One thing I love about this channel is they don’t keep us waiting for them reactions of really good trilogies or series, they throw em out one after the other and it’s great.
There's a reason Catherine Zeta-Jones is in this movie and why there's an emphasis on acrobatics with lasers. The answers are in the movie "Entrapment" (1999). I'll be glad to sponsor that reaction. Also, the soundtrack is top-notch, with European techno music and classical music.
Lol... Julia...playing Tess....pretending to be Julia... talking to Bruce Willis and then to Julia.... And Matt Damon roasting Julia to Julia's face. Meta highlight of this movie.
Fun fact: The scene where matt damon character was talking about his girl was funny asf brad and george was improvising mostly towards the end because they were tired 😫 so ppl were like they look like their not acting like their genuinely tired of rusty 😴 😅brad said most of these scenes he was just being himself so the director kept that in 😅
Not only that but the scene where Catherine Zeta Jones falls down at the end was GENUINE & unscripted-she actually missed her seat and laughed and when the director was editing he felt it was perfect.
Fun fact: The scene where Matt Damon's character was talking about his girl was funny as fuck, Brad and George was mostly improvising towards the end because they were tired so people said they looked like they were genuinely tired of Rusty. Brad said most of these scenes was just him being himself so the director kept it in.* I had to fix that, it read as if a dog typed it.
The Night Fox’s house is actually George Clooney’s real life villa on Lake Como. If I remember correctly, the cast stayed there and would be up drinking and eating all night.
Nobody knows this-but that entire soundtrack was a satire on a genre that was popular in the early 1970's. I could talk for hours about it as I know a LOT about it(!) So the music is actually funny too.
For people as geeky as me about the music I'll explain more-in the early 1970's there were a series of short films made to promote countries for tourists-then in the 1980's, these were often shown on tv when there were unexpected gaps in the tv schedule, because they were cheap or free for the broadcasters to show on air-and they ALL had EXACTLY the music from this film-weird, twisty, samba bits, mixes of different genres-because the people who made the original short films promoting the countries had had to make music for them that covered EVERY single nation in one go! I am SO not exaggerating here when I say that if you go and search these short films out you will see that the music here is pretty much a copy of it-and David Holmes, the guy who did the music in this film, is known to have LOVED those 1970's short travel films and their soundtrack! So-now you know...! Not many people have seen those original short films-but I did as a kid, and when I first saw this film, Ocean's 12, I had to stop myself laughing in the cinema just 'cos I knew the director had specifically requested David Holmes "emulate" (copy) that music. And he did it both beautifully and hilariously. It's sort of a parody! In a good way.
There’s a movie Bruce did where he was a master thief and it was an off the wall type comedy. I consider it a cult classic. It’s called The Hudson Hawk.
Steven Soderbergh went all out here. The cinematography, editing, music (ESPECIALLY the music), the overall vibe.. this is basically a big budget experimental heist film 😂
It's hard to understand for a lot of people, which is why it's usually not very liked compared to the other two movies, but Ocean's 12 was never about a heist. It's about pulling a very elaborate long con on one of the best thief in the world. And it was all masterminded by LeMarc, not Danny or Rusty, which is also different from the other movies. They have their own plans but those are all within LeMarc's bigger picture. His conversation with Danny and Rusty was basically, "Hey, I made a comment that really got under my protege's skin and I know he's coming after you out of pride and ego. I'm sorry about that. But if we work well together, we can turn this to our advantage. I get the egg back, I get my daughter and you guys get your freedoms back because Bennedict will be off your case".
Yes, Thé à la menthe means mint tea. And the French actor, Vincent Cassell, was in the music video (a very funny clip), and i believe he suggested the song be in the film.
Soderbergh defiantly hits it out of the park. Another name to know is Stephen Mirrione who was the editor on Oceans 11,12, and 13. Dude flys way under the radar, his filmography is like a hit of hits from this era. He definitely made this movie move!
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192mine too. It’s basically ranked 3, 1, 2. The third is my favorite cause we already know all the players and it’s back in Vegas and it’s the most fun. First is good because of the setup of everything and we haven’t seen this type of style ensemble film in a long time. Plus it had fun bits. Second is third because it was a little scatterbrained. But still fun in a different way and a killer soundtrack. My favorite part of 2 was the Egg switch. Editing from black/white to color along with that banger of a song was bitchin!
1994 Nobody's Fool has Paul Newman, Bruce Willis, Melanie Griffith early role for Philips Seymour Hoffman and is Jessica Tandy's last movie. This movie is a hidden gem.. character rolls from them all.
