's a tad unrealistic, she is a beast at hand to hand combat.
It's because Nate is usually brawling rather than fighting with some form of martial arts, and the guys he fights are usually big and heavy which means they are slower and rely on long hard attacks where as Nadine's attacks are faster and lighter, making her more of a martial arts fighter.
+TheMinipily I'm late af but you're right. People who are into martial arts that are much faster and light in their moves tend to win fights more often because they're more wire-y. Her moves are very power ranger (ish) which Nate and Sam aren't really used to.
That doesnt mean she can see every single move coming her way, especially with two guys fighting her. In other games even when the enemy has a more refined fighting style than the main character, the fight isnt NOWHERE NEAR as one sided as this. Replace Nadine with Drake and vice versa and switch their styles. The fight wouldnt probably be as one sided to be honest.

In Uncharted 3, Nate takes down IDK how many guys twice his size as well as Talbot, who, if I'm not wrong, had black ops experience, in a KNIFE FIGHT. Then, here comes another person with Military experience and Nate AND Sam couldn't handle. It's like Nate was never in a fight before. Geez Naughty Dog, at least let Nate land A FEW hits.

You guys, don’t be disappointed just yet with the game. I know, I saw the leaked cutscenes myself and they seem pretty real, but if you recall, in the reveal date trailer, Joel appears behind Ellie and says “you think I would let you do this alone?”. This is after Ellie is already on the revenge path for Joel’s so called death, so it doesn’t make sense that he’s dead, so the leaks were false or Joel just isn’t dead. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this actuallly gives hope for the game. And while it still doesn’t fix the fact that Abby is going to be a playable character, I’m still hoping deep down Joel won’t die.

Laura Bailey is a great actress. She does a really admirable job of simulating a South African accent, too.
Honestly they made Nathan seem like a wimp, he clearly had combat training in uncharted 1-3 and in none of them was he beat up or bested that badly. Coincidentally, the only character that makes him seem as incompetent as a child is a woman. I have nothing against a strong female portrayal, I just hate it when they discard logic, and a character's background, just to promote the "Women are as strong as men" ideal. It's idiotic. So I replayed this game recently and i think I finally know what exactly the problem with Nadine is and it's that she's entirely pointless to the plot. I'll go scene by scene of her in the game.
1. Meeting Sully at the auction: In this scene she gives Sully/the audience some information about herself but most importantly we learn she's working with Rafe to explain why Rafe has an army. Rafe could easily just hire a private militia force with or without Nadine's involvement.
2. She tries getting the cross back from Nathan believing he stole it: All this does is introduce Nate to Nadine. He doesn't have the cross so the confrontation is pointless and the result is he's thrown out the window.
3. The closest thing to a justification she has in the game is when she defends her men for using explosives despite Rafe getting upset over it. This explains the fututre set pieces where something blew up. Rafe could've just not brought up the explosives and this confrontation could be avoided but okay.
4. When Nate and Sam discover the clue to Madagascar she and her capture them at gun point. If this was just a group of faceless merceneries any of them could report to Rafe that Madagascar is the next desitnation. The result of the scene is a man triggering a booby trap causing the floor to collapse. He wasn't ordered to do anything he just triggered it on his own.
5. She fights Nate and Sam in an ancient building causing the floor to collapse resulting in them coming face to face with Rafe. As a result Sam is captured and Nate jumps into a river where he reunites with Elena. Nadine's only role in this is that she fights the brothers causing the floor to collapse. The fight could be with anyone, hell the floor could just collapse because it's an ancient building.
6. She tries abandoning the mission and Rafe threatens her, this leads to her betraying him by locking the door of Avery's ship as it burns. Avery has clearly shown he can set booby traps. It's easy for him to booby trap the door of the treasury so it locks in its own and then the explosives go off inside the ship (which he also showed he can set up easily) In an attempt to kill anyone who would go after his treasure which would fit the way his character had been presented at that point.
Surprisingly I don't think the solution is to cut Nadine. I think she should have been written to be more integral to the plot. U2 wouldn't have worked without Flynn. U3 wouldn't have worked without Talbot. U4 shouldn't work without Nadine but it does.
I just realized that Nate could have taken Nadine on, as you can see he wasn’t even harmed after both fights. I feel like he was holding back. He also should be as strong as Asav. I think Nate would have been able to grab Nadine and slam her like Asav did if he wanted to. Just my two cents.
Asav is much bigger and stronger than Nate. He also is actually trained to fight while Nate mostly picked stuff up along the way. Asav in a straight fist fight would kill Nate on his own.

I absolutely despise how scared Nate seems of Nadine. There are even instances where he seems to hesitate to hit her, even though it’s clear that she is out to legitimately hurt him. Here is a world-class adventurer, a guy that has been through many dangerous situations; and he’s terrified of some over-confident bitch that has taken a few Taekwondo classes.
And to the people who counter this claim by stating that ‘Nadine is a trained martial artist’. I reply: Training will only take you so far. That is why weight classes are instituted in mixed martial arts or boxing. Because size and strength do matter in combat. Anyone who’s ever strapped on gloves and traded blows with another human being can attest as to how difficult it is to fight a larger opponent, especially someone who is skilled and outweighs you by more than 10 pounds.
It boggles my mind to think that the ‘creative minds’ at Naughty Dog somehow see this garbage writing as a proper send-off to one of their most beloved characters. Here is a character with an invested audience that have purchased and played the previous trilogy and you repay their loyalty by emasculating and embarrassing the hero of the story in its final chapter. I don't think it's unrealistic to think she could defeat them both, she is shown to be a badass with hand to hand skills pretty early on and Sam has been in Prison for 15 years and Drake was retired and living a quiet life like a week before this fight. They weren't exactly at their best and they've always been just kind of normal guys who are forced to fight.

Luke47895 I think if anything that’s what they tried to do. U see it in lost legacy but Nadine is actually extremely strong and has a lot of muscle mass. Combine that with intense military training and you have a force to reckoned with. However something important to note is that her strategy to fighting is very much based on using their own weight against them and by simply dodging punches and then attacking once the opponent is vulnerable. You see this more in uncharted lost legacy. I think that makes it much more realistic, seeing as a couple of strong punches could realistically knock her out.
