I find it odd that people think that the King had of course met him if he had contacted earlier. I think the palace announced there was no room in the kings diary to meet the king. I think it was to make a point that they didnt endorce his Nigerian visit.
The palace said nothing, it was Harry's press release that said the king didn't have time to meet him. It was self serving in order to make everything think that Charles is unfeeling. Charles dealt with that when Diana got all the press that said she was loving and they made him look cold back then, even though it wasn't true. Charles knows how the game is played, and he's not playing, he's the king, and Harry just has to deal with what he and Meghan have created.

In what capacity is Harry inspecting troops in Nigeria? He's not representing the Monarch King Charles or the UK govt.
