After my husband's health scare we moved to Ecuador so I could retire and spend every minute he has left with him. Your videos were a part our decision, so thank you.
So sad to lose a new friend that was so full of life. Healing takes time but I'm reminded of a Baha'i Hidden Word: "Sorrow not save that thou art far from Us. Rejoice not save that thou art drawing near and returning unto Us." Joe will be missed.
What a weird feeling. I've lost a friend I have never met. Rest in peace Joe.

I haven't been subscribed for very long but you both left a deep impression on me the moment I watched the video where Joe talked about how lucky he was to be with you and held your hand.
For someone like myself who comes from divorced parents that didn't get to experience a relationship like you and Joe, I've always appreciated seeing older couples still in love with one another. What a great life you both shared.
Its been my dream to move to Vilcabamba one day and to give you a hug. I bet you've made so many great memories with Joe and I'd love to hear about them in person if I can find my way to meet you.

I only met you and Joe once while on a Texas visit, but will always remember how wonderful you both were to me, of course Skip my husband has known Joe for many many years and he will be truly missed. Watching your videos on Ecuador was a major influence and inspiration for us to take the plunge and move to Ecuador last year.
I know the doctors did the best they could for him.
I had extremely great care when I had my 8th heart surgery in Quito this past February.
Joe's stories and videos were very engaging.

I'm shocked. I wanted so badly to come to Vilcabamba and meet the two of you. My wife and I were in Cuenca for a week 2 years ago. That was our first, and so far, only time in Ecuador. I discovered your channel after we returned and have thoroughly enjoyed your content. I figured if my wife and I made it to Vilcabamba for a spell during our retirement (4 years from now), we'd have wonderful fellow Christians for fellowship. At that moment, we realized why you and Joe had not posted in a little while. Lisa, words cannot not begin to express our sadness for your lost. My heart goes out to you Lisa, I am ever so sorry for your loss. I lost my dear mother over 8 months ago and I feel like my heart is shattered in millon pieces...half of my life went with her the moment she left. My grief has not got better after all these months. I miss her so much everyday and feel like I was never prepared to lose her. My beutiful mom comes to visit me in dreams and that seems to soften the pain a litlle.
