This was a super helpful video! Thank you, Kevin! I have a couple of helpful pointers for anyone else embarking on this endeavor: you have to move the carriage out of the way to get to the motor. But the carriage is locked in place! To unlock it, find the white gear on/near the carriage rail on the side of the printer opposite from where the carriage rests and turn it counter-clockwise a couple turns. Then you can slide the carriage out of the way. When you put the carriage back, turn it clockwise again.
The other tip is that if you are having trouble getting the belt back on the motor, check out the other side. Specifically, look for the piece the belt connects to on the other end. That mechanism is held in place with a spring that is very easy to unhook and re-hook. If you free that piece you can give yourself as much slack as you need in the belt. Just be super careful to keep the little wheels in place on that mechanism! The only thing holding them there is the tension from the belt.

Thank you kindly for this. This disassembly also seems to apply to the XP-950. For a future video, it would be good if we could find the designer to decided to put the power supply in a place where you basically have to dismantle most of the printer to get to it. From there they could be.. . perhaps tied up and marched through the streets with people who have tried to replace the power supplies shouting 'shame' at them like that thing from game of thrones?
Anywhooo, just an idea. Thank you for sharing 🙂

Thank you for this vid. I have a 245 canon ink cartridge that I refilled. But what I did was I opened the cartridge's lid and pour the ink instead of making a hole on top of it. I just taped it every time I'm done refilling. Is that a good idea to just tape it? I'm assuming that air goes in and makes the sponge dry. Also, I tried my best to unclog it, and every time I checked it on a tissue it seems it's unclogged. But when I started to check the line pattern, the pattern is not close to what is recommended. I always do the unclogging thru my computer as well and still the same result. I hope you can help me with my issue and thank you so much in advance.

I need some help, I recently got a Epson wf-3733. Is the 702 ink cartridge chips resettable? And any recommendations on aftermarket 702 refillable ink cartridges?

Hey Kevin, could you please help me? I have tried about 5 Epson Ecotank printers, and all of them prints out dots. I am using sublimation to create phone cases. When I heat press the aluminum plate, the dots are very visible. It looks grainy or as if I took a picture off google.