Catherine Zeta Jones is both stunning and immaculate in this role. It was so amazing seeing her go from being a super bad ass to, in the end, melting into her father's embrace.
When you finish this one don't neglect oceans 8. And when all of these are over, if you like Bruce willis, he is in a classic 2 episode series called "Red" (and Red II) with an entire cast of Legends - Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Sarah Jessica Parker,.. . You guys would love it! 👍☺️
Damn, it really made me feel old when they didn't realize Damon was reciting "Led Zeppelin" lyrics when they're screwing with him at the lunch scene with the random giberish😂
Catherine zeta Jones an absolute legend married to the great Michael Douglas she's also Welsh extra added bonus lol most of the UK greats are Welsh ha ha
The song when he's going through the museum with all the lasers is actually a rap song from the middle east(I think) or from India, sorry cant remember exactly. The song also includes the actor who played the Nightfox because he raps some of the song, if i remember correctly he is part of the group. The whole song is killer. ❤❤
People you should never mess with. A rich Italian owner of a casino or a few in Las Vegas. Never, never, never mess with cosa Nostra, I mean family, I mean Italians. They are very respectful.
In the other films, the twists were that they were doing things during the heists that we didn't know about, to preempt problems we didn't note beforehand. Here, the twist was that they just grabbed the egg in the beginning and everything else was just a farce. I didn't really appreciate that.
Unless I'm mistaken, it was said that this movie (and 13) was made simply as an excuse for all of them to together and have fun again! ...plus, the franchise made oodles of money.
I love all of the ocean's movies, but my absolute fav is Oceans Thirteen. I can watch this one everyday. Thanks for the reaction. Looking forward to the third movie reaction.
Okay but do you dare watch Oceans 8? With the female cast? I loved it (mainly because I love Awkwafina and Rihanna) but it has a great cast of other women. I hope you give it a try ☺️
To hell with reviews. The Boss is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, and it was destroyed by critics. Next to There's Something About Mary, it's the hardest I've ever seen a whole theater laugh. Having said that, I haven't seen 8 either lol.
More about Bruce Willis. The only reason he did "The Sixth Sense" is because he was under obligation. I always thought it was a strange movie for him to do, but..mas always ..he did an awesome job.
When you're done with the Ocean's trilogy, please watch "Out of sight"! It has the same director (Steven Soderbergh), the same main actor (George Clooney) and the same soundtrack composer (David Holmes)! 🤩👍
This is one of the best sequels ever. Catherine-Zeta Jones and Sean Connery in ENTRAPMENT (1999) is a 'must' for your Heist Flick enjoyment. NOT 'pineapple' but a Faberge' Egg - look it up.
Faberge Egg. Crafted in 1855, commissioned by Tsar Alexander III. Worth about 33 million in 2015. The James Bond movie Octopussy (1983) used the Faberge Egg at an auction house.
I like Brad Pit and George Clooney and the only Reason I watch this movie was because of The Late Bernie Mac everyday I used to watch the Bernie Mac show when it was on TV before they cancelled his show due to some health issues which he kept on working until his death in mid August of 2008
The only reason I didn't like was the way Isabel kept catching everyone, but I get it. She was doing her job and she was an angry ex. But other than that, loved this movie too. Love the trilogy. One of the best Trilogy movies ever.
People don't seem to understand what this movie is trying to say. You're not always gonna be the best however WHO you know is just as important as what you know. As a thief Nightfox is superior but Danny's connections are what allow him to win (especially our boy Linus) It's not about an elaborate heist and when you get that through your head you can stop saying it's a problem. You can not like it but that doesn't make it a problem with the movie
The guy they were talking to in Amsterdam was played by Robbie Coltrane, the same actor who played Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies. If you like slapping soundtracks you should check out The Man From UNCLE with Henry Cavill.

David Holmes doing the score...dude is great...
Love love love that movie I watched it several times growing up but havnt seen it for years deffo have to do it on the channel
second the recommendation for you watching "Entrapment," especially if you're on a Heist movie kick
I love when Linus starts quoting ‘Kashmir’ by Led Zeppelin cuz he’s so confused and Rusty and Danny just stare at him 😂😂
Don't forget the fake laughing they did right before that.
The nonsense scene with Robbie Coltrane cracks me up every time
Long Live Robbie Coltrane

The song in the scene where the French guy break dances is called "The a la Menthe" by Le Caution. French-Morrocan hip hop group.

The music in the Ocean's Movies are like the 12th character! Those tunes just set the scene , the action and emotions to a T
Biggest crime is the song during the laser scene wasn’t even on the soundtrack.
